Gasthaus Paxmontana

Loved the area and the guesthouse. The room was comfortable and the breakfast up at the main hotel was exceptional.

The room had all the basics but no frills, although in season things such as a kettle might be available down in the main restaurant.

Breakfast and location were both outstanding. The view from the dinning room was stunning.

As a family of 5, we had to stay in separate rooms which is not unusual. We were in the gasthouse which is separate from the main hotel building. They could only give us rooms on separate floors. In the evening the power went out upstairs, and everyone in that room had to change floors. They could not keep everyone together, so we ended up split into three separate rooms on two floors. They did not offer anything for our troubles and at check out did not even apologize.

I thought that we would be in the main hotel but we were in the guest house This meant that I had to be driven to breakfast rather than walk because I am on crutches Nothing was advised about it not being in the guest house but all the photos look like you are staying in the lodge which seems like a false indication of the accommodation. No tv, no tea making facilities, and quite expensive

Bathroom was an insult, so small that a taller persons legs would not fit there when seated on the toilet. No fridge in the room, also there was no fridge outside the room in entire building for the gusts to use - my family member has medication that has to be stored in the fridge and this accommodation was the only one in Switzerland that did not give us access to a fridge!!! No TV in the room, the binoculars were broken and we couldn’t see anything. One bed side lamp was not working - probably a broken light bulb that was not changed No mirror in the room except a small bathroom mirror Elevator in the guest house goes to 2 nd floor only- guests with mobility issues could have trouble accessing the rooms in 3rd floor The reception staff was not friendly at all, the waiters in the breakfast room ignored us as we did not speak German to one another ( even though we understand German very well) and to order coffee or eggs we had to call the waitress to our table, while all the other Swiss guests were asked what they want to order right after they sat down. It was very rude from them to treat the Swiss guests better than foreign. all in all we would say that this accommodation was very similar when it comes to service quality like most other places in Switzerland - it’s overpriced and the service you get is very poor compared to what you can get in other European countries for the same price or less.

On arrival at the guesthouse we learned, having parked and once inside, that we needed to check in at the main hotel. The signpost to the main hotel Was poor and we made the mistake of taking the car because we wanted to get on with checking in. As a result, check in was a long and drawn out process and some info ahead of time would have been appreciated. Other than that. It was as an amazing stay.
