Fabulous food, wine and ambience in a wonderful country pub. The landlord was super friendly and we loved his wall of whiskey.

Situated in a beautiful little village. Pub was great. Very welcoming staff and cosy public rooms. Food was excellent and very generous portions.
We were in the Piggery which was situated at the rear of the property behind a wall. A bit dark and dank in the passageway which was also used as a storage area for two chest freezers. Disappointing. The room itself was comfortable but the windows opened up to an outside seating area and another storage area for barrels and outside furniture. Very noisy in the summer. Bathroom was very hot too. Couldn’t turn the towel rail down.

Although it was a very short stay, very welcoming and lively place. Managed a short walk around the village. If ever that way again would 100% want to stay here

This was such a lovely place to stay and eat. It's very rare that you find a place you want to take home with you - but this was just such a perfect pub. Great staff, tasty well served beers and wines and an amazing menu. The owner has a remarkable collection of whisky, with almost 500 bottles to try! I would certainly come back for another stay.
I liked everything about the place.

Lovely room, comfortable bed, coffee machine and nice selection of breakfast food and biscuits.
Would prefer a bath, some noise from staff emptying rubbish into bins, the room was not in the best position no view and overlooked outdoor bar area.

A very warm welcome by the owner Ed and we had a lovely room (the Piggery) for our overnight stay. It was a busy Sunday afternoon and we enjoyed an excellent evening meal in one of the smaller rooms by the fire. Next time we plan to eat in new restaurant area.

Our stay was superb. Nothing was too much trouble and Ed our host was fantastic. Our room, Lover Buck Lodge was fantastic. The bathroom was spacious with a walk in shower and plenty of clean towels daily. The bed was the low type and very comfortable. There was a room heater, fan, hairdryer, iron and board. The breakfast hamper was full of items and sat on top of a mini fridge containing bottled milk and water. There was also a coffee maker and kettle with plenty of teas, coffees, sugar and biscuits. The wooden flooring added to the room and there was a small built in wardrobe plus a drawer unit. Due to the opening hours, we could only eat at the Lower Buck on one evening of ours 3 night stay. The food was superb from a good menu and the bar was fully stocked with spirits and ales All in all our stay receives 10/10. We shall definitely be back.
Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Otherwise we could have sampled more off the menu.

Great pub, food was good pub food, great beers and great staff. Room was ok for size but approach to it and finishes in room need refining.
Upgrades due to approach and bathroom.

Great location in a lovely village. Great traditional pub with excellent landlord, great beers and very friendly staff. Room was a good size and comfortable. Had an evening meal which was pub grub.
Didn’t realise the place doesn’t provide a cooked breakfast and only offered a small selection of cereals in your room. Approach to room could be improved as well as better finishing in bathroom but I wouldn’t be put off by that.

Room was hot (it was a mega hot day).....and AC unit may be a good idea

Good location, big property, perfect for big group for night before my wedding. Clean and tidy. They had provided a great option of breakfast items like cereals and biscuits which were lovely !
The parking was a small problem as only got 2 cars around the back, so we had to park further down the road and walk with our bits.
The shower in the main bathroom wasn’t very powerful and was a bit dirty with hair in the plug holes.

One family member couldn't get in another establishment to join the rest of the family, so booked a room here. The room was separate from the pub, but overlooked the beer garden at the front. However, it was still very private with the windows blinds and curtain.
The room was large, as was the bathroom. Cereals, milk, tea and coffee were supplied for breakfast. The room was finished to a high standard and the bed large and comfortable.
The staff were very friendly and overall, an excellent room and location for a nearby wedding.
Nothing to dislike

Great location, fab owners and wonderful food
They don’t do breakfast onsite but leave you loads of lovely breakkie stuff in your room including fresh milk for tea / cereals / coffee in a fridge and there are 2 pubs locally who do cooked breakfasts so no issue

Lovely cottage with plenty of room for our group. It was clean, well presented and had all the charm that you’d expect. The open fire made for a cozy lounge room. There was a basket of breakfast treats left for us and some lovely local milk in the fridge. Waddington was great. The 3 pubs that we went in were full of character, friendly and offered good food. We will be booking again for next year.
Nothing negative to say

Lovely hotel in a lovely countryside setting. We stayed in the lodge which is separate from the main hotel which was really nice!
We had asked to check out an hour later but were told it wasn’t possible, so it was disappointing to find that nobody was available to check us out on the Sunday morning so it seems this extra hour could have been accommodated. No big deal though and didn’t affect our view of the hotel!

Ed the new owner was very friendly and welcoming.
The room had an overbearing and unwelcome smell. Suspect this may be a pet friendly room which is not our preference.
Shed like corridor entrance.
Bathroom cave like with exposed bit of pipework and stonework.
Proximity of courtyard seating, so close to bedroom window.

Beautiful setting, good village location and private parking.Friendly staff.
No teapot, would have liked some tea & coffee for the price.
