Comfortable hotel, central to Stellenbosch

Beautiful house and large, quirky rooms. Staff were brilliant, especially Wendy. Small repair quickly done. Good breakfast, nice pool.

One small thing - They use blinds (owner doesn't like curtains) but she doesn't get woken at 5.45am by the light! Despite being at the end of a cul de sac, it was very noisy with college sports events blasting music at rock concert levels from 6.15am. (This may have been worse than usual, as it was the new college term) it must disturb most of central Stellenbosch !

Small changes could really make this a great place to stay.

Good location in Stellenbosch town, easy and safe access to restaurants and shops in the town. Excellent secure parking.

There were a number of small niggly maintenance issues in our room (for example the shower taps were erratic inter alia) which could easily be remedied if the rooms were checked comprehensively. Also in the room the dressing table was very small and completely used up by the coffee station. With no other shelf space or towel racks in the room or bathroom it did make for a bit of a cramped feeling.

Rozenburg is situated in a beautiful part of Stellenbosch. It is next to a stream that offers a lovely, easy walk. We watched squirrels and birds playing on the lawn as we ate breakfast and swam in the pool.

Everything was more than I expected. Our stay was relaxing and we were able to walk around Stellenbosch as well as experience the vineyards through an organisation that collected us from our accommodation.

Just lovely!

Very lovely Guesthouse located in a quiet area. Nice garden with a swimming pool for relaxing. Dorpstreet with all the restaurants are just around the corner. The team also organizes tours to wine farms. Very friendly staff!!!

A lovely two night stay in Stellenbosch.

Our rooms were large and lovely and beds very comfortable. The garden and pool area were Beautiful and it was great to have a secure parking area within the grounds. Being able to have brekfast outside on the terrace was great and the manager and all the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Great location...steps away from Dorp street.

A lovely few nights spent is Stellenbosch and surrounding areas.

Great location for Stellenbosch and surrounding areas. Just a 10 minute walk to most places in Stellenbosch. The gardens and staff were lovely.

The rooms whilst comfortable were not very sound proof. The doors had big gaps around them and the door locking system caused a lot of noise as there are lots of keys on the ring and with the lack of good fitting doors the sound really travels, as do the voices of other guests coming and going. Consequently we were woken late in the evening and early in the morning to the sound of doors being locked and guests moving around. We had a lot of confusion with our room as the lady that checked us in, again very lovely but sadly didn’t seem quite with it, put us in a room for 3 nights when there were other guests checked in to that room after 2 nights🥴. We talked through the issue for about 15 minutes before she seemed to understand the problem where it originated and what the solution was. The poor house staff had to clean 2 rooms very quickly and we had to move all our things to another room for our last night.

A lovely overnight experience during a conference stay in Stellenbosch

I enjoyed the spread of delicious fresh fruit and freshly baked scones for breakfast in the beautiful garden. The location is next to the beautiful Eerste River green area, wonderful for walks.

The offers for cooked breakfast were limited to only fried or scrambled eggs and bacon, no omelette or vegetarian options.

Everything!! The location was very central for restaurants and wine tastings. The room and bed were comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. We were given restaurant recommendations and Wendy and Mari helped with dinner reservations. I would highly recommend staying here

Beautiful guest house at the end of a quiet cul de sac with easy access to great food and drink

Staff were very attentive but always in the background. Breakfast on the terrace in the sun - wow! Rooms well appointed with beautiful linen and tasteful furniture.

Not enough power sockets by desk. I have to disconnect the fridge to switch the table lamp on. I find this a common problem in some hotels - not expensive to correct but makes a big difference to the user!

A little oasis right in Stellenbosch, yet quiet for a great rest. The room was lovely, bright, and nicely decorated, loved the Nespresso machine. Breakfast was arranged early for my colleagues and I and was lovely too with fresh croissants. I will return for sure when work brings me back to that neck of the woods.

Because I needed to dry and style my hair, the plugs were very far from a mirror. This is a common ergonomic complaint and I find even top hotels never really get the plug mirror thing quite right.

Overall, we had a wonderful, comfortable and safe stay at Rivierbos!

The check in and staff were so welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The location of Rivierbos Guest House was very central (yet quiet and safe in a cul-de-sac) and we mostly walked everywhere we wanted to go to there. The beds were very comfortable and the room had an air con.

The TV reception was not very good, though we did not watch much TV at all, so we never let them know this. An invertor or solar possibly, to enable some minor items to be on such as for charging phones, a lamp etc, might be helpful during load shedding.

Breakfast was good and sufficient. Room was a bit tight with double/queen size bed and not much on offer from the DSTV subscription. For tourist stay the location is good. In our case we needed to visit University departments and this would have been just to far to walk.
