It was adequate for what we wanted

IT was a nice room although small, but clean...

was given a room that was too dificult to get to with my disability, even though I requested a suitable room, In the end was given a smaller room on lower floor...... we didnt like eating in the bar for our evening meal ...breakfast was in a pleasant room but food wasnt very hot, and We gave up on the toaster as it took too long to toast.

Really nice hotel,.located perfectly for town centre.and all nearby restaurants bars and shops. Comfortable bar. The hotel spotlessly clean. The rooms are comfortable and modern. The beds are really comfortable. The team her from reception, to house cleaning to breakfast staff and bar staff and evening staff are all super professional and really friendly, they all been so helpful and really go that extra mile. Breakfast at this Hotel is really top notch, a great variety of quality ingredients, booked to a high standard and well presented. Served in a grande room with views over the town centres historic buildings and high street. Highly recommend.

Elevator number one clunks a little, I imagine it falling from floor 3 floor 1 but I'm sure it nothing really, it hasn't stopped me using it at all 🤔. If you're worried about it, use the second elevator, then this one will always be free for me 😉😉😉

Perfect location for town centre, perfect stay

Same as previous previous reviews there is nothing not to like about this, from the location to the amazing and helpful team at Kings hotel. Recommend going to breakfast a little early and people watching from the widows of the grande room while you tuck into a balanced breakfast and a few coffees 💛 Highly recommend

Avoid the first lift, the second is a much nicer ride 🤔😉

The hotel was very conveniately located,The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, thank you Shannon and the other receptionist with the blonde hair, who took care of the flowers we bought. The breakfast was very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Although we were lucky to get a parking space in the hotel car park, it wasn't made clear that there was only limited parking spaces, at the time of booking. We could have done with a few more tea bags and milk in the room on arrival.

The staff were amazing hotel was immaculate. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Car parking facilities were inadequate for the size of the hotel. Had to park overnight in a car park quite a walk away from the hotel. Had to drop mum off as she has mobility issues, then got to park my car up overnight, no ideal as the weather was bad.

Although everything worked and the room was clean the hotel has a ‘tired’ feel about it. Breakfast was only ‘okay’ with rubber fried eggs, no mushrooms left and only one VERY stale croissant I’m the basket. When mentioned to a young waiter he was disinterested to say the least. He was the exception that proved the rule in that he was the only ‘unhelpful’ person on the staff.

Not ideal

The property was clean and tidy

We had to complain twice about the noise in the middle of the night. The second time I had to go to the room in question with the staff. We were then moved rooms at 1am, as they couldn’t guarantee the noise would stop. No acknowledgment of this the day after. Then we messaged about left items because we moved rooms and they said they had them. I went on the Monday morning and nobody had an idea. I then had to revisit on my lunch to pick the items up as they had found them again

- Long walk plus 2 separate lifts just to get to the room. - Dirty room - stained lamp shade, extremely grimey/greasy carpet leaving grease stains on clothing when kneeling down to tie shoe laces - small hole in ceiling above the bed? - at 04:30 - No cold water - couldn’t adjust shower temperature and Luke warm water coming out of cold water tap so unable to drink. - Light bulb missing from bed side light.

Location in centre of town great, interesting layout how the building is above several different shops, good use of town centre space.

A few bits of the hotel looked tired upstairs, some bits of carpet well worn on stairs. Some problems navigating to room with unusual layout of building.

Standard of a far cheaper hotel

No cold water in the room so couldn't brush teeth or have a glass of water. Toilet didnt flush. Felt like general mis-management in the hotel and couldn't really care less. The room was very very small - hardly enough space to walk around the bed. Clean and comfortable but definitely not worth the cost.

Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival

Our room was very near the lift so everytime the lift.was used we could her the noise of the doors, the mechanics and also the people waiting to get in our out of the lift. Also the noise of bedroom doors slamming went in all night as did the noise of.people chatting along the corridor. We had very little to no sleep!

Clean, comfortable with helpful staff and well located

The staff and the room were very good and the hotel was really well located. You do need a taxi or bus from the train station but it's only £5-6. The stay was better than I expected in all departments except perhaps dinner. The evening menu is very limited so we ate elsewhere. It was warm and comfortable and I would definitely go back and recommend as a midrange basic hotel.

Vegans and veggies are not catered for and their 'special sausages' were inedible. Mash, peas and carrot squidged into a sausage shape is a bit 1950s guys. Try Heck or similar, any supermarket will oblige. Other than that, the breakfast was very good and I would stay again.

There was a bath. Comfortable bed..

Noise from the ballroom. Over excessive noise. Then noise all night from the air conditioning fan. Sounded like a constant washing machine. Never will I stay there again. That is the third time I've stayed there. The first night was excellent. the other two times an absolute nightmare. If you decide to stay here. Take some ear plugs. Paint on the walls. Mucky marks.

The lighting in the room was poor for getting dressed and applying makeup, the bathroom was bright but because it was spotlights it was impossible to apply makeup as it caused shadows, although this was the only fault for me Thanks
