Nice hotel well situated and if the hotel had been open it would have been a perfect choice.

Well maintained and traditional style for the area. Parking in site free and relatively easy to access. Location is fine a short walk from the lakeside and all the other hotels and restaurants.

The restaurant was closed, this seemingly an issue for all hotels and restaurants in the area as there was an extremely limited choice open and a local large hotel would not accept non residents. If you want to eat in the evening be warned it might be difficult.

Great hotel to be in.

Great hotel, very close to everything. We had a nice breakfast. Had some noise from the street if the window is open.

No elevator. We had to carry our suitcases to the second floor.

The atmosphere, it follows a nice theme of winter coziness everywhere. Super clean rooms, and generally in tip top condition, everything works as it should. The location is super convenient to just walk around the village and not take the car. We where blown away by the breakfast buffet, one of the best organised and packed buffet with so many options, all quality products and delicious. Generally a simple yet super luxurious experience that we didn't want to end! 20/10 advised.

Maybe if i nit pick, i would like to have a tad bit better WiFi, and would be nice a thermostat to see also the temperature. Also the doors, although they work perfect, you have to really slam it to close thus making a loud sound. But thats all so small details i dont really care.

Great location in middle of town

The staff were exceptionally helpful when we needed to find a hardware shop - an unusual request! Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were spacious and warm, but we could hear some noise from other rooms.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, so we went to eat elsewhere.

Could have been better!

The room was too expensive(152 Euro/night) for a small room with limited room facilities. There was not even a telephone to call reception and they didn't provide any complementary water bottles or welcome kit. I felt it was way to expensive for the service they provided. Only thing good was its location. It is near the train station, restaurants and the lake.

Fantastic Stay in a Fantastic Location

Location, Location, Location. RIGHT at the head of the little high street leading directly to the Lake. An older, more traditional hotel, a true Black Forest Experiance. Great wholesome breakfast with loads to choose from. FREE parking out front and to the side. Surprisingly quiet given the location but perhaps because the "day tourists" had moved on by late afternoon.

Rooms were a bit dated BUT if they were all modernised then it would take away the "traditional" hotel vibe in my opinion.

Good

We dined at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent. The bathrooms are spacious. You can tell that both the bathroom and the room have not been renewed recently, but they are comfy and tasteful. The location is nice; not directly on the lake, it is on the small town center, but it is delightful and still very quiet at night!

Beds were comfortable, but pillows were big and high and there wasn't a "spare" (a different pillow) in the room. The rooms have no A/C: understandable given the place is usually cool, but not pleasant during an heat wave like we had. There is no elevator (or at least we did not find it and nobody told us were it was); not a problem for our limited luggage but could be difficult! Breakfast was good (bread was excellent) but it has limited options.

The best fun we had in our trip with the waiters and staff at the hotel brilliant time.

We were 6 Bikers touring Europe and this hotel fits the bill with secure parking around the back of the hotel. Excellent breakfast both hot and cold which is the typical breakfast you will find in Europe anyway. The hotel is a typical old Germany Hotel but is kept very clean by house keeping staff good rooms comfortable beds good showers with hot water (unlike others we stayed in). Hotel Staff were excellent friendly and helpful to the point where they went out of their way to help us. The hotel is ideally placed to walk a short distance to the nearby Lake past shops, and restaurant's. The owner and his son who both run the Hotel along with the restaurant staff and chefs etc were the best we came across in all our time in Germany, we had no need to eat out as the service and the food at the hotel were excellent. Already planning to go back there and stay again

The 6 of us stayed there for 3 nights and really could not find nothing to dislike about the Hotel staff or were it is placed. Clean and tidy as was the town.

Charming hotel.

The location was perfect and the staff were welcoming (and funny). The breakfast was generous, with a good selection. Great free parking onsite. The room was spotlessly clean too.

We would have appreciated a kettle or a bottle of water in our room, but other than that we were happy.

One half of the bed had lost all support. One side light out. Front desk helped to order a taxi to get to a wedding that never came. No iron available in hotel to borrow.

Everything just went beyond my expectation, in a pleasant way for sure!

The room is super clean and quiet and so we had wonderful rest there. The deco and furniture are rustic and stylish while the bathroom is pretty modern and bright. Besides, the owners/receptionists are very warm-hearted people and they offer delicious breakfast!! I could only recommend this hotel to everyone else!

Just do not expect this hotel to be some modern hotel that we see in big cities. It is beautiful in a rustic and down-to-earth way.
