A very convenient stay for a work trip

-Location was excellent, close to the city center, and embassies- governmental buildings. -Breakfast was very nice, offering a buffet and additionally some warm dishes which can be ordered extra as part of the breakfast price. -Bathroom is renovated, the rest of the room is more old fashioned though in a very good condition. The room offers complimentary coffee capsules and tea bags. A nice touch was adding a complimentary drink from the bar- if you do not want/need room service to come to your room for a day. -Staff very polite. We we arrived right after midnight to the hotel- and there was no difficulty what so ever, as staff member waited to open the door and check us in.

Expensive for what it was. Small room for the price and for 2 people. Misleading minibar. Things presented on table also charged. Stupidly over the top notice re foregoing cleaning. Just do the “no change of towels” thing.

Lovely quiet traditional hotel , well trained staff polite and friendly, not fussy not showy.

Excellent location quiet and elegant surroundings. Rooms are comfortable reasonably spacious and clean. Breakfast has a wide choice, well presented mostly self service but with added choice from the kitchen if you wish, staff are attentive and helpful. The outside terrace is lovely but the weather was too wet to enjoy it much.

The bar area is a little tired very traditional in style. It is not much used by guests but the dining area is a more attractive option.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, making the stay pleasant. Breakfast was varied and fresh. The location was excellent—close to the city center and within easy reach of public transport, which made getting around very convenient.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city, what's there not to like?

The hotel was very lovely, well situated, close to tram and bus stops as well as in a walking distance from the beautiful old part of Hague. Interior of the hotel is old-school in the best way possible with wood panelling, beautiful doors. The staff was also very kind.

We will come back again!

We got an update of the Residence for free. It was such a nice surprise! The room was very big, cozy and calm. We loved it. Thank you! Besides,the hotel is in very central location,but hidden from the city center rush. Therefore, it was another benefit we enjoyed! The hotel also rents the bikes!

Good stay good location

Its location the room has a work desk plus seating areas. Bed ample sized above all very nice toiletries including moisturiser which many hotels ignore. Good breakfast with a few made to order items which gets neglected in huge breakfast buffets in other hotels

You might as microwave in the room The daily room cleaning was a bit complicated and a staff member kept coming in to direct the cleaner

4 star hotel with 5 star attention.

Staff were welcoming and couldn’t do enough to facilitate our stay.Breakfast was beautiful everything you could ask for , unlimited amount, pancakes and omelette made to order. Choice to have daily room cleaning and complimentary drink if choose not.

Great experience. Super clean and big room. Location is ok, however due to work done outside on other buildings, there was some noise. Breakfest limited but overall covers the basic needs. Good parking option.

For the price paid, i suggest breakfest to be adjusted accordingly.

Hotel is nice but double standard rooms are extremely basic for the price.

We liked the area the hotel was in, close to bars and restaurants.

Single Glaze windows, extremely high bathtub that was difficult to climb in and out of, low ceilings that made it feel like the room was in an attic ( floor 3 bedrooms). Road works outside on Easter Monday morning at 7.30am had the whole hotel awake and with the single glaze windows it was impossible to keep out the noise. The walls are quite thin and you can hear the neighbors clearly. The double bed is very small, more so like a small double. The minibar in the room is expensive.

Be aware that this exists

Great building and beautiful neighbourhood with amazing architecture. Good to start exploring the city. Parking at Mauritskade was convenient.

We are staying in the Hague a lot and always in different places. This time I booked the Carlton for the "True Royal Dutch Experience". Well, the room felt like a cellar as we were looking at a huge wall and a floor. We could only guess the sky and the weather but could hear the sounds of something like a generator. It ruined the whole experience, really. I was so disappointed and felt not very welcome at the Calton as staff was not bothering much about guests. I did not expect rooms like that in a hotel like the Calton and think these rooms just shouldn't be offered to guests.

Good location near the centre, kind staff, room cleanliness, comfortable bed, good breakfast, bicycle rental available directly at the hotel.

Poor isolation of the windows, you could hear all the noise from outside, small room for the price we payed, no soap in the bathroom
