Food was good, accommodation was disappointing for the price paid
    The food was good
We stayed in the cottage, the bedroom was warm but the sitting room was cold even when we put the fire on, there’s a really bad draft from the front door.

Not what I expected for the price
    Characterful property. Very clean.
Quite claustrophobic with very very low ceilings. No water in room however there was tap water in a fridge on the landing.

We had a lovely comfortable stay but had we have spent longer at the cottage we would have needed to light the coal fire
The location was superb for our plans. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They only had 1x vegetarian dish on the menu but made a different dish on night 2 of our stay to save us driving out somewhere. The bathroom is lovely - with a lovely large roll top bath for 2.
The downstairs to the cottage only has 1 heater and 2 oil filled radiators. The kitchen heater situated underneath the cooker did put some heat out but without all this heating on the cottage felt cold downstairs. We didn’t know we needed to buy kindling etc for the coal fire so we were not prepared. There was only 1 bathroom robe too.

A wonderful, welcoming Cotswolds stay with fantastic food, comfortable rooms and genuinely accommodating staff – we can’
We’ve just returned from a two-night stay and were absolutely delighted with this gem of a place. We wanted somewhere well located for exploring the Cotswolds, and The Crown Inn was perfect – just a short drive from Chipping Norton and ideal for the areas we wanted to visit. We arrived on Friday evening to a busy pub with the open fire lit, creating a wonderful atmosphere straight away. The welcome was friendly and warm, and we enjoyed a drink in the bar before heading up to our room. After a long day of travelling and exploring, we decided to dine in the restaurant and were so glad we did. We both ordered the burgers and wow – easily the best burgers we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended. We couldn’t resist dessert and had to try the chocolate mousse after seeing such great reviews on Booking.com, alongside the white chocolate and rhubarb. Both desserts were incredible, and we loved the extra touch of the chef coming out to serve the mousse from a large china pot – a really lovely detail. Breakfast the following morning was just as impressive and a great bonus that it’s included with the stay. Locally sourced produce, excellent coffee and lovely juice set us up perfectly for the day. Our room was spot on – comfortable, well presented and with a spacious bathroom. There was a great selection of tea and coffee in the room, and we really appreciated the fresh milk and cold water available in the hallway fridge – such a thoughtful touch. On the day of departure, we unfortunately had car trouble and were due to check out at 11am. A relative wasn’t able to reach us until around 1:30pm, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We were kindly allowed to stay in the room for as long as needed, which took a lot of stress out of an already difficult situation. The understanding and flexibility shown really went above and beyond.
    Nothing. It was perfect.

    A gorgeous little private cottage
Very clean and comfortable with a nice restaurant in the pub next door. Dog friendly.
Downstairs was cold but there were lots of heaters. The bedroom and bathroom were warm and cosy.

Gorgeous quaint pub & fantastic restaurant
The food was amazing! We ate in the restaurant in the evening, it was fabulous! We had Pheasant and Venison both excellent and the chocolate mousse dessert was delicious - lovely touch the chef came out with large vintage French bowl of the homemade mousse and dolloped it onto our plate! Great service - lovely staff who told us about the area. Breakfast also fantastic! Comfy beds and lovely large bathroom and freestanding bath.
