Hotel Sonne is a comfortable hotel right in the center of Lienz, a quick walk from the train and bus stations. The interior of the building itself is definitely dated and a bit austere, but that really didn’t impact my stay. My room was comfortable and had a fantastic view of the mountains. The breakfast options were great, and I appreciated that breakfast itself started at 6:00 (I’m an early riser). The staff were friendly and accommodating. I didn’t have time to try the sauna or the gym, but I’m glad they were included. The price was fair and good value.

What a disappointment. The hotel is undergoing renovations. They did not mention this on the booking site. Roof top bar not available. Outside seating in the middle of construction. Condition of hotel appalling. The staff were lovely and room was clean but very tired dated with no appeal.

Property is well located. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good - fresh squeezed OJ. Hotel itself is a bit tired and would benefit greatly from new carpeting and paint in rooms and halls.

The hotel is very rundown. The blinds in the room didn’t work properly. The windows were dirty. The bathroom fixtures were old and stained. The rugs were stained, worn out and not vacuumed. The only good thing to say was that the evening receptionist was very friendly, and the breakfast was good. We cannot recommend this hotel and suggest staying elsewhere. We cannot recommend staying here

This hotel is just in the city center of Lienz, walking distance to restaurants. Easy check-in, good size room and bathroom and we had a top floor view. Breakfast buffet are excellent offers natural orange juice and espresso coffee are the best. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Bed comfy too!

This hotel is in the centre of Lienz so it’s very easy to find restaurants for evening meals. The reception staff were very pleasant, chatty and eager to help. The room was clean, large and excellent value. Parking was free on the street outside or, for a small charge, in the hotels garage. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was loverly and staff friendly. The bed was a bit squeaky but otherwise ok. Nice outlook over mountains. It was a public holiday when we arrived so town was very quiet and nothing much open ( lots of restaurants though) different story in morning when we left, people every where so good atmosphere. Hotel Sonne was a very nice place to stay in the heart of Lienz. It was easy to walk to any spot in town and a very short trip to the main ski areas (five minutes car, 20 minutes walk).The breakfast buffet was great.
