Stunning property great food and a lovely place to rest your head

Rooms are lovely, property it self is a beautiful building that has had some good investment and attention to detail.

Gym is small and lacks up to date equipment other than the 2 peloton bikes. It was also freezing cold in the gym. Looks like new features were expected soon. Food was delicious although on the higher side price wise. ££

The entire stay was good. I would absolutely stay again.

The lady on the front desk I found was rude to both myself and my friends, who were there for a wedding. (Not Hazel, she was lovely and very accommodating. It's a shame I can't say the same about the other lady).

We loved our beautiful 'deluxe' bedroom but the hi-light was the evening meal in the Brasserie, just superb !

Lovely little stay in Wansford

Lovely hotel, decorated very nicely! Staff were great and extremely friendly and helpful.

Our room was so nice, we got given a garden room which had a seated terrace outside however, it was so cold, even with the heating on 28 all night our room did not warm up

Would love to give a good review but I was so cold I can’t - particularly considering the price

Lovely old building and location , convenient for the main roads. Great shower and TV

The rooms in the side annex were uncomfortably cold in the day and particularly at night, even with the duvet doubled over. According to the staff if too many people crank the temperature too high the system can’t cope.

The bedside lights didn't work , couldn't find a switch to turn them on and off. We were there for a Christmas Party and that was odd as we couldn't oder a hot drink after teh meal we had to leave the party to go back to the hotel to them carry a hot drink back to the party

Breakfast service was a bit slow and inexperienced, poor turnover of tables without cutlery and clean up from previous diners and breakfast bar ran out of pastries over an hour before end of service

A lovely stay for business or pleasure. The food is amazing and staff very attentive.

The Christmas lights were going up so it was very pretty outside and a lovely light up Christmas scene by reception. My room was very tastefully decorated and the shower was amazing! It was so powerful and the on/off button can be turned on before you step in. I ordered room service for dinner as I was staying on my own for work and wanted to get some work done. The food was tasted so good. There is a gym which I used and had everything you need. The staff were lovely and walked me to my room when checking in and walked me to the gym as I couldn't find it.

Food ok, staff need more training

Service was not too good. Young staff need more training on basics, like clearing tables, and asking if you needed anything else.

Better interaction with staff at breakfast and dinner. I was 10 mins early for my dinner as I thought it would be nice to have a drink. I was told (not in a nice way) that I was too early and to wait in the bar. There I was ignored. No one asked if I wanted a drink. In general, the atmosphere of the place was not welcoming

Nice place, would stay again

Close to the A1 but far enough away to not be disturbed by the traffic. Lovely village setting and bags of character. Staff were helpful and the accommodation was clean and well maintained.

There was a long wait in the restaurant for our order to be taken and the food to arrive. The food and restaurant generally were great but the wait took away from the overall enjoyment.

Okay but not the best. Mixed staff with regards to service.

Evening meal in the restaurant and service of the staff. Very friendly and welcoming.

Requested extra pillows, didn’t get them. Size of bed, small for room size. Asked if we could check in earlier, receptionist told us she would come find us but didn’t. Try to charge us again for food that we had already paid for during the evening already. Felt very uncomfortable being challenged to relay what we had ordered.

Very enjoyable stay, wouldn't hesitate to back again

Location was good, close to where we wanted to go Breakfast was very enjoyable, plenty of choice and excellent service from the staff. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and attentive. The room was very clean and modern, The hotel building has a lot of history attached to it, and what a wonderful building it is, I noticed the Christmas brochure when checking in, wish I was staying there over the Christmas period !!
