Aparthotel Adagio Access Saint Louis Bâle

Clean, tidy, good facilités and lovely staff. Small kitchenette in room well equipped. Just a few mins walk to tram stop that takes you into heart of Basel.

This modern hotel is a good starting point for a few days in Basel, as it is well connected to the city centre by frequently served tram and bus lines, at a reasonable room price compared with Suisse hotels. Check-in is possible 24/7, and the little kitchenette enables self-catering. Sitting on the balcony and watching the semi-busy road while sipping a complementary coffee is relaxing. The pool is a nice add-on, mainly for families with young children (what can possibly be smelled at the end of a long and busy day). Serious swimming is not possible due to its short length; the Rhine river is the better choice in summer anyway for a swim. As an alternative for the breakfast at 15€ p.p. there is a lovely café-style bakery (boulangerie) just 50m down the road with an astounting selection of hearty and sweet pastry.

Some parts of the wall and carpet show signs of wear and should be refreshed from time to time.

We loved absolutely everything about this hotel. Friendly and helpful receptionists, welcome lemonade, coffee machine working early morning, comfortable bed, fridge, the position….

There’s nothing we wouldn’t like

The staff were amazingly welcoming, kind and helpful. Loved being so close to the border. Great having the pool. Breakfast was very good. Shower was powerful and easy to use. We were able to leave our bags to go for a final wander around on the last day.

Lighting could have been a little better in our room for reading at night.

Staff were not friendly. Swimming pool was not clean.

The check in was quick and the receptionist was very helpful. The location of this hotel is very close to the Swiss border and there are local buses to take you into Basel (Bale).

I have booked a superior studio room. It is tiny and has the feel of a bedroom, that has had a very small cooking space added to it. Most people who stay here are only here for a night, and probably do not cook. We have been here for a week and with a bit of juggling have been able to cook our evening meals in the room.

The room was very warm and thankfully being in the corner the doors opening onto the balcony provided fresh air. In the summer there is a fan for if it gets too hot, as there is no air conditioning.

The Aparthotel is being run as if you are renting an apartment, rather than being an apartment in a hotel. The means that they can stop cleaning the room every day. If you want daily cleaning or perhaps your sheets to be changed, it costs extra. They can also charge extra if you do not clean your kitchen before you leave. The sink has no draining board, so everything has to be dried up with a clothe immediately (not very hygienic). The cooking space is okay, but the pans provided are all too big for its small surface. This space really hasn’t been designed with meal cooking in mind. They have provided a kettle and a pod coffee maker, however both have short leads and take up all; of the counter space between the sink and the hob. If you do not clean the kitchen before you check out you will be charged 25 euros. 
You can pay for breakfast, but its expensive so we did not have breakfast in the hotel Instead using the artisan bread shop across the road. I have stayed in Accor hotels all over France, England and even in Japan. This Aparthotel in Saint-Louis is not to their standard. I really am not used to having to pay to park and an at 10€ a day, that is 70€. Sadly for us this was a very expensive place to stay for a week, especially when you add the cost of parking.

Everything was great, the apartment was very clean and spacious, with all the appliances that you need. The location is perfect, near Basel and not far away from the airport, and the taxi costs about 20 EUR. The staff are very helpful and polite and if I visit Basel again, I will come back here for sure.

A cheaper alternative than staying in Basel. The tram (11) was two minutes walk from the hotel. There were some nice touches; such as complimentary coffee, tea and pastries at reception. The bed was also fresh and comfortable, whilst the bathroom was clean. The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately, the property was let down by a number of issues. The free wi-fi didn’t work for my final two days. This badly affected my whole stay as I need internet access for work. There was also an infestation of ants in my room. This I reported to reception who offered me an alternative room. Other than the bed and bathroom the room was quite tatty with stains on the wall and on top of the headboard wall. The lampshades are also old and stained. Also there were nails sticking out of the skirting board which I cut my foot on. Overall, the room could do with a deep clean and a coat of paint.

Great hotel, comfortable, clean room and great staff. Awesome location, very quiet place. Check in was super easy and staff were very helpful and made us feel very welcome.
