Perfect choice for us

Everything - great central location, clean, spacious and well-equipped room with good soundproofing. We ate a light breakfast of coffee and croissant in the lobby bar so didn’t experience the full breakfast offered. Check-in staff gave great information about the area and transport systems.

Good location

The gym and Sauna were out of order and that was one of the main reasons we picked this spot. The manager tried to be helpful but we would’ve loved some money back or for them to pay for a gym nearby that had the facilities. We ended up just paying for one nearby.

One of the two small elevators was out of service for the three days of our stay. Being on the 10th floor, going in and out of the room was a nightmare. Very rude employee on the front desk, sneered at me instead of offering a polite answer

It was a great location and lovely staff

The staff were so efficient and helpful especially with the car park situation as they waited while I got stuck having to go back around your one way system after missing the garage entrance! The lady who looked after us with the garage also took us up to our room when we came back to get our room key in the afternoon, we had in checked in, in the morning but when we came back after 3pm there was a large group booking so she suggested that she would open our room to save us waiting for ages. She was amazing and so thoughtful and helpful. What a lovely asset to your team 😊

I felt the room was a bit smaller than I had anticipated but it was nice. I found it frustrating to have to move the fridge & unplug it to make a coffee in the morning, that seriously isn’t good considering the quality of your hotel! It was awkward and someone older would have trouble trying to reach the plug and unplugging one plug then trying to squeeze down behind the fridge to plug the coffee machine in.

Location was good. Good breakfast.

Deceptive listing for what is considered to be a "premium room" with a queen bed--it is just two double beds pushed together under one blanket. Room was clean but some of the towels had stains.

Good location , easy to reach almost all attractions on foot , many cafes, restaurants, tapas bars in the neighborhood, the room is clean and the bed is comfortable, also everyday a bottle of water is a plus.

Setting breakfast issues aside great hotel, great location and we will definitely be back.

I was disappointed with the breakfast but my husband was very happy with breakfast. In comparison to other hotels where I have stayed the breakfast choice was limited. When items on the buffet were finished no one restocked them which made the choices even smaller. I would add that we arrived for breakfast long before the stated finish time so this could not be used as an excuse for not replenishing the items. Location was excellent for all modes of transport train, bus, metro, taxi rank and even the hop on hop off bus stop which was a very short walk away. The hotel is right in the centre of the old town and it’s easy to walk to many of the major sights. There are many fabulous restaurants in this area so nothing nicer than a nice meal and getting lost dandering around the little streets and squares in the evening. In conclusion our stay at the Melia Plaza was wonderful and we will definitely be back.

The only thing that we would like improved was the breakfast so much so that the next time we stay we will book on a room only basis and have breakfast elsewhere.

Decent stay in a central location

Location was central, close to all major landmarks. A lot of restaurants and bars around.

Building is a bit old but our room was renovated. Amenities are average (gym, elevator etc.). Not the best sound isolation in the room.

Excellent location. Breakfast too expensive, We ate across the street at a local venue. Room was small, but we had lounge chairs outside on our terrace. Great and accommodating staff.

Superb location facing Pl. de l'Ajuntament with walking access to all transport modes. Very helpful introduction by Mr Pablo who graciously gave some very good recommendations on local restaurants.

A few teething problems with an incorrectly stocked mini bar and the room safe did not worked requiring a next day repair, otherwise all ok.
