Lovely

Lovely little cottage in a great spot, really short drive to bowness or Ambleside. Looking over the lake at the front door. To me it’s in the perfect spot it’s lovely and relaxing where it is. It isn’t too much into a town but close enough it could be walked if you wanted to. It was exactly what we needed.

The tele is a bit small but it isn’t really an issue. The only downside I would say would be Sykes Cottages. We loved it that much we got in touch on our last night to talk about extending our stay another night and they got back to us the day after we got home 😂

Lovely cottage, would definitely stay again. Issues we had were minor and didn't detract from it.

Liked the cosiness of the cottage and a nice location quiet but easy walking distance to Windermere and Bowness. Daughter loved going down to the jetty.

Enjoyed it very much.

Very quiet location. Easy parking spots. Had a lawn were my children played football. Had a baby deer visiting us at dusk just outside the bedroom windows. View of the lake.

Main bed is a little small for two big adults and pillows could have been more comfy. TV could have been a little bigger. But all was fine for the bargain price.

Nice relaxing location only 5 mins drive into Windermere

Little small, beds were small and very uncomfortable. TV was tiny my computer monitor is bigger. Only provided 2 loo rolls for 3 people for 5 nights. No change of towels over the 5 nights and no washing machine to clean any.

Enjoyable 5 night stay.

We enjoyed the view, the quietness and the coziness. Small but fine for 2 people. We would have liked a bit bigger TV. Also the walk up and down to the car park was trying for me ( a lady 76). But saying all that a really lovely location . Well equipped.

Beautiful place... loved our stay

Amazing location, I was a little worried about finding it after the reviews but read the instructions in finding the property. We had a little blip with the WiFi but we turned it on and off again and it worked (instructions did say not to do that but we were working from there so needed it urgently). It was perfect for 3 adults with 2 sharing the double, I think unless you like bunk beds... would be a squeeze for 4 adults

I think maybe instructions or further details of places we could go eat within walking distance would be a nice touch? Besides that it was perfect for us.

We both loved our stay here. It was clean, comfortable and in a perfect spot. We hope to book again at some point.

The hill is very steep which is fine for driving but if you walk up it can be a challenge. We are in our 70's.

Peaceful retreat with lake view

Extremely peaceful and serene location, lovely bit of a lake view, comfy sofas and beds, cleanliness. You could sit at home all day and rest and read a book.

Wifi issues. We were able to connect to the router but there were times of the day when internet was gone. I appreciate the host trying his best to find a solution with neighbors' wifi, but that didn't work either. We were able to use our own data connection though.

Super stay in comfortable accommodation in a spectacular setting.

The property is cozy and comfortable - and the location is amazing! To sit and eat breakfast looking out over the lake was special. The private path down to the shore was perfect for morning / evening strolls. And with Booths and pubs within easy walking distance, there's a lot to like.

When we arrived, everything had been turned off at the socket including the fridge, meaning the freezer compartment had defrosted all into the fridge and onto the kitchen floor. I'm all about reducing energy consumption, but perhaps that's one thing to leave on.

Quiet and peaceful

A little bit difficult to get to as it's further down the terrace, and can't be seen from the main road. We had to do u-turn twicebecause we were not sure if we got to the correct place.

Good location, great that it has parking. Quiet and provides for your basic needs.

Property had a lot of mould which isn’t inviting, and felt in dire need of a touch up. It was ‘clean enough’ but when we arrived there was food left from previous guests on the shelf and crumbs on the work surface. The shower also didn’t look the cleanest, and the toilet seat was loose. Just the small touches could make a big difference.

The location was good and the bedding and towels were good

The room was smelling when we entered as if somebody just cooked fish and the room had retained the smell which was unpleasant for the start of the trip, moreover there were very limited supply of toilet papers, basic kitchen essentials, garbage bags atleast not expected out of a £116 per night property and considering it was booked for 5 nights. It was totally dissapointing

We enjoyed the easy collection of keys

The overall Cleanliness was not up to scratch. There is a Christmas bauble in main bedroom wardrobe, the carpeted floors and skirting boards need a good Hoover and a dust. The Kitchen and bathrooms were very clean though. Ice box needs cleaned and defrosted. I went to plug in my phone charger in the sitting room and the skirting boards and area around the back of the nest of tables was unclean. This was the same in all of the rooms.

Lovely cottage with great views

Great cottage with all the facilities you could need including two digital radios and cushion for outside bench. Lovely views over lawned area to lake Windermere and hills beyond. Two allocated parking spaces which in an area where you have to pay to park at most places is a great thing to have. Property has own path down to lake shore and you can walk to centre of Windermere town in 15 mins, Bowness is around 30 mins walk. Very peaceful location but easy access by car to lots of Lake District lovely villages and attractions

Nothing really to dislike but if you had to use second bedroom with bunk beds this bedroom is a bit small. We traveled as a couple so this was not an issue.

Excellent stay, hugely recommend!

The cottage was lovely and clean, all bedding was super comfy. In the kitchenette there were a fridge, microwave and an electric cooker with oven - very handy for a quick pizza! Just 15-20 min walking to the town centre. Many thanks for our magnificent May holiday!

Very good would stay again.

Beds comfy, clean and tidy, great private jetty and mini beach.

Hot water in kitchen was not hot enough, had to use kettle to wash up safely. Shower was very weak but manageable.

Sehr gute und ruhige Lage. An sich eine tolle Wohnung, die aber ein wenig Renovierung benötigt.

Die Lage ist wirklich traumhaft, sehr ruhig und mit Blick auf den See. Die Unterkunft hat alles was man benötigt. Eigener Parkplatz ist auch von Vorteil.

Leider riecht es sehr muffig. Der Geruch ging auch durch Lüften nicht weg und hing in den Möbeln. Wir konnten die Kleidung dort nicht lagern. Das war wirklich schade, da die Wohnung richtig schön ist. Die Matratze vom Doppelbett ist leider komplett durch. Das Geschirr war verdreckt im Schrank, da wäre ein kleiner Check-up durch den Gastgeber notwendig.
