Great location and characterful property
The service at breakfast was awful - waited and waited to have order taken then had to chase - they were very inflexible when we said we’d have to cancel a nights stay down from two nights to one so had to pay for both but that’s not their fault that we had a change of circumstances

Very central to centre of Woodstock. Room clean, fridge and coffee machine in the room.
The two sash windows in the room were not clean, residue of stickers on the glass and as we opened the windows all the time we were there the window sills very dirty too. I did inform the lady on the reception when we left/checked out so they are aware of this so will hopefully have this cleaning completed for the next guests.
Menu choice very limited for a 4* hotel.

Super location right in the town centre. Plenty of parking and reasonable at £5 for 24 hours. Nice Old Worlde hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, very clean, comfortable and warm. Lovely big bathroom with good toiletries & robes. Evening meal was tasty and a good selection on the menu.
There was a little disruption outside the bar - no fault of the hotel - and quickly over but the manager offered us free drinks straight away to compensate which we thought was a nice touch
Although the bedroom was warm and cosy the bar and restaurant area were really cold. The barman told us that they usually have an open fire but that they had run out of wood! It did spoil our enjoyment of those areas a little and made us decide to skip dessert!
I would prefer a phone in the room - when we realised there was only one Breakfast tea bag and two milks you couldn't call housekeeping or reception. I tried ringing the hotel on my mobile but no answer so in the end my friend had to go down in her robe and slippers to reception - not ideal.

We enjoyed the room, the breakfast buffet was excellent. The location was wonderful.
We arrived midafternoon, too late for lunch. It would have been nice to have soup of sandwiches available in the bar area.

Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Dog friendly.
Bar was cold despite a log fire that wasn't throwing out much heat. No curtains added to the cold atmosphere in the bar.
Our room was on the small side.

Friendly , helpful staff. Fab log fire. Super comfy bed. Good car parking facilities .
Cobwebs in the room and dust on base of lamp .
For the money could be a bit cleaner , but would stay again . Overall good experience .

Always a great experience so historic with comfortable well equipped rooms and good service
Booking.com advertise a £30 dinner menu but they no longer do this as an add on to the B&B

It was a pleasant place to stay. Inexpensive.
It's a shame. Used to be a great place. Clearly increased costs have put them on a back foot. Staff all good but atmosphere is lacking and food quality not great. Breakfast was substandard and not offered toast or add ons. Was told I could have coffee but a cappuccino would be an extra £4. Turned up and was milky coffee. Dinner was better but bar feels like a waiting room.

Location great, good size rooms and the building has lots of character!
Bathrooms and shared spaces are tired. The bar & restaurant appear to lack effort - probably explaining why they’re quiet in the evenings.
Staff friendly but breakfast was a let down: - service wasn’t great - first day we were offered the full breakfast menu for cooked food. The following day, we ordered the same, then after chasing up the food we were told it was buffet only where the ‘hot’ food was warm at best. Just all a bit odd!

An excellent location to spend New Year’s celebrations with brilliant food and excellent service,
Nothing to say!

Check in was great with a lovely helpful receptionist. We stayed in a King Size room in the courtyard # 5 which was nice, comfortable and large with a sofa - the bed was very comfortable. Coffee & nice toiletries, iron all included. Breakfast was basic but nice with good quality products
Bar area not very nice with a poor choice of drinks - I guess with all the really lovely pubs/bars on the doorstep they can’t compete. Again the restaurant wasn’t very inspiring, so would not have chosen to eat dinner

The location and it was traditional
£193 standard room didn’t provide a bottle of water. The staff were not as welcoming as they could be. Breakfast was an extra £18 each - they waited for you to go to the buffet before they offered a cooked breakfast. Request a cafetière of coffee - otherwise it comes from a flask and is not very nice. If you request a cappuccino you pay extra! From a brand that’s got a good reputation - although it was nice I felt it didn’t offer value for money.

Gorgeous building; great location; excellent reception staff; lovely room; good parking facilities and dog friendly.
Very poor standard of bar and restaurant staff - probably not their fault as they clearly had absolutely no training ; very disappointing breakfast quality & choices.

Staying here is an annual event for me between Christmas and New Year. Even though the place has been getting tired looking, and I have been disappointed. However, this year it was beautiful. I do not know if I was just lucky with the room they gave me, but it was clean and comfortable and beautiful. perhaps the whole place is gradually being done up again.
Slightly wonky bed.

Location was good
After being upgraded to a suite the room upstairs had children in that seemed like were jumping off the bed at 10pm at night. Hotel did nothing until we went downstairs and complained. I appreciate old building but it was like thunder on the ceiling to the point I thought the chandelier was going to come down !!!

Our room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed our breakfast, and there was a wide choice of foods on offer. The location was excellent for visiting Blenheim Palace.
My daughter and I both felt cold during the night, which affected our sleep.

I had a large comfortable room with a beautiful four poster bed on the ground floor. My suitcase was very heavy and the staff accommodated me by changing my room from a first floor room, which would have required ascending stairs, to a ground floor room. I was very grateful and pleased with their service.
The hearing worked fine, it was just a little noisy.

Breakfast was very good, overall it was very good value. A shame there were heavy footed people in the room above mine (3) which woke me before 7am and continued until I went for breakfast at 9. What were they doing??
Room 3 is a little dark, only two ceiling spots in the room

The room was a little tired and could do with a bit of upgrading ,the floor creaked every step you made ,i realise this is an old coaching house and have taken that into consideration ,to make a hot drink was a performance in itself as there was no plugs near the kettle and used one by the dressing table ,for 2 nights it was bearable ,the breakfast was sufficient .I did like the fact it was close to Blenheim Palace which is very good .
The coffee served with breakfast was not very nice as i do not drink coffee this is my wife's opinion ,as i previously said could do with an upgrade to the room we were in .

Not enough staff at breakfast, food wasn’t great , ordered Panini for lunch it was a bread roll supposed to be feta cheese it was a bit of grated cheese

Great location
rooms were too cold. We told reception twice and they came and adjusted the aged air con but it made no difference. The serving staff either didn’t know what they were doing or were grumpy.
