Good shower and bed but would not stay again

Good shower, bed comfy, small fridge and air con.

Unfriendly reception - was so fast with info that I had to look it all up for myself anyway, toilet seat literally broken in half but I was too tired from walking Via Francigena to care. Not best location at bottom of hill do had to go up stairs to all the sights and was quite a dark spot at night.

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price

The only real positive about this hotel was the location, but to be fair, in such a small village it's hard to end up in a bad spot. Unfortunately, everything else about the stay was underwhelming. The room wasn’t very clean, and the furniture was extremely old and worn out. The window barely opened or closed properly, and the noise from outside made it hard to relax. The bathroom was tiny, with visible rust, and the door was difficult to open. The bed was also uncomfortable, which didn’t help with getting a good night’s sleep. Overall, for the price we paid, this was not a good value. The place really needs maintenance and better cleaning standards.

Great price value.

Great place in the middle of San Gimignano! The room is located in a quiet side street with a view into the backyard. The room was clean and great for a short stay. We parked for free outside San Gimignano close to a school within a 10min walk from the center, but could load off our luggage at the place with the help of the host who kindly drove in front of us through the narrow streets of the town.

It was the first step in our Italy vacation, and it gave a good mood for the rest of it.

We arrived late because of the luggage delay, but our host was eager to meet us at the old town entrance to show us how to drive to the property. There is no parking inside the walls of old town, so we had to unload the luggage at the apartment, and then move our car to the public parking, just outside the city walls (15 minutes easy walk from there, there is a lift to shorten the climb). The same procedure for leaving. It differs a lot from other old towns, where you have to drag your suitcases from the distant parking through cobbled lines. The location is about 5-10 minutes walk from every attraction, The house is very old, walls are maybe meter thick. Nice touch - we were presented with a bottle of pretty nice local wine, which definitely removed all grudges from airport luggage discomfort.

Ceiling was low for me, I've bumped my head occasionally. Our host was 10 cm taller than me, hope he is more careful.

Pleasant

The host was friendly (and even brought us complimentary local wine), however he barely understood a sentence in English. The location is great, close to the center but not noisy.

They advertised "air-conditioning in rooms" (plural) but had a/c only in one of the two rooms (they did bring us a standing fan). Still, in August it was too hot and we couldn't open the windows (without nets) because of the mosquitoes. The apartment was NOT clean, the kitchen dirty and facilities old and worn out. The toilet barely flushed. We had to use force to flush it and often it just didn't flush. The doors wouldn't shut all the way, including the bathroom door which was very unpleasant.

The apartment / room is very basic equipped and unsuitable for disabled people. The mini-fridge doesn't work, the pull-out bed is uncomfortable. The apartment is in the city center, free parking is available 10-15 minutes from the apartment.

the room was rather dated and all furniture was different style. None was them was matching with each other. the single bad was horrible, I had a really rough sleep. the shower room was so tiny you could barely turn around and the show had was pointing at the walls. the walls are very thin and you could hear when people are getting in and out. I would recommend finding another place if you want to have a nice room experience.

very nice and well situated self contained apartment with adjoining kitchen close to the historic centre. Friendly efficient check in and plenty of information available about the town.

would have marked it higher but for lack of soundproofing to upstairs flat which seems to have wooden floors - every sound could be heard - luckily they slept quietly!
