Fabulous food and cosy location bar staff were friendly and helpful
I accidentally booked twice and despite spending over £200 on food and drink during my stay the accomodation would not refund my double booking so for 6 people we had 6 rooms booked..the lack of consideration put me off wanting to go again.
There was also a wedding in the hotel and hair and beauty started outside our room at 6.50am!!!!

Location is great - in a nice part of the country side. Room was laid out well and the bed was comfortable. The evening meal was decent, although the menu was a little limited. Bar selection was good. The place had a good feel to it. Breakfast was fine.
We weren’t told that there was a wedding party taking place when we booked. Quite rightly, the wedding party were having a great time, however, they took over the place with loud music until 12.30 am and then people talking loudly until gone 2am - not relaxing at all and led to a poor nights sleep. Absolutely no fault of the wedding party - it was their special day. However, when I informed the manager that we’d had a bad nights sleep, he said that they had made booking.com aware of the wedding and they should have informed us! If they had then I wouldn’t have booked that night as it spoiled what could have been a very enjoyable stay. Shame really.

Me and my partner met here last year. We wanted to come back as the Shireburn holds special memories but is also a lovely venue. The staff made the stay extra special by making sure we had a lovely double room for our stay. The staff are all so friendly and attentive and it was lovely to chat to them all. We started the evening after check in with a few drinks in the bar area where the fires were lit and it was a cosy environment. Afterwards we decided to stay at the Shireburn for dinner which was a decision I do not regret. The food was lovely and again the atmosphere in restaurant area made it even nicer. The room was spotless and the bed was super comfy. I can’t wait to come back again and make this a special place to re visit.

Cleanliness, quiet.
Bathroom facilities are good
I stayed in Room 23. Bed was very uncomfortable, upon checking out left with upper back pain. Service could have been a bit better especially for my first night there. Had to wait at the bar at one point for at least 10-15 mins to catch someone's attention as the bar/restaurant area was pretty much empty.
Was difficult trying to identify staff members upon arrival, one staff member in particular just listening to music through headphones (over the head) whilst working his shift in the eyes of the customers.
No shops to go around in the area so quite hard for solo travellers who can't drive. Need to drive 10-15 mins way at least to get to your nearest shop.
Didn't want staff going into my room to clean until I left that morning. Message completed ignored as when I left I had a small amount of money and a pair of airpods in plain sight and it's all about safety and security for me. So obviously remember to take everything with you or lock them out of sight.
Reception quite hard to find if your a first time customer there it's not plain sailing from the moment you arrive. Nobody to greet you either at the front door.
Staff didn't ask you how was your stay or if everything was ok upon checking out which was a first for me.
I unfortunately won't be going back there any time soon. For £170 for 2 nights I was very disappointed.

Excellent from the moment we checked in. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great food and lovely room. Excellent price. It was just me and my daughter having a night away and it was perfect. What more could you ask for?! We will definitely be back.

The service was excellent, the suite was very well equipped, the bath was large and comfortable, shower was warm, room was very cold to start with but the electric radiators didn't take too long to warm the room while we had dinner.
Water pressure was very low and hot water outside of the shower was virtually non-existent, thick dust behind the TV was disappointing and no shelving in the bathroom made things more difficult than necessary.

The food and facilities were excellent as was the service. The location is superb. The room although classed as a double was very small but clean and nicely decorated.
Perhaps a larger double room although the room was adequate for one night.

The staff were great, especially Jack who really helped make our visit a great experience.
The food was excellent and we enjoyed the beer.
There was a noisy extractor fan outside our window - we like to sleep with the window open so if I stayed again I’d ask for a room away from the fan.
Water pressure in the shower was low, I realise this is a problem with such an old building.

The decoration of the beamed property pays homage to an earlier period with an eclectic mix of seating in the bar/dining area with Lloyd Loom chairs and other very old style seating. The bedroom was a good proportion and decoration a delightful shabby chic. The bathroom was a good size. I only eat light at night and the crab cake starter on the starters menu was delicious. Breakfast as good. My Pet was made very welcome and there was good walking nearby.
Music at breakfast too loud.

The room was comfortable
No heating on, quite cold in the room. The steak and ale pie was as tough as boots, but, it wasn't actually a pie, meat and gravy served in a small dish, with a crust on top. This is not a pie......
Breakfast chioce not great.

Great location, good value for money.
Just feels like it could do with a bit of finesse. Tables sticky, paint chipped in rooms, messy office visible from reception. But not bad value for money.

The location of The Shireburn Arms was excellent and very peaceful. The room was spacious and very clean and both the evening meal and the breakfast were of the highest standard and very tasty.
I can not fault the The Shireburn Arms at all and will stay here again next time I am in the area. Superb.
