'Wes Anderson' vibes but a bit hot

It is a great location and the hotel has a bit hotel 'Wes Anderson' vibes. It looks like an older hotel from a movie set. Not that it is old and falling apart; but imaging painted ceilings and floral carpeting. The breakfast room is like a movie set from a victorian movie. The setting is beautiful, and the rooms are large and clean. Very nice bath products and the lobby staff speak exceptional well English and are friendly.

What we did not like was that we couldn't control the heating in the rooms. It was very hot, and because the room is next to a square we couldn't open the windows because of noise. So it was; heath or street noise. We tried to manage the heating but it didn't change and stayed hot. We mentioned it when checking out we got an apology. But we still paid full price plus 2 euros for the minibar. The breakfast could be better, but we know Italians are not big on breakfast. So there wasn't much normal bread. There were lovely pastries and fruit. The breakfast staff kept avoiding us while we wanted to order a coffee, but think they dont speak much English and they were probably afraid to communicate or something.

Definitely a great experience!

The building is of historical value, therefore being there was an experience per se. The breakfast was good, the staff was polite and hard working. The room was basically a large apartment and it was exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Unfortunately, the staircase to our room (rooftop) was not the most comfortable, but this has to do with the fact that the building is 5 centuries old. So, no big deal, to be honest!

Excellent location and traditional building with a lot of history.

Check in process very formalistic and OCD. The rooms are small, so you may wake up in the morning with a headache because they're overheated from the floor below.. The breakfast is not at all "very good": The scrambled eggs are plastic and cold, better not try them. Prosciutto quite okay. No toast, you have to ask for it.

A delight in the centre of Reggio Emilia.

A welcoming, delightful, historic hotel in the heart of Reggio Emilia! Right in the heart of the city, close to all of the sights - such as the piazza's and theatres. The hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were fabulous. Staff friendsly and helpful. Would hightly recommend staying here.

Only improving with age!

Gem of a historic hotel. We had last stayed here in 2007 and it has been refreshed and now has a little gym and a bar that serves light dinner. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the main square.

The parking was very tight but thankfully the hotel staff were always on hand to help.

Coming from Australia it was so lovely to stay in a hotel with such history🩷

The location was perfect- we went to a restaurant called Bistro Conossa about a 10 minute walk and the food was AMAZING! Highly recommend- the lovely lady Francesca recommended this restaurant and we thank her so much! The hotel had so much history. Loved our stay.

Old world charm in the heart of Reggio Emilia

The history of this building. Right in the heart of the city center, many many places are in an easy walk from the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It is an old world style hotel with old world decor.

If you are driving with a car, getting to the hotel through the ZTL is a bit tricky, so be sure to ask for specific directions.

Central and stylish

The hotel is located in the very heart of elegant Reggio Emilia. It is stylish and furnished with a typical Italian taste. The staff at the reception are extremely kind and helpful. I was given a spacious studio on the uppermost floor of the building. The bed was huge and comfortable. If I come back to Reggio Emilia, I would definitely choose again Hotel Posta. Thanks for everything!

Fabulous , beautifully kept, extremely comfortable and well run historic hotel in the heart of town.

Fabulous hotel experience. Beautiful historic building, great central location, friendly, helpful staff, excellent breakfast. We really appreciated the fresh fruit salad each morning in the beautiful breakfast room. Bed was really comfortable. Highly recommend, wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Reggio Emilia.

Stunning old-world hotel with modern amenities at a great value.

The Hotel Posta was exactly the type of hotel we love: elegant, beautiful, wonderfully located and friendly, all at a great rate. It is the oldest hotel in Italy, set in one of the oldest buildings, beautifully modernized. It is right in the Reggio Emilia center, between the two piazzas -- it couldn't be more convenient in this gorgeous town. This was our first stay when we arrived for our many-city Italian adventure, and what a way to start! The staff is very helpful, and as a hotel (vs. an apartment), they have all the amenities you would want, including a small workout room, and an exceptional breakfast complete with local cheeses and hams, great coffee, eggs and pastries. The dining area is gorgeous. They even provided a complimentary small toiletry item I had forgotten to pack. The cleaning staff were also very very kind for some various needs we had. The room itself was beautiful, with a large bathroom and plenty of storage, plus a safe. Being in the heart of things meant short walks to meals, drinks, or shopping. We plan to return to RE some day, and we will not stay anywhere else. Hotel Posta is simply gorgeous, in the old world hotel way.
