As ever the YHA represents great value for money. Fantastic looking cation, clean comfortable beds. Staff are lovely and very helpful.
It’s a hostel so take the rough with the smooth when it comes to room mates

Value for money & staff very friendly
No wi-fi in the room

A reasonable YHA standard. Really nice staff, 24/7 reception, beds equipped with lights and sockets. The dorm was even an ensuite which was a nice surprise. Great location.
Showers are truly terrible; it's the "mounted to the wall" type, you cannot direct the water stream and it's splashing everywhere. Wifi isn't great on the top floors. The lounge would be a nice workspace, but all the sockets are mysteriously far from the tables, so you cannot really plug your laptop in. The room was very cold despite two heaters.

Lovely hostel right on the floating harbour. Staff are always really friendly.
Probably my favourite hostel in Bristol.

Nice location ..cleanish and tidy
Housekeeper would slam door 9 time ( yes I counted ) in the space of 1 hour ...although a week booking wasn't vacuumed once :(
Staff seem less then friendly and quick to chase you off so they can get back to Facebook xx

Not a lot. Good location, but that's about it
Really poor run down hostel probably without any maitenance or even slightest decor improvements for decades. Verypoor hygiene everywhere - dirty bathrooms, rooms etc
Stinking staff attitude (female staff) which was borderline harassing. Legitimate id card not good for her, Home address in Bristol is a crime. Then after literally spending all nights on ground floor of hostel i was requested to supply room card as receptionist doesnt think i am a guest. Totally insane experience.
Oh and not to mention - towel stolen by other guest (at least got refunded that). Other guest had shoes stilen alledgedly.
Dimply - YHA Bristole charges to prices for well below standard accomodation. And staff - you know time for you lot to get huge mirror and have a very goodlook at yourselves

The bathroom

Nothing. Never stay there again!
Staff were unhelpful, the breakfast was late and horrible, not cooked properly and really greasy. The room was too hot and creaky floorboards. The doors kept on slamming, keeping me awake. I wished I had stayed at the Ibis hotel. There you get a comfortable silent room, temperature controlled, your own bathroom and towels as well as tv, tea coffee facilities and you can keep your bike in the room. All for the same price as what I paid for the YHA. Honestly it’s such a RIPOFF Staying at Bristol YHA! Dirty place.

The location is perfect, right on the floating harbour. The venue is clean, comfortable and the staff is very friendly.
Well, bunk 4 room 207 needs its plug sorted out, but the staff came up with a satisfactory workaround. So, really, this is a minor niggle.

Very easy entry, fantastic location, lovely warm and welcoming staff and reception area. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable for the price. Pleasantly surprised by the quality considering the budget friendly pricing.
The lift was a little rickety and dim, so not great if you're a little claustrophobic.

The location is great, the self catered kitchen comes very handy as well. Loads of rooms where you can hang out or do work on your laptop and stuff. The staff is quite nice to me as well and there was always someone available at reception.
I wish the beds had like a little curtain you could use for privacy, I've been to some similar priced hostels, and some of them had one. It just makes things much easier if you wanna change your clothes for example.

Very nice and cozy „low-budget“ accommodation! The staff was always friendly and helpful! The location was perfekt and we had everything we needed!
Beds are a little uncomfortable and it was a little warm in the room, but for sure that’s not an issue! The whole stay was lovely!

It was honestly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed.

Great location!
The cost! For a youth hostel prices were very high - £120 for a single room and friends spent £200 on a double room. This was the cheapest option though so had no choice other than to book it.

Good location
I would like to highlight that some customers were a tad too loud at night or when at the reception area. As a space that is open to public, users should be more considerate of others.

The room is actually okay, but the toilet and bathroom is need improvement a lot. Since there is no shampoo or body wash or towelinside the bathroom, the toilet a bit dirty and it seems the mantainance need improvement.
I rent for 2 nights with the price a bit expensive than another hostel in London, and the bed was very small and narrow. And the worst thing that I have experience there was someone look drunk and smells very bad and it make me uncomfortable at all and he slept in the same room with me. I know the issue is not come from the hostel but the management and staff should check the guest condition as well to make other guest feel uncomfortable. It look like a junkies sleep in the same room with all your belonging there make me very scare and uncomfortable.

Windows wouldn’t open and it was a million degrees
Bed was 6’1 and I’m 6’4”
Metal at both ends couldn’t fit in it.
Left at 10pm went elsewhere
No windows that opened and the bed was small

The Location was the center of the City, close to Queen Square, not far from Temple Meads train station, Close to the Harbour Reach, with easy access to bus stops, taxis, and bike/scooter pickup points—lots of attractive sites and places around within the radius. The room was clean, well spaced for the 2 double-bunk beds and a single bed, each having a socket to charge and a side bed lamp. The room has a sink with hand wash and the duvet, bedspread are changed every day, with their whiteness retained.
Emmmm...I didn't figure WiFi was an option as I also scanned for the WiFi SSID but didn't pick up any signal. Perhaps there should be a flyer at the reception indicating there is WiFi, free or subscribed to...

Good room for a 3 person group. And the kitchen facilities were excellent.
No air conditioning. Or there could have been more than one fan considering the current heat waves.

The location is great! But also has its challenges since it’s a busy area of time where people like to party into the night.
I paid for a female dorm and they booked a man into the room and then woke us up at 12:30 am to make him switch rooms.
And the checkout time. Since people are partying non stop, and it’s inevitable that people will lose sleep because of this - I would have appreciated a 11am checkout time.

Poor control of loud guests at 3am and as usual just a bit smelly.

Very noisy during the night due to thin walls and creaking floors (first night I couldn't sleep at all, told the staff but they said they couldn't do anything)

Once again YHA Bristol excels. Wonderful staff, clean comfortable beds and en-suite shower and toilet. One of the best VFM stays in the UK.
Location is perfect with picturesque views over the Avon

Shower has low pressure and was like standing under a tap. There was also no shelf to put ones stuff on.

everyone and everything was perfect but I don't understand how no one has mentioned the huge jet engine thats in the private room? 507
the pipe has no insulation and no ear plugs at the desk when I asked at 3 AM, you should provide builders ear defenders or sound proof the fan etc. I'm not being a dick but it's one of the fundamentals quite room (we are not all night owls posters on the wall) how many people have endured that, i think it wouldn't pass regulations tests, it was that loud. I had to put meditation music on and make a pillow sandwich to counteract the air flow wow who do you think you are asking people to pay for that Room. you couldn't pay me to stay in that room again. SERIOUSLY IF YOU GET 507 BRING EAR PLUGS! at the end of the day i usually carry some but i left them at home so its my own fault, should have used the poster ripped them up and used it ear plugs. Anyway everything else was amazing, clean enough, comfortable but when you are missing the fundamental night sleep that you paid for then non of that matters.

Right in the hear of Bristol, close to an airport bus and able to check in and check out at the times I needed. Basic little room, what I paid for and covered what I needed
The very top floor was extremely creaky and loud which meant I was wary of going to loos/showers in the early hours and I got woken a couple times. I imagine the other floors where fine
