The Swan at Grasmere- The Inn Collection Group

Great location . Friendly staff and cosy accommodation .

Would have liked a room with a quieter view as on the main road

It’s in a good position - dog friendly although it wasn’t very clear what were the dog areas - I was told a couple of times to move as it wasn’t a dog area The food was excellent - we had breakfast and dinner which were very good

We were three ladies with dogs and were in the annex upstairs so it was a bit difficult taking cases etc up on our own

Peace and quiet.

Not a lot

The location was great, right on the edge of Grasmere village. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good.

The property is a bit run down. In our bedroom (no 31) we had the smallest bathroom I’ve ever been in. It was difficult to manoeuvre yourself around the toilet to be able to close the door and you were in danger of burning yourself on the heated towel rail when squeezing past it to get in the shower. The room had an adjoining door to next door which was not soundproof at all and we could hear every word of their conversations and were woken by them at 6 in the morning on the day they left. Beds are not particularly comfy and would benefit from mattress toppers.
