A pleasant stay at enchanting hotel in a wintry wonder of Edinburgh.

Spacious loft studio with plenty of amenities. Quality bathrooms, comfortable bed and well supplied cooking utensils. I could also listened to my own music. Magnificent building architecture took you back in time. Foods from room service and breakfast at the Register Club were delicious.

Stairs were a bit steep. At night, the heating around bedroom area was on too high despite lowering down to 19 degree. The kitchen could have stocked a French press for coffee drinkers.

Great location and staff.

We had no hot water so moved room and it was only a little bit better. At £345/night you expect hot water! Also in the new room the towel rail was boiling hot and could t be turned off which made the room i comfortably hot! The staff were amazing.

A mixed experience from exceptional to just not good enough.

Spotless, wonderful location, decor and the staff were amazing

Initial room was tiny (duplex) despite paying for studio. Was sorted but took ages. In new room which was lovely, there was no heating for first hour. It was cold. Once heating came on, heater could not be adjusted at all. Beautifully comfy bed ruined by wall of heat next to it.

Slow service in the bar VERY noisy from the functions in the hotel Bad studio layout, could walk around the bed with the Bedroom doors open. Poor drainage in the sink.

A dream stay in a gorgeously luxurious hotel - what a treat!

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. I wish we could stay longer. Pure luxury with so many little touches that make it just bliss to be here. Fabulous central location. We stayed in a suite on the top floor with our 10 year old and it is so perfectly appointed it’s like a luxury high end apartment. Food was amazing. We also ate at the Hawksmoor in the hotel and were given complimentary drink when we arrived as guest of the hotel. I’d highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.

The heating did not seem to work properly. If we set a temperature it seemed to default to a lower one after a time. We weren’t there long enough to get to grips with it!

Utterly phenomenal, the staff are nothing but helpful especially Mathew and his mum Jo, they made it extra special for me and my family. It’s our 4th time at the grand and even though they’ve changed brands the quality hasn’t slipped

Overall great location but too expensive for its offer.

The location is excellente, few steps from the city center and historical buildings. The room is quite big and majority of the personal quite friendly.

The temperature of the room is almost impossible to keep it stable (we were freezing the first night). The breakfast is "okeish", but expensive for the offers and there was mold in the floor of the bathroom. Overall, for the price we paid, we were expecting more confort. Additionally, if you are not member of the chain, is impossible to get any late check out (they even dont check), despite of the fact that the hotel was empty. They were nice though, to allow us to make a work meeting from a space on the ground floor.

The door knob on one of the bathrooms fell off. It wasn’t an inconvenience. I alerted staff an they documented it. When we inquired again they said maintenance would handle on Monday. We checked out on a Sunday. Since it was reported on Friday AM felt they should have maintenance staff on site. Again wasn’t an inconvenience just felt they could have responded in better form.

Excellent location, convenient to transit and the main sections of town. The staff was incredible and extraordinarily helpful. The facility was immaculate. The daily breakfast was perfect for our family. The bar staff was wonderfully helpful with their guidance for evening cocktails.

No breakfast included when you’re paying over £700 a night!!! TV in lounge needs a bracket so you can adjust it. Shower needs a shelf on the wall for shower gel etc. Cleaning wasn’t always 10/10. Cheap kitchen roll in room!

Lovely stay, beautiful hotel- just needs to sort out its television options

Very luxurious, comfortable, central location

Television facilities. I was looking forward to a Netflix and movie night with my friend- but was hugely disappointed to see they only have the basic channels and film 4. Expected a bit more in this department , given that it’s a luxury hotel- and Netflix/Amazon Prime etc are very easily available in hotels in other countries (ie Spain)
