The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The room was delightful, spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The location was perfect, want to stay again!
There was a miscommunication regarding an early checkout/breakfast and the reaction of one of the staff was not good but the hotel responded quickly and resolved the issue to my satisfaction.

Location is perfect, in the heart of Woodstock, a lovely small town. Entrance to the grounds of Bleinham Palace is literally just at the end of the road, a 2min walk. Room was lovely, decor still in keeping with the old building but loads of space an and nice modern bathroom. Breakfast was perfect. Parking at the rear of the hotel, but can get full on busy weekends.
Bar area could be bigger and better, we preferred to visit the pubs nearby, there's plenty to choose from. Have stayed in another hotel which did have the perfect bar area, but the hotel rooms and facilities were not as good, so our choice was to and would be again to stay here.

The hotel itself has a rich history being a coaching inn dating back to the 1200s, it was fascinating to learn about it and it's place in the local community. The hotel is in a great location, it was wonderful to be so centrally located in Woodstock so we could walk to all the nearby shops and pubs, and so close to Blenheim Palace for our visit. Also it was really good to stay somewhere with car parking on site as street parking was limited in the area. The staff were all lovely and helpful, the reception staff in particular looked after us very well.
Although it's a historic building, some of the communal areas of the hotel and features of our room felt very dated and not well maintained - the crooked staircases and wobbly bannisters in particular felt rather unsafe, so folks who are unsteady on their feet may struggle to get to the upper floors. The restaurant menu was very limited selection to begin with, but a fair number of items on both the main and breakfast menus were unavailable as they had run out, something which surprised us as we would expect supplies to have been well stocked at the start of a Bank Holiday weekend. Overall, despite the rustic charm of the place and the immediate area, it really struggled to justify the hefty price of our stay.
