It had an upstairs! We had a nice little living room with recliner sofa, it was leather so in the heat it wasn't the best. The bed upstairs was a decent size, big enough that my partner didn't moan about my body heat but small enough that I could reach over and cuddle her. The bedding was lovely, duvet was abit thick for my liking but the misses liked it. There was also a TV upstairs which we didn't use but was a nice added extra. All in all it was quite homely. Waking up was quite relaxing, my back didn't hurt from the bed and because the windows were open the sun was shinning though and because of the trees around the hotel we woke up to the gentle sound of birds (not seagulls). I was able to park outside of the hotel room and the carpark has CCTV (not the whole car park though). Overall it was a nice, quiet, safe and homely place to stay. Well worth £80+ for a weekend and will definitely stay again, probably in the winter though.
The sofa couldve been a different material. There wasn't any AC which for a budget hotel I wouldn't expect but it was pretty toasty considering the only windows was on one side of the room so we didn't get and surge of cool air. The room had damaged to it such as torn wall paper and rotten wood around the door way caused by water damage in the bathroom. Attention to detail is abit meh. The lights aren't LEDs so you're waiting for them to turn on. Not enough plug sockets beside the bed. Only one each side and they power the lamps. We ended up buying a fan. Couldn't lock the door, it had a latch system which you couldn't lock. There was screws in the door handle latch so you couldn't lock the handle (there were two locks). No bar, no snacks but maccies is about a 5 mile drive down the road. Stairs was noisy, because of how quiet it is the creaks are pretty loud.

Good size room clean & well thought out design. Bed/pillows very comfortable. Great breakfast which is cooked to order. Location good for visiting Pontcysyllte Aqueduct
Walls very thin so disturbed by noise. As the hotel didn't seem to be full don't understand why rooms are allocated next to each other instead of staggering to reduce noise

It was very basic
No bar, no restaurant, hair in the bed, blind for velux window didn’t work, shower kept going boiling to freezing.
