Nusa Dua Beach Hotel and Spa - Handwritten Collection

Room was very good, large, clean and fresh. Facilities overall were good. Lovely beach bar and nice restaurants with good food. Beautiful, expansive gardens. Close to the Bali Collection, but we were not told this by the hotel, but by our taxi driver- excellent shopping and eating area.

My friend and I booked the spa. This was 'ok' but disappointing. We had just come from Ubud, where the spas we visited were amazing. Much cheaper (3x cheaper) for a full hour, rather than 50 minutes, and offered a much friendlier, more personal touch. Didn't like that we had to pay in advance for our treatment at Nusa Dua- it felt like a business transaction rather than a pleasurable experience. The treatment felt rushed as it was only 50 minutes for full body, rather than an hour. I had to request relaxing music as it was silent- a little awkward when it is just you and the therapist. Once the music was turned on (the therapist had to leave me to go and do this), it was quite inaudible as it was controlled centrally from the reception desk. Once the treatment was over, we were not told to take a few minutes to relax. We were left to find our way back to the reception, and then we were just waved off without asking how our service had been. I had to request tea- ALL other massages we had had in other places (upmarket spas and cheaper town centre places), had offered post massage hot teas such as lemongrass, ginger and lemon etc. When I asked at Nusa Dua, there was nothing available, so we were given another cold juice, same as we received on arrival. We also found at the end, that there should have been a choice of several oils. We were not offered these and had whatever they gave us. The experience was lacking and for such a high-end hotel, we had expected more. Very average unfortunately and we were left disappointed. We had already booked a leg and foot massage for the next day, but we cancelled this after our full body massage.

Great location on a lovely beach with 2 big pools and a children’s pool. There is a swim up bar and other bars and an Aperol van as well as a range of restaurants. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay.

The location was good. The staff especially housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. There was a problem with my TV and it was very quickly attended to. The main restaurant was well positioned , good choice, and very kind staff.

The room was very dark and dated. There was no information about daily aqua fitness sessions. I only realised they were happening on the day I left. Being told ,on my first night, that there were no other restaurants within a 20min walk. Clearly the next day it is apparent there are lots of options with in minutes.
