The food was good
We stayed in the cottage, the bedroom was warm but the sitting room was cold even when we put the fire on, there’s a really bad draft from the front door.

Characterful property. Very clean.
Quite claustrophobic with very very low ceilings. No water in room however there was tap water in a fridge on the landing.

The location was superb for our plans. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They only had 1x vegetarian dish on the menu but made a different dish on night 2 of our stay to save us driving out somewhere. The bathroom is lovely - with a lovely large roll top bath for 2.
The downstairs to the cottage only has 1 heater and 2 oil filled radiators. The kitchen heater situated underneath the cooker did put some heat out but without all this heating on the cottage felt cold downstairs. We didn’t know we needed to buy kindling etc for the coal fire so we were not prepared. There was only 1 bathroom robe too.

We’ve just returned from a two-night stay and were absolutely delighted with this gem of a place. We wanted somewhere well located for exploring the Cotswolds, and The Crown Inn was perfect – just a short drive from Chipping Norton and ideal for the areas we wanted to visit.
We arrived on Friday evening to a busy pub with the open fire lit, creating a wonderful atmosphere straight away. The welcome was friendly and warm, and we enjoyed a drink in the bar before heading up to our room. After a long day of travelling and exploring, we decided to dine in the restaurant and were so glad we did. We both ordered the burgers and wow – easily the best burgers we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended. We couldn’t resist dessert and had to try the chocolate mousse after seeing such great reviews on Booking.com, alongside the white chocolate and rhubarb. Both desserts were incredible, and we loved the extra touch of the chef coming out to serve the mousse from a large china pot – a really lovely detail.
Breakfast the following morning was just as impressive and a great bonus that it’s included with the stay. Locally sourced produce, excellent coffee and lovely juice set us up perfectly for the day.
Our room was spot on – comfortable, well presented and with a spacious bathroom. There was a great selection of tea and coffee in the room, and we really appreciated the fresh milk and cold water available in the hallway fridge – such a thoughtful touch.
On the day of departure, we unfortunately had car trouble and were due to check out at 11am. A relative wasn’t able to reach us until around 1:30pm, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We were kindly allowed to stay in the room for as long as needed, which took a lot of stress out of an already difficult situation. The understanding and flexibility shown really went above and beyond.
Nothing. It was perfect.

Very clean and comfortable with a nice restaurant in the pub next door. Dog friendly.
Downstairs was cold but there were lots of heaters. The bedroom and bathroom were warm and cosy.

The food was amazing!
We ate in the restaurant in the evening, it was fabulous! We had Pheasant and Venison both excellent and the chocolate mousse dessert was delicious - lovely touch the chef came out with large vintage French bowl of the homemade mousse and dolloped it onto our plate!
Great service - lovely staff who told us about the area.
Breakfast also fantastic!
Comfy beds and lovely large bathroom and freestanding bath.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast and dinner were great. The staff were lovely. The restaurant and bar area were beautiful. Great location!
The shower water pressure in our room was appalling. I couldn’t wash my hair properly and had to wash it in the sink.

Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Great food.
Parking is limited.
The studio room was quaint with underfloor heating, which was great to walk around but made the room hot at night, no bath robes or bottle of wine/champagne as advertised for the price we paid (upgraded as it was my birthday treat?) . Mini fridge for milk was a nice touch, would have liked some biscuits for the price. Good base for visiting the local villages

Everything about The Crown Inn was exceptional. The welcome was warm and genuine from the moment we arrived, and every member of staff we met was friendly, attentive and clearly proud of what they do. The room was gorgeous – beautifully styled, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, with the kind of quiet charm that makes you instantly relax. The food was outstanding: perfectly cooked dishes full of flavour, great portion sizes, and a menu that clearly balances creativity with quality ingredients. The wine list was superb too, with thoughtful options by the glass and excellent recommendations from the team. It felt like staying and dining somewhere that genuinely cares about the experience.
Honestly nothing meaningful – everything was fantastic. If anything, we wish we could have stayed for longer.

Friendly helpful staff.
Comfortable, cosy room with loads of charm and character. Also very clean.
Great breakfast
Evening meal menu was a bit fancy and quite expensive. Would have preferred from some more traditional pub food

Beautiful old building, wonderfully decorated, extremely welcoming staff .
Our room though small was well equipped & warm , very comfortable bed , tea & coffee facilities with an excellent variety of teas & coffees.
The bathroom was lovely & had great shower & the provision of shampoo /conditioner & shower gel is a lovely touch ( there is also a hairdryer & bath robe ) & plenty of towels .
Lots of steep steps , our room was at the top through heavy fire doors,( obviously necessary) but if you're older or a bit infirm maybe ask to be lower down ! .
We ate in the restaurant one evening & found it quite expensive & the menu had limited choices though the food was good .

Location was a little further than I expected but it was lovely and peaceful the room was lovely and I got free upgrade room, lovely and comfortable spacious room with views each side of room and was lovely to work in. lovely helpful polite staff no complaints great front of house
great food and ambiance
room was lovely and warm
For me add a topper to the mattress that would make me give it a 10/10 but this could be just my personal preference as I prefer a softer mattress

Ambience, very attentive staff, excellent food, fresh produce, comfortable bed,
The welcome and professionalism of the team, from bar staff and kitchen staff. A nice reminder or hospitality at its finest.
Some enhanced housekeeping required in shower room,...unfortunately we couldn't have a cup of tea as no milk in fridge....but that wouldn't put us off returning.

It was so quiet of an evening and I slept like a baby, all the staff were lovely and the food was amazing
A fridge and iron in the room would’ve made it 10/10 but it wasn’t that much of an inconvenience, everything else made it irrelevant

The crown in was well situated and the environment was warm,,cozy and welcoming on arrival with adequate car parking.
Great selection of bar drinks, beer bar environment and welcoming by locals. Board games, cards and maps for local walks .
Breakfast and restaurant for evening meal was again a lovely comfortable environment. The staff very helpful, friendly , attentive and accommodating. Excellent chef in the kitchen who created great food with his own unique twist on local produce. Both breakfast and evening meal were delicious with clear attention to detail - chef is a keeper : ).
Room was cozy, comfortable with everything in the space we needed to make for a restful and comfortable stay.
Minors - seriously; could have benefited on additional information/leaflets on place of interest to visit .
Place was very clean and nicely kept aside wood work on doors and banister could do with a wash over - but really that is a minor - we loved the place, staff and our stay.

Cute pub accommodation. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Perfect for what we needed.
Parking was easy and accessible.
Staff were also very helpful in arranging affordable transport to take us to an event close by.
Our room was quite small, but perfect for us as we were only sleeping there.
Not much to not like but two very minor things. There was no cold water in the fridge when we arrived back to the accommodation and the full English breakfast did not have baked beans.

The room was beautiful, bathroom was stunning and the lady who showed us around was very lovely and kind.
We didn’t end up staying unfortunately, we didn’t realise it was above a pub, our room was above the bar, with benches outside the front window, the locals were smoking and drinking and having a lovely time, but this made it difficult for us to wind down. We closed the windows but it was incredibly hot. We could feel the doors slamming through the room.
Getting in and out of the car park was a lot like Austin Powers trying to do his 3point turn in the cart…
Also, My husband is also 6ft4 and the entrance to the bathroom was about 5ft2(I am 5ft1), he is pretty conditioned to bending to get through doorways/beams but this was excessively so. He is stooping in the picture! 🫣

A comfortable lovely one night stay for a nearby festival. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Even helped us find a local driver when taxis were proving difficult. Wonderful hospitality in a well located spot. Stayed for lunch, which we highly rated! Will be back…
