This place is fantastic! It’s super close to the train station, and you can easily get buses to see the Snow Monkeys or go for some mountain hiking. The onsen was amazing, and the Japanese breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The staff were always there when you needed them, but they also respected your need for privacy. I was a bit worried about sleeping in a traditional Japanese bed, but I was so pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was and how well we slept.

Private time in the outdoor onsen was very nice and relaxing.

I really enjoyed my stay! It was a lovely change from regular Hôtels, peaceful, relaxing, with great onsens and incredibly kind staff. A wonderful experience in Japan !

The staff was extremely helpful. Came out to help with parking and walked us around the entire hotel explaining things. The private and mens/womens only onsen was wonderful. It is very traditional Japanese from the rooms and breakfast so be prepared. We loved it. The Snow Monkey park is very close but get there by 10 am when the staff whistles for the monkeys and before the crowds get too much.
