Hotel Gasthof Gribelehof

This is a quirky hotel situated above the city of Lienz. It has a rich history as a country estate. The rooms are a bit spread out, but more than adequate with views of the mountains. Dinner is in one restaurant a short outdoor walk from the main building and breakfast is in another older dining room area in the main building . Breakfast perhaps a bit more basic than other Austrian hotels but fine. Fairly wide dinner selection, and my choice of a very tasty house salad and lamb stew was outstanding.

There are lots of stairs and no lift, so if mobility issues are a concern it would be a good idea to ask for a room near the front desk.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful views from our room and the hotel grounds. Also had a really good meal in the evening at the hotel restaurant, and breakfast was good the next morning. Felt very idyllic being up above Lienz. Staff were very helpful with our lack of German speaking!

Nothing - all good :)

Lovely traditional guesthouse

Proximity to Lienz, room was a good size

Parking was a nightmare, no good for sports car. The ambience of the place was confusing, random bits of furniture, outside looked tired with run down garden and terrace. Not worthy of the price or rating on booking.com
