Close to Grasmere and on an excellent walk
On a main road, although traffic noise OK despite having a front room. No non slip mat in bath shower.

Spacious bedroom, large comfortable bed, clean. Bathroom small but adequate and clean. Food was just 'pub food' but it was well cooked, enjoyable and in generous portions.
Public rooms were uninviting and not comfortable, in many cases eating was in a corridor. The staff have no idea how to interact with guests and make guests feel valued - they need management guidance. If you just want a bed for the night the hotel is fine, if you want to enjoy the experience of staying at a hotel you need to look elsewhere.
