Always a comfortable stay however do feel housekeeping has deteriorated since last visit. First day room not serviced properly, no biscuits on hospitality stay - when you staying in a Premium Room you do expect this. Second day the bathroom sink and surrounding area not cleaned, hospitality tray area not cleaned, toilet not cleaned Shower tray had yellow marks down the side which could have easily been cleaned with a bathroom cleaner - gives off an unhygienic/bacterial vibe which is not good. Every mirror in the room needed a good clean - all marked and stained, thick dust on base of TV stand. Overall the room though comfortable I felt is in need of a good deep clean including carpet which was heavily stained and an upgrade. However did not ruin our stay as good location. free parking and a nice meal Saturday evening - staff all friendly. Just needs more of an eye kept on housekeeping and a change from Starbucks coffee in the bar/lounge area!

Very good breakfast selection of cereals, fruit, bread, pastries.
Convenient location - near start of former rail trail to Selby, also on bus route into city centre
Condition of some doors and painted surfaces quite poor due to age and damp. Refurbishing needed.

Our room was larger than expected and clean. However, the bathroom is extremely small but again clean.
There was a good choice of food available at breakfast.
The location suited us as we used public transport when going into the centre of York and buses were frequent.
We would have preferred a safe in the room.

Staff were friendly, location was good.
Rooms dated having been updated endlessly over the years with cheap fixtures and fittings, shower was a waste of time, hardly any pressure at all. Breakfast lukewarm at best.
