Comfortable, enjoyable and filled with the good humour and friendliness of an exceptional staff.

Breakfasts were all excellent. Luke produces a consistently high quality of food. We stayed for 5 nights and each breakfast was a treat. The 3 evening meals we ate in the restaurant were all delicious. A good range of dishes were available and the quality was consistently high. The Sunday dinners were a real treat! The wine list was impressive and the Shiraz chosen by my wife was most enjoyable and not overpriced.

The choice of cooked breakfast was somewhat limited on the menu - full English, eggs Benedict, veggie option - but Luke was very happy to adapt this to individual needs. For example, bacon sandwiches, poached egg on toast, etc. The quality was excellent. The coffee was particularly good.

Warm, inviting and comfy.

Lovely staff with a lovely welcome from Mandy. In fact all of the staff that were interacted with were warm and friendly and made us feel like we were regulars. The room was big and had everything we needed in it, including a decent sized fridge. The bathroom was ace and the shower was brilliant.

With the little extras in the room made the stay pure comfort

Staff very friendly , room lovely size with a fridge with two bottles of water and two bottles of pure orange juice and a small jug of milk for the tea and coffee etc, two bathrobes too , food in the bar was excellent inc apple and blackberry crumble ! , breakfast also matched the high standard of the evening meal .

Nice hotel , more of a pub with rooms above but good value and nice rooms.

Good location as we were visiting family. Staff were friendly. Room was decorated nicely and good bathroom with a good shower. Good English breakfast and had veggie option too.

Mattress was a bit hard for me and bed creaked when you got out of it. Bathroom door also creaked, needs some oil. This was a problem when getting up to go to the toilet at night.

The hotel itself weee beautiful, our room were beautiful, slight wear and tear however it’s an old building so to bd expected. Breakfast were lovely too.

Comfortable and friendly stay but better clean needed

Lovely staff very helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was really good and breakfast too. Room cosy and bed comfortable. Great location with free parking.

The bathroom was modern but needed a better clean, the shower head was really dirty and there was dust around the toilet and pink mould on the sink and toilet. No information in the room including WiFi information or how to work the tv which we struggled to turn off.

The breakfast was excellent. All the staff were very good and helpful, nothing was too much trouble

The one problem is breakfast isn’t served till 8 and realistically if you order a full English you don’t get it till 8:20. Whilst I totally understand it’s hard to keep a kitchen open longer for just a few rooms if you’re staying there for work (as I was) that’s just too late. 7:30 or even 7 would be much better.

A pleasure to stay there

Staff very welcoming, room traditional and clean with recently refurbished bathroom. Food fabulous- pie and a drink deal for £16. Lots of nice touches like fresh milk in fridge, a good tv, nice toiletries and teas. Excellent breakfast.

The staff and the food were excellent.

The place was noisy and lacked maintenance. Cobwebs were everywhere- both inside the rooms and mainly outside The decor was dark and depressing and the low light levels didnt help.

Really enjoyed our stay. A really nice pub, great room, good food and great breakfast. Gluten-free aware too - very important for is coeliacs! Staff really friendly too. At times the Ribble Valley can feel a bit stuck up but not here! Amazing walking around here as well!
