Lovely setting & walk in grounds at dusk. Good choice of breakfast, in delightful, period room. Likewise, dinner. Spacious 2nd floor bedroom, and bathroom (shower very easy to use).
Mattress a little hard.

Set in beautiful countryside with lovely views from the gardens.
Good breakfast both continental and cooked.
The game pie at dinner was delicious.
Saw several gorgeous and spacious rooms with beautiful views as hotel was having a wedding showcase event.
Although set on 3 floors, one being a mezzanine, the layout was complicated with a labyrinth of corridors. We were sent up alone to find our room with unclear instructions and wandered for some time before finally finding it up in the eaves of the property with a low window and a high one, no view at all and balconies below us of the rooms on the floor below. Luckily it was too cold for anyone to use them, but in summer would be noisy. The room and ensuite were very small and not very warm.
Vegetables at dinner were almost non-existent, consisting of three tiny pieces of tender stem brocolli.

A warm welcome from all of the team, lovely surroundings with the added bonus of the guest lounge. Large and comfortable room. Excellent food - really nice quality. We very much enjoyed our stay here and thought it was excellent value for money.

Breakfast selections were good.
Dinner selection could have been better
Room was small but clean and well equipped
Breakfast could have included a fresh fruit salad or assortment of cut fresh fruits, berries, etc

The hotel is in a lovely location with ample parking and nice grounds. Staff were friendly. Overall good rate for bed & breakfast.
This was my second visit where I had a disturbed night due to the noise being carried from adjoining rooms. The lack of soundproofing, possibly reflective of an older property, means that I am unlikely to visit again.

Dinner and included breakfast excellent. Lovely cosy lounge area with open fire and drinks service
Room allocated was very compact. Would have liked more information from Booking .com at time of booking so could have selected a larger room

Beautiful location in a picturesque setting. Family room was spacious and had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast spread. Huge Christmas tree that really added to festive cheer.

Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel was very clean.
The location and grounds were stunning.
The furniture in the rooms was a little dated and tired.
EV charging was at a flat rate no matter how much was used. I only needed a top up so wasn't prepared to pay ÂŁ20 but would have used it if it was cheaper or paid per KW.

Beautiful and tastefully decorated hotel with exceptional facilities, stunning views and very warm and welcoming staff.
TV in room didn't play to correct time but was easily rectified by using iPlayer.

The staff were lovely, extremely helpful. Nothing was a bother. The Christmas tree in the stairwell was fabulous.
The room was above the entrance, and after the Christmas parties the guests loitered outside being quite loud. Not enough for me to complain, but it would be nice if there was at least a sign up asking people to keep it down.

Comfortable country house with Wedgewood connections, good breakfast, good price.
The room was a bit cramped, end of corridor, under the eves, maybe a servants room? due to price or booking via 3rd party maybe?

The surroundings are lovely.
The breakfast service could do with improvement – we stayed two nights; breakfast delivered on the first day was pretty basic and poor – the next day much better (like they had completely different chefs in on each day). Also took ages the first day (40 mins to get served hot food) and the next day was much quicker. They ran out of the famous oat pancakes as well... service was pretty basic.

There were CATS
The location was STUNNING
A well kept pint of Wainwrights
The view was quintessential England
More cats perhaps?

Good range of breakfast choice, always well cooked and nicely presented. Never get rushed to finish, and nice views whilst eating.
Realistically, not much. But tea and coffee is always better with fresh milk, so if you ever decide to put a little beer cooler in the room..........

Lovely venue and the staff were very friendly and helpful Beautiful grounds and quiet location
The food at our evening meal was a little disappointing. Also the soundproofing between rooms seemed to be poor and the beds were not very comfortable

The roon was nice and the staff were pleasant and the grounds were also nice I can't fault the hotel itself
Unfortunately the food was not good I had 3 bad meals out of 4 one was particularly bad with what seemed like almost raw gammon served to me

A better wine we’d list in the bar would have been great . Breakfast service was very slow on both days .

Have visited this hotel several times and have never been disappointed. Food in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner is excellent. The rooms are beautifully clean and fully equipped with everything you need. There is a lift which is very useful when carrying heavy cases. Plug sockets are conveniently positioned on both sides of the bed(s). Receptionists are extremely welcoming and helpful. Parking close to the entrance is easy. Disabled parking available if required.
Everything was lovely

The Perfect Stay and Bella Made It Even Better!
What a wonderful stay! The hotel is full of charm and history, with so much character in every detail. The lounge was the perfect place to unwind, and the beds were so comfy we slept like a dream. Everything felt safe, welcoming, and cared for.
The staff were absolutely lovely and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. But the real highlight has to be Bella the cat, she completely stole our hearts! She even decided to sleep in our room every night, which made our stay feel extra special. Such a gentle, affectionate little host!
We left feeling relaxed, happy, and already planning our next visit. A truly memorable place, made even more magical thanks to Bella.
The bar was a little impersonal, didn’t fit the character of the hotel and was quite hard to hear each other when it was busy, but we took our drinks to the cozy lounge instead.

The breakfast was as expected and we enjoyed the evening meal staff very helpful and polite the hotel was very friendly and welcoming and loved the atmosphere there
Only one problem was the room was cold upon entry until we noticed the radiator was turned off after this all good

Excellent stay as always. Every staff member was welcoming, friendly and attentive. This week the location and hotel were very peaceful and relaxing as there were no events. Lovely country Manor.
The Autumn menu for us was difficult this time as many dishes seemed very high in salt content. The roast on Sunday was lovely as was the pear and Stilton salad.
