Colourful and comfortable
Farts and snoring. Lol.

Good kitchen and common room.
Stayed on a Friday - the business also operates a late night bar, loud music played till 2am.
7.0 / 10.0
There was loud music from the ground floor bar, but the room was actually fairly well insulated against the loud music.
The loud music, but I appreciate that the pub/bar is a venue.
6.0 / 10.0
The location was just a stonethrow away from the bus/coach station, also close to the city centre. The kitchen in the hostel was well equipped and helpful.
The beds in the room did not have curtains at all - so you did not really have a privacy (female dormitory, 8 beds). The room is relatively dark. Even when the room of the window was closed, it was loud from outside (traffic, party music).
Mattress was old and not comfortable (from all beds, I checked).
Price per night TOO HIGH for value.

The location was perfect for me, as I came for the dance festival - and was able to walk towards the venue. Shopping centre is close by, plenty of places to eat, including the pub at the hostel.
The music in the pub played quite loud till really late. Wasn't a problem for me as I myself came from my salsa parties late in the night. But if I was not for dance festival and would love to go to bed at, say, 10pm, wouldn't be happy about the music.

Fantastic location in Bristol city centre, friendly staff, comfy bed and great communal area.
Every door and floorboard in the building squeaks/creaks so if you are a light sleeper it probably isn’t the place for you.

I communal area, everyone's friendly. Inclusive
The loudness of the corridors. You could hear the pub at night and the music and people talking, and walking up the corridors.

The kitchen and living room area were nice
Very loud music downstairs, mostly on Friday and Saturday (till 2am) and just loud overall during the week, to the point I asked to change rooms.
Not even a simple shelf next to the bed, nothing to put your basic items on. You literally get a bed and a locker in the room.
Place was clean and had friendly staff

Nothing. Unfortunately, there was nothing positive about this stay.
This was an extremely poor and unacceptable experience. I booked the property for two nights, only to arrive and discover that another person had clearly been using the room before my check-in. The room was not prepared for a guest at all. The bed was dirty, there were insects all over it, and the entire room smelled unpleasant and unhygienic.
On top of that, the heater was not working, and the room was very cold. I contacted the host through Booking.com to ask for the heater to be fixed, but I received no response. Instead, the host contacted me outside the Booking.com platform, which was inappropriate. When I explained again that the heater did not work and that the bedding was dirty, he claimed he was not aware of the situation.
I requested a room change as the room was clearly unsafe and unhealthy, but I was told there were no available rooms. To make matters worse, there was loud music from neighbouring rooms at 3 a.m., making it impossible to rest.
Overall, this was one of the worst stays I have ever experienced. The lack of hygiene, basic facilities, communication, and respect for guest safety is completely unacceptable.

The location, price of a twin room and availability where all great. It provided a place to crash after a night out that suited my budget. The room had a kettle, TV, fan and earplugs provided and I felt what it offered was great for the price. I was able to get in at night without problems as it had a 24 h reception.
Using the shared bathroom (fine, expected) in the morning one of the loo's wasn't flushing. I'm sure it would be resolved quick.
Everything is a little creaky, so despite best efforts to arrive quietly you sound like an elephant!
The beds are a little thin. Clean, but a little padding would have taken good -> great.

Very clean facilities and friendly atmosphere. Excellent location in the centre of Bristol. Superb value for money.
Can't think of anything negative, other than beer prices were a little on the high side.

1night stay. Very close to bus station
Unisex toilets, the men had left seats up and not flushed toilets

I had a great four night stay. The staff were phenomenal! They were always helpful when needed. The hostel seemed to have it all for a budget traveler. Rooms and bathrooms were kept clean. I stayed in the four bed female dorm and the bed was comfortable. Also, it was nice to be able to control the heat in the room. The communal kitchen was well equipped and there was a lovely sitting area for eating and chilling. The location can't be beat. Easy walk to many different neighborhoods, so no need for any public transport during my stay. It's a party hostel, but I didn't hear any noise in my room (Room C).
No complaints.

Staff friendliness, comfortable bed
Bathroom wasn't fully clean, but the lovely person on reception sorted it out swiftly and with understanding.

Showers were absolutely freezing. Single pane window in the shower room made it absolutely freezing and there were no heaters in the room. The bed was really uncomfortable and my room was very cold.

Decent location, great cheap option for staying in Bristol. Very clean, would definitely recommend.
Shower could have been hotter!

The location is amazing and the property feels welcoming.
I only spent one night here so I might have had bad luck but first of all the entrance was pretty confusing. As I reached at night when the bar was open there was a long line of people trying to get in. I tried asking the bouncers/staff by the door where the hostel entrance was and they didn’t respond to me, so I had to wait in the long queue until my turn came and they told me.
Check in was smooth and staff were lovely. However, I didn’t get a tour of the place like most other hostels do. So I had to go exploring in the middle of the night (which isn’t a huge issue until you hear what happened later on).
As I was trying to put on the bedsheets I noticed that the sheets that were already on the beds were pretty dirty - I am not sure how often they wash these sheets but to me they looked moldy (pictures attached).
There is zero privacy between the beds.
The hostel is basically the second floor of the bar. I feel like it was mentioned in the description but I didn’t realize that I would actually be hearing the music as if I was in the bar - so up until 2pm when the bar closed I wasn’t able to sleep. I wasn’t offered any ear plugs or anything to help with the noise.
As I was checking out, the security person was interrogating me as he saw me on the cameras going to the toilet then the kitchen but confused me with another person so thought I was going up the stairs to other rooms. I had to deny going up the stairs multiple times for him to believe me. As I was leaving he started questioning me again about whether I paid the damage deposit.

We like our room which was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the location was good. Will come back here next time we go to a gig in Bristol
Some kind of alarm in the landing went off a few times during the very early morning

Perfect location for an event we were attending in the city. We had 3 private rooms for our party and all were comfortable and clean.
They do tell you that music is played til 2am. So it was not a surprise that when 2 of our group had a room on the ground level right next to the outside seating area and DJ booth, that no sleep was happening until after 2am.

Great location & excellent all round stay

Good vibe, friendly staff, events, regular cleaning, good kitchen and lounge area, warm showers, it’s a good hostel specially for younger backpackers who are into partying.
- Some mattresses were really in bad state
- As the price is quite good, it attracts some dodgy clients, but it’s a risk in general of hostels.
- there should be better lockers in the room and also without requiring the clients to buy their own lock.

Fantastic location for stokes croft area clubs and restaurants. Really cool pub with unique artwork in the rooms and outside courtyard and a quirky atmosphere. Checkout time is 11am and you can access the hostel at any time of day or night which is also great if you're going clubbing.
The only downside was that we stayed in the accessible ground floor twin room and it had a very strong smell of mould. Other than that it was great value for money and we would definitely stay again, but would try a different room next time.

Good hostel ontop of fun and social bar. Lounge and kitchen facilities were good, great location and cheap rates.
Only down side was the noise from the bar was very loud until 2am, this is not every night though. Really my own fault for sleeping early and not also being at the bar.

Wouldn't say I didn't like it but it's a bit noisy at night but I just went out and enjoyed the nightlife due to this and it was great

It's not every day, so didn't get to try it.
The quilts and pillows just smelt strongly of greasy hair and in the room it was 392 degrees Celsius.

Clean
I am pretty sure that my credit card was cloned at the property after ai made the deposit payment upon checking in. It was right after that deposit (refundable) payment that the strange unwsnted spending started on my card. Apart from the that, squeakiest bed I ever slept on.

The bed and pillow were so comfy which is really important for me. The staff was so very nice and welcoming.

Staff was quite rude, I arrived late at night and was not friendly at all; WiFi didn’t work properly (not even in common spaces); I was given a bed where you could feel the springs in your back and neck and staff was not very helpful in finding a solution.
Also, in some of the bathrooms toilet paper and hand soap was missing.

Everything was great.

One of the best hostels in the city centre. Excellent, clean rooms and a brilliant kitchen and communal area! Staff were absolutely amazing!
Nothing that I didn't like. Everything was perfect.
7.0 / 10.0
The hostel felt quite safe and all rooms had key cards to enter. The common area was great, kitchen well stocked. Plenty of showers/toilets and cleanliness was good.
The experience could be improved from a 6/10 to 10/10 very easily by adding curtains to the beds, providing lockable storage in the rooms that could fit a backpack inside, more than one hook in the shower cubicles and maybe adding some extra standing fans to the rooms.
The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, the springs were sticking up.
4.0 / 10.0
It was pretty close to the train station
It was incredibly loud, the windows were open to the courtyard, people were snoring loudly, the bed had a spring sticking into my back, there was no ladder to get to the second bunk, there was no guard rail on the bunk, so one small turnover, you could die… With all the people you have staying there I think you can do better
8.0 / 10.0
Basic no frills hostel with character. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Stayed in female dorm for 3 nights. Room was adequate size, beds were comfy and everything seemed clean. There’s a kitchen area and laundry if you need. Towels can be rented for £1. Great location very close to bus station and Cabot circus shopping area. I think it’s a reasonable price for staying in central Bristol and would stay again
The rooms are directly above a pub and courtyard meaning it gets VERY busy (ie Noisy) at night, particularly weekends when the loud music went on until the early hours. If you’re looking for tranquility and calm this is NOT the place! Few small things - only 3 lockers in a 6 bed dorm. Bathroom mirrors need readjusting since they’re too high/small. Also a mirror in the showers would’ve been nice. Also, it’s an old building with steps/uneven floors so this could be a problem for people with mobility issues
10.0 / 10.0
Location. It’s only 7-10 minutes walk from the bus station.
I’m ok so far. I know they have music playing regularly at night. My first night there was finished around 11:30pm just right before my sleep. So it was ok. If the music stays over midnight, I’ll be struggling.
