It is a great stop off the beaten path on the Normandy Coast. We Loved the location right on the working harbor! The hotel staff was very welcoming and gave us great recommendations for restaurants near by.

Good location, plenty of space, easy parking and fair value for money.
This is a nicer Ibis than average and I really don’t have any complaints. Would happily stay here again.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times before - Port-en-Bessin is one of our favourite places to stop over in Normandy. It is a small but very interesting and quirky place with plentiful little shops and restaurants (the best oysters in France, according to my husband!) The hotel is very conveniently situated, a short walk from the town and has lots of easily accessible parking. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, the ones overlooking the working port are the best, it is fascinating watching the comings and goings of the fishing fleet! The staff are always really welcoming and friendly and even when the hotel is busy (which it often is) the quality of the service is excellent. They serve a great Ibis style breakfast with proper scrambled eggs!
Over the years we have seen the price of rooms increase significantly. Not surprising as it is a popular place to stay for people visiting the Normandy landing sites. We keep returning (and will continue to do so!) because we like it so much but we do sometimes wonder if the cost is justified.

Location, parking at the back well thought through and very safe and convenient. Rooms clean, comfortable and lovely bathrooms.
Nothing! Perhaps would have been nice to have a kettle in the bedroom but it was easy to ask for hot water.

Great location. Nice lounge area and good breakfast.
The beds had some sort of plastic/paper mattress protector which rustled every time you moved. The rooms were very basic, no kettle, no water etc.

Location. Clean. Good breakfast.
We had two rooms and requested to be placed near each other well in advance of our arrival. This request was not honored and we were placed on separate floors. One of the rooms assigned to us had a guest already staying in it. Because the key was not working (likely because it was dead bolted from the inside) a hotel staff member unlocked the door with a master key rather than double checking the room was not assigned to another guest. My wife and young son entered the room to find a grown man sleeping in the bed. They eventually found an open room to place them in twenty minutes later and well after midnight. The following morning- while attempting to use the hotel iron a circuit breaker flipped and the electricity to this room was lost. The hotel staff was apologetic and offered free breakfast, but at this point frustrations were high. When we asked for help- we were told there was only one person on staff that morning who could not leave the desk during breakfast service. The hotel was full - on a busy holiday weekend and they only had one staff member on site? These type of errors are not accidental- they are indicative of systemic problems with hotel management and made us feel unsafe.

Proximity to Normandy beaches and Memorial, museum was good. Quiet and relaxing area with some small shops and several places to eat & drink. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with a good variety of hot/cold items, coffee and juice. Good value for the price.

Great and quiet location, highly recommend a car or tour group with transport as we didn’t see any public transport around.
The town has a few restaurants around and is a nice place to walk through.
It sits between the US and British D-day beaches. So you can go either direction on days to see those. The furthest being about an hours drive or so. Lovely countryside to drive through.
Car park is around the back, had enough spaces for the time and had easy access to the hotel.
Reception and bar area was cosy, there’s a few board games you can play to chill out with a drink or food. TV often had sport on.

The stairs to the loft bed. We're in our 70's They were very tricky and made us nervous. We couldn't stand in the loft area.

The staff at the hotel are great, everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, right on the harbour with parking at the rear of the hotel.
The room was functional, a good amount of storage and comfortable beds
Breakfast was very nice, a good selection of cold items, plus scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and bacon. The dining area was busy but the staff were very efficient at getting everyone seated.
There was quite an unpleasant smell in the room, like stale food. The view from the room was of a service area at the rear of the hotel. The towels were very thin, they could do with being replaced.

I had a problem with my motorbike and the young lady at reception was fantastic! She was very helpful in resolving the issues regarding it.
I’m very grateful.
Thank you very very much 👏👌😇
There was no Tomato sauce to accompany my bacon and eggs with my breakfast. Some sliced bread would have been nice for my toast (Not Brioche) Not right with a breakfast to my taste having sugary toast

All good no problems

Great location for Bessin. Easy parking. Good selection of restaurants and coastal walks virtually on the doorstep. Also memorial to 47th Marine Commandos who took Port-au-Bessin near the end of the second world war at great loss to themselves.
The bed had a plasticised mattress topper so that even with air conditioning, it was sweaty in bed. We had no soap in our shower and, while I asked for some when we went out in the evening, it was not delivered so I had to tell the staff again when I left.

This is a busy hotel but in a quiet location on the harbour side. Port-en-Bessin is a really interesting place to stop as it is a working fishing port. We enjoy watching the comings and goings from the balcony in the room!
The hotel is on the opposite side of the harbour to the town but it is a pleasant and easy walk to the restaurants and shops. We have stayed here a few times before and find it an excellent base for exploring the Normandy sights.
The breakfast selection is very comprehensive but it gets really busy at popular times. Best to go early if you can!
