Quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

Great breakfast, tasty, fresh and plenty of choice, served in a dining area with a superb view. The hosts were friendly and accomodating.

The only thing I could criticise was that the room chairs were not the most comfortable, although there was a chaise longue in the room as well. Availability of the use of the properties main lounge was also unlimited

PARADISE!!!

This place has truly captured my heart! I’ve travelled to many places, but nothing—and I mean nothing—has come close to this. Jane and her husband have created a little slice of paradise. I’m honestly considering quitting my job just to stay here and help them take care of it! Jane is the warmest host. She spoiled us with delicious food and treats throughout our stay. I had planned this trip for my partner’s birthday, and when I told her about it, she surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco in our room. It was such a sweet gesture that made our day even more special. I still dream about those breakfasts, absolutely heavenly! Every bite was perfection. And don’t even get me started on Bobby and Maggie, the donkeys, and Billy and Ruby, the goats. They were so friendly and full of personality! I’ve got tons of pictures with them and honestly wish Booking.com allowed me to upload more, just so everyone could see how magical Swallows Rest truly is. At night, make sure to grab a picnic blanket and head out to the garden. The stars are unreal, like nothing I’ve ever seen in my life. You’ll just sit there in awe, wondering how you’ve never noticed how beautiful the sky can be. I genuinely believe every person should visit this place at least once in their lifetime. I’m only 23, but I want to spend the rest of my life being as kind, hospitable, and welcoming as Jane. Every little detail, from the cozy books and garden to the thoughtful baskets she prepared for each room, right down to the fresh milk, was filled with love and care. We’re already planning our next visit. Swallows Rest, you’ve set the bar impossibly high.

Comfortable and welcoming, it’s a lovely house. The animals are amazing, chickens goats and donkeys. Nice walks from the door where you will see horses and al Pacas. Outstanding breakfast as well.

As guests, we were well taken care of and my daughter loved meeting you all and your animal.

Property itself was very homely. Hosts were super friendly and very accommodating. We loved the home made cakes and the animals that were on site. Breakfast was very tasty too! Thank you so much for welcoming us.

Perfect short stay

Can not fault a thing. Everything was perfect. Lovely little touches like freshly baked cake in your room every day, which was delicious, The beds are super comfortable, the breakfast is on another level, we ate breakfast and didn't eat anything else until breakfast the next day. The owners are lovely, very warm and friendly. Exceptional value for money. We will definitely return

It was a delightful stay enhanced by the beauty of the location and friendliness of the owners.

The breakfast was magnificent. Choice and variation excellent. Quality of food outstanding.

The welcome was warm, the room, not large, comfortable and the view over the garden to the sea fantastic. The lovely surprise of daily homemade cakes in our room was lovely after a day out and the delicious breakfast with eggs from the chickens running around the beautiful gardens made the stay most enjoyable and different from the usual B&B

Breakfast was really good and the little touches like putting a home made cake in our room everyday, lovely. Keith and Jane were lovely hosts and their garden is really lovely to sit in after a day out.

A very warm welcome from the host, although my boots were muddy from a long walk. The whole house is richly decorated, there is a beautiful sitting room for guests, my room had a great view of the lovely garden, bed and towels were soft and wonderful. Lovely breakfast room. I felt very welcome.

The location is wonderful, the atmosphere is very relaxing, cosy, and homelike. Great hosts, caring and welcoming. We had a nice comfortable room with a welcoming homemade cake and with great view of the large garden, which is amazing with many chickens and ducks to watch. There is a jacuzzi to use at the back of the garden. The breakfast was also very good with great selection of fruits and cooked food, tasty fresh eggs.

Although this BB is in a busy built up area the house is just beautiful stunning views Jurassic coast from the back of this property tastefully decorated and beautifully arranged big lounge/dinning room which you are welcome to use room could have been bigger but clean comfortably hosts were just lovely the breakfast was amazing the big garden had chickens ducks a duck pond 2 very friendly pot belly pigs a hot tub with a big summer house to change before and after a hot tub dip

What’s not to like ? Beautiful house comfortable room 2 lovely hosts they even had a pump to top up our tyre on our car !! Amazing breakfast beautifully cooked. Our last night we came home to towels arranged on our bed to look like we had towel people in our bed. So funny

Wonderful cosy and hospitable atmosphere, very kind and caring hosts, good quality food, everything is clean and makes you feel at home. No issues with hot water, shower and toilet equipment is modern which was important to me. The garden is beautiful and full of animals, chicken and ducks of various breeds which is peaceful and puts you in a great mood. The sea is quite far to walk and the footpath was closed due to the rains so not able to comment, but it's easy to drive to the nearby beaches. Great experience!
