Nice location but the apartment was not worth the price

Location is great.

The beds were so hard we couldn’t sleep. Pillows were old and uncomfortable Because many rooms are advertised on the site, I was unsure of correct location. We got lost trying to find the check-in area. The apartment itself was clean but very plain. Not what I expected for the price.

A wonderful stay in an historic city. Trip of a lifetime.

We truly enjoyed our stay in San Gimignano! We were a little worried about driving there, but GPS enabled us to easily find our checkin location, even though it was on an isolated road. Then they drove us into town to show us to our room and pointed out parking locations, etc. Great service!

Being a 500 year old building in a medieval city, there was no elevator. Luckily, our host was nice enough to carry our luggage up the stairs to our room, or that could have taken us a while. Going down was not a problem.

Church bells ringing and the cobble stone alleys are a step away.

We checked in at main property. The owner led us directly to our apartment within the walled city. The apartment was a full, two bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen. By European standards, this was a very spacious apartment. What we loved best was the ease of walking out the door, exploring town when all of the day tourists were gone. We owned the city at night! We walked the wall, enjoyed dinner in the few open restaurants. November is low season and there were no crowds. The apartment had a well supplied kitchen. We bought groceries at COOP nearby and enjoyed leisurely breakfasts. The description of this property may sound like it includes breakfast. This property is fully independent. Parking for free was a 10 minute walk outside the city wall.

The mattresses were just OK. I wouldn't let that be a deterrent because there were so many fantastic features that make this property shine.

Great central location in a characterful property.

Great location right in the heart of San Gimignano, very characterful building, good quality breakfast, friendly staff.

I have no criticisms other than we unfortunately didn’t have a room overlooking the square at the front of the building but were at the back without any nice views, however that wouldn’t put me off staying here again.

Perfect central location in San Gimignano to absorb the history, views and ambience of the town.

The apartment we stayed in had stunning views across the San Gimignano countryside and was located on the top floor of a historic palazzo right on the main square of San Gimignano. The breakfasts were great, attentively served by our hostess and the location was excellent.

Disappointing

The only good thing about this property is the building itselft and the fact that is located in this splendid village! Beautiful view over the Tuscan hills. Otherwise, 0 attention to details, bathroom that looks horrible, dirt that you can see on the heaters, furniture, dust… For the price we paid for a night, around 150 euros per night, they could pay more attention to the cleaning, and hire staff that speak english as well and accomodate decent requests, as letting us for 5 minutes to have a coffee for breakfast at a decent table!

Difficult to get the key, as there is another adress and property written on booking and thats not where the location for your stay is. That means you need to have a car, time and energy to solve this puzzle. But this was nothing compared to the fact that the buffet breakfast is actually a small bar with a couple of options displayed that you cannot touch, because for a slice of bread or one of salami, you must point and the a lady has to put it on your plate! That was absolutely ridiculous! We a asked only for a coffee, but even that we could not sit properly and have because she pointed us a tiny table 20 cm from the other table with guests and the wall on the other sides. She did not let us sit to have the coffee to another free table, saying there are other guests coming! Guests that did not show up during the time I had the coffee, nor after! Thats not a breakfast, but a joke!

Just absolutely amazing

Regrettably we only stayed one night it was absolutely fantastic When we arrived at the check in villa we were given a lovely greeting , we had a swim in the pool and a lovely chilled 1/2 bottle of their white wine. When we were ready we were taken into the town to our room which was absolutely stunning , right in the square . We felt so honoured to be staying there. Thankyou so much to our hosts.

Most beautiful accommodation in the most beautiful Tuscan town.

The double room in the apartment was wonderful, located in a very peaceful part of town with gorgeous views. It was our favourite place we’ve stayed in all of our Italy travels—comfortable, full of character, and excellent service. Bonus was the use of the pool & delicious lunch at the main accommodation outside of town.

Great location but accommodation needs an upgrade.

The property was in a perfect position and the owners were friendly, helpful and accommodating.

The property definitely needs a refresh. We were disappointed that the bedroom on the second floor had been locked and we were unable to access it considering the bathroom was there as well. So we had to use the downstairs bedroom with the full bathroom being upstairs. The large terrace was huge but this also needs some attention. Minor things but we had been to some beautiful accommodation over 9 weeks and this didn’t quite hit the mark for us.

Kitchen was closed in the flat, fridge was available which was good, but no glass or plates. To be fair we have not asked why is that closed and if we can access it somehow.

You’re in the sky!

Views were outstanding , breathtaking view of Tuscan countryside, and city view from another aspect of the property. Breakfast was lovely served by very nice staff. Sheets and linen top quality throughout. Very clean.

The beds were unfortunately not very comfortable, and the apartment is located up quite a few flights of stairs - around ten—so it’s something to be aware of, especially if you’re arriving with luggage or elderly. While we didn’t expect help carrying our bags, it was a bit surprising to be asked to assist with making a bed right after carrying everything upstairs with no help. It wasn’t a major issue, but it did feel a bit out of place given the timing.

Main property is separate from the room where you will stay. It was a short drive between the two and parking was easy and nearby. The location was awesome as it doesn’t take more the 3 minutes to start walking the city center.

Avoid if possible, you not get the picture room

Is different from the pictures. Was more or less still ok but I was dissepointed as I was dreaming of the picture location. And that was I thought I paid for. Be aware as I think it is a scam, look at the low review rates, you could get a basement room. So could be worse then ours, and then there is this : Dear Olaf Can you let me know about your arrival time? I remind you that check-in is by 6.30 pm Late check-in costs € 30,00 .... Btw the reception is 1km outside the city, calling was a bit problematic (our provider issue) the whole thing was a mess, as it was pouring rain and we were ice cold. Not recommended at all ...

I would recommend this family and their property every time you are visiting San Gimignano!

I was welcomed by the family with such kindness to pick up the keys to the apartment. They provided recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Once at the apartment, I was shown around the property and answered any questions I had. The room was very comfortable and in the perfect location. The decor was so amazing!

I would have prefered glass over plastic cups in the room. The shower handle was not able to be hung in a direction for showering but I made do.

Perfect mix of an apartment in historic location, but with access to a nearby hotel with pool.

Lovely traditional style apartment that felt like a proper house. Based within the walled city with close proximity to the historic square. Having access to the affiliated hotel meant we could use the lovely pool whenever we wanted. It was about 2 miles away but we had a hire car. We had to park about a mile away but it was a lovely, healthy scenic stroll and we appreciated the exercise.

I would struggle to find fault and the only thing I can think of is that we found the pillows to be uncomfortable, so we bought softer pillows. Only personal preference. I told you I would struggle to find fault!

Amazing B&B, very well located, spacious, clean. The family taking care of the B&B were very helpful. We stayied at an appartment at the center, but were also able to visit the main B&B location and it seems amazing!! I would love to return.

Disappointing

The apartment was in a good location but did not really match the description or photos given.

When we arrived at the place we were to collect the key the host was busy on a call the entire time. We had to wait initially but the phone call continued for a very long time so the host chose to conduct our check in and process our payment while talking on the phone. He did not even take the time to introduce himself. The whole process was rushed and not hospitable at all. The photos and description are not accurate. The apartment is actually 2 bedroom so the floor space of 70square meters includes another bedroom not living space. and for 2 persons not very usable space. The blue and white bathroom shown is NOT the one in the apartment at all, the shower is very small and the decor very dated. The view of the town is not the view from the apartment. The bed was very hard, the spare pillows had dirty pillow cases and when I put them out to be changed they were returned back to the drawers dirty. The shower head was broken, but this was repaired quite quickly (2 days), the dishwasher made the dishes dirty not clean and so we had to hand wash everything but only a small amount of watered down detergent was provided. A shelf inside the fridge door was broken. There was no clothes rack provided even though it is listed in the description.

A great experience in San Gimignano due to this booking

The pool facilities at the farm outside of town were fabulous. We chose to stay in the historic town so most room photos don’t apply (they’re from the accommodation at the farm) but we had no issues at all with the room in town. It’s in a great location at one end of the historic centre and easy access to everywhere in San Gimignano. The farm is around a 30 minute walk from the town accommodation and we were glad we chose to stay where we did, given we could use the pool facilities when we wanted too. Breakfast was in a building around a 3 minute walk away (from the town accommodation) and there was a wide variety of breakfast items available, mostly hand served by a lovely Italian woman. Breakfast is served until 9.30am, not 10am. Andrea was great. He picked us up from the bus stop and drove us and our luggage to the accommodation. Luckily we didn’t have much as it was a Fiat car. Overall, we hand a great two days in San Gimignano, mostly attributed to this booking.
