Comfortable, good restaurant friendly and efficient staff

Very disappointing start to our holiday.
Size of room nice and large, good to have family room divided by curtain. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with very friendly staff.
Unfortunately although we arrived during requested time, the hotel reception was locked. Tried contact number but only received recorded message. Bar staff finally let us in an hour after we had arrived, our booking couldn't be found, eventually reception staff were called and arrived. Still booking couldn't be found and was only resolved following a further call to another member of staff. There was no apology or warm welcome. Once we got to our room there were a number of issues:- 1) Kettle was faulty - lid didn't close or turn off when boiled. 2) Electric socket next to right side of double bed was hanging off wall. 3) There were only a few light bulbs, the rest were not working or missing. 4) There were no spare toilet rolls in bathroom.

A surprisingly pleasant stay with great value, but a few quirks to be aware of.
I stayed at New Hotel de Lives during a very busy Easter weekend, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I was initially hesitant, worried it might have a motel vibe, but it was absolutely fine. The room in the new building was clean and cozy, and I really appreciated the bathtub - even though water leaked a bit through the glass. The location is great if you’re driving - free parking and easy access to the highway were major pluses. It’s also a short drive from Namur and Dinant, so perfect for exploring the area. Just keep in mind that you do need a car, as it’s in a remote area. There are no nearby restaurants or shops, so the on-site restaurant is a big benefit. It was popular with locals, and while the food was tasty, the menu was definitely on the pricey side (around €20+ for a burger). The breakfast didn’t offer a huge variety, but everything was fresh and delicious. It was a bit unusual to have to prepare your own bacon, eggs, and toast - especially since the appliances didn’t work on the first morning, though everything was fine after that. The staff was a standout. I was surprised and pleased that they spoke English so well. Special compliments to the young receptionist who was incredibly helpful-juggling both front desk duties and assisting with food service. The room itself was peaceful in terms of outside noise, but the sound insulation between rooms was lacking. I’ll just say that I became very aware of my neighbors’... enthusiastic activities throughout the night, banging walls... Housekeeping was excellent - my room was cleaned thoroughly and with care. The natural surroundings were beautiful, adding to the overall experience. For the price, it was an excellent value. I would definitely stay again.
-Bathroom glass panel leaked water while using bathtub, floor was soaking wet -Poor sound isolation between rooms -No clear instructions for cooking raw eggs or using the electric pan at breakfast -Limited staff availability outside of restaurant hours. There is no 24-hour reception, so if you need assistance late in the evening or early morning, it can be difficult to reach anyone. This could be inconvenient for late check-ins or if any issues arise during your stay -Very remote location – a car is a must -TV on the side wall at the weird angle, impossible to watch - Open closet without doors (smell from the restaurant getting into clothes)

Quiet and comfortable.
The room is quiet and bed very comfortable with good bathroom. They offer bottles of water and a couple of coffee.
The wifi signal on room 28, which is the last of the new building, is not strong enough to maintain a connection. The TV has also no channel option.

I like the province of Namur very much, but I never go back to this hotel.
parking was easy, and leaving after 3 days was easy too. The shower was great.
First: The reviews of this hotel I had not read before, please do so on google, booking AND tripadvisor. Second: This hotel has a poor to none complaint handling. So if you read all this and go anyway because of the attractive pricing, and its not what you wanted, you could have known just like we could... hygiene is poor and below standards, like the higher ridges had a finger of dust on them, a lot of brown in the shower in the corners. The towels have a sharp smell of chemical cleaning, and in the restaurant the top of the laminate flooring is worn in corners which is great for bacteriae breeding. This kind of place makes me worry about Escherichia coli on every doorhandle and what not. The bed was too small and old, and we really had back aches in the morning. All things combined I was kind of worried the bed was really clean inside and if i could get scabies of it. the cap from the electric came off at night, which is right behind the pillow where my girlfriend slept. 240 V was open for electrocution. We are still looking into that for an official complaint. Saturday we were kept waiting on the stairs by some nearly 18 y/o who was hauling a folding bed to the ground floor after partying all night, and then I saw the connection with residing restaurant personnel and the "studios" on the third floor. No service from the restaurant like no coffee during the day, and no drinks allowed to take up. The television only has french channels which is a loud example of the orientation of this hotel which is not international. Just a few people speak a poor english. And while in hospitality business, not realizing who pay for their checks all the time, and thats the customers. I can not understand why people that dislike tourists, work in a place where they have to service them. That is the vibe of this place, send us your money and shut up.

Great location, good quality rooms and friendly service
Hotel was well situated for our road trip. We were really pleased with the quality of the rooms that look they had been recently updated. Friendly service!
We weren't aware that we needed to book a table for dinner in advance as its quite a popular restaurant. Nonetheless there was a lovely italian place a few minutes away.
