We had a wonderful time at the hotel, the location is excellent, the garden and rooms are beautiful, and the quality of the restaurant is considered to be outstanding in Bali. Thank you to the staff for an unforgettable time and the chef for the wonderful food

The environment and architecture of the resort are awesomely designed. Location is near one of the most popular destinations in Bali - Ubud, and the 24-hour security at main gate provides a high safety and privacy during our stay. In addition, the complementary refreshments at check-in desk give us a pleasant surprise.

Breakfast could add more items and serve more mixtures of hot and refreshing Asian and Western foods. The plastic slippers in our room are not very comfortable.

It was huge. To get around to the spa and tea and reception from the room. But that’s honestly not a big deal we loved everything and would definitely go back

This property gives everything you want in a luxury holiday — and then some. As a travel agent, I’ve seen a lot of beautiful hotels, but few that embrace their surroundings as perfectly as Kamandalu. Locally owned and staffed by people who clearly take pride in their culture and craft, the resort feels authentic, deeply connected to nature, and completely seamless from start to finish. We were greeted personally on arrival, and because the team already knew our preferences, we were whisked straight to our villa to enjoy a welcome drink by the pool — exactly what we needed after a long trip. It set the tone for what became an unforgettable stay. Our Pool Villa was stunning: perfectly manicured gardens, a huge private pool, and an outdoor bath and shower that somehow felt both secure and completely freeing. Simple, beautiful, and functional — exactly what a luxury jungle escape should be. Breakfast was a highlight. I loved the buffet for its variety and freedom — I could craft my perfect breakfast based on my mood that day. The in-villa option was ideal for early mornings before activities, and everything arrived fresh, hot, and on time. Lunch by the poolside café was relaxed and luxurious, while dinner at the restaurant showcased authentic Indonesian cuisine elevated to fine-dining standards. The 4-course candlelit dinner was pure romance — private, atmospheric, and delicious. We also experienced a flower bath and a couples massage at the Forest Spa, complete with a jungle swing photo moment. The spa ritual was incredibly calming — listening to the hum of the forest during our massage was something I’ll never forget. The staff are what truly set Kamandalu apart. Hendri and his assistant were exceptional — they seemed to know who we were before we even stepped out of the car. They organised everything from our check-in and candlelit dinner to our spa treatments and ATV tour.

There's a lot of stairs. I wouldn't recommend for someone with mobility issues.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable - even called us both by name from the very first day! They even sourced an item I was after (and after multiple attempts couldn't find) from a store in Denpasar (i.e. not close to the hotel) and delivered it to the hotel the following day - which delighted me! The daily yoga class was excellent! A wonderful way to start the day! Breakfast was outstanding with many plant-based (vegan) options. Plus, there was bubbles for a mimosa or better still the ginger/cucumber juice mixed with it!! Loved the quiet of the Awana Pool (as long as the "instagrammers" didn't stay too long!)

The pool-bar music was on repeat every 45 minutes or so. Good music but couldn't stand listening after the 2nd or 3rd repeat. Could also hear the music from our room! Ahhh! We kindly requested a change of music to be told it was a pre-determined playlist, and it couldn't be changed. The staff also said they were sick of listening to it on repeat all day! Lost a point on my score because of this!

Staff were always lovely and helpful. Cute honeymoon set up of flowers in bath, towel swans on the bed with red rose and hand written note. They also provided a honeymoon cake that tasted amazing. It was my husbands birthday and without asking us they also provided a birthday cake with a candle. It was great!

Only issue was the rain shower head was too low for my husband to use and the other shower head sprayed water all over the floor in the bathroom under the shower door.

Heaven on earth. All staff very kind and humble people. They only aim to make your day and comfort.
