We loved the staff and the excellent customer service! The owner said hi to us several times! We were picked up by staff from the train station and also used the shuttle to visit the monkeys. Our room and the onsens were beautiful! We also ate breakfast and dinner each day here and had an interesting and delicious culinary experience, including vegetarian dishes! We came during low season, so the neighborhood was quiet but charming.
The private tub was too hot for us and we did not know how to make it cooler!

The hotel staff and the owner were very courteous and make our stay very personable. The meals were great and the onsens were clean and beautiful. It was easy to access the main street with other bath houses, which runs in the back of the hotel. It was fun and romantic. Great location to stay if visiting snow monkeys also.
