Our hosts were fantastic very friendly, helpful and responsive. I am very fussy with cleaning and I felt that our rooms were thoroughly cleaned. I loved the mini bar. We thought that was very thoughtful and it was a really nice touch. We also really liked the Christmas decorations, they made the room feel homely. The beds were comfortable. Our stay was very pleasant and we would totally recommend.
There were noisy people outside in the street. The restaurants close around 11 and that is when the noise quiets down. My wife didn’t like the smelly perfume in the bathroom. She gets allergies and it made her sneeze and cough a lot. There was also one in the hallway as you enter. The fragrance was too strong.

Daniela & Stefano were very kind and friendly in accommodating our needs. Unfortunately, we did not arrange the parking for our car ahead of our stay, which cost us quite a bit of frustration and valuable time.
The entrance to this facility is located at the center of a plaza, which is only accessible by taxi (which takes us straight to the door, as we later found out). If you plan to arrive with a car, please notify Daniela & Stefano in advance (by WhatsApp) so they can arrange parking near the facility.
The parking does not belong to the facility. We ended up parking our rental car at a public parking lot 7 minutes’ walk, near a street that is straight across in front of the entrance to this place.

Excellent location, 5 minute walk from train station and right in the heart of the city centre, supermarket nearby, plenty of restaurants to choose from and shops.
Daniela and her husband were excellent hosts, always ready to reply, help with restaurant recommendations and bookings, and responds immediately. We were given many local tips, recommendations of where to go and how and this was excellent.
We felt there wasn’t enough space in the bathroom to unpack our toiletry bags, some shelves would be nice.
The toilet paper holder was rusty in parts, and the floor, especially in the bathroom, was not 100% clean. In the room, there was ample clothes hanging space but no drawers at all.
Mattress was sagging in the middle.
Breakfast which was included in price was also very basic, only 1 piece of pastry, hot beverage and juice (which we do not consume).
So in general for the price we paid, we would have expected a higher quality accommodation.

This is a beautiful place to rent a room, one block away to the train station, but enough to be in a nice spot in the city. Old building but fully renovated interior for Alchimia di Mare. As neat as it gets, everything was perfect, starting with the attentive instructions and recommendations from the owners up to the breakfast in a close-by bar. Definitely recommend it for a perfect stay in La Spezia

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. Daniela and her family offered us outstanding hospitality always attentive, kind, and ready to help with anything we needed. They gave us excellent recommendations and made sure every detail of our stay was perfect.
The location is unbeatable, just a short walk from the train station, which makes exploring Cinque Terre incredibly easy. Everything was wonderful and truly exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended!

The hospitality received from Daniella and her husband was outstanding. The property was secure and convenient to train and main area of Le Spezia. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Daniella went above and beyond making sure we had all the knowledge to explore the area including restaurant recommendations. It was a pleasure to have stayed in this beautiful accommodation.
Nothing! It was perfect.

Amazing location, just a few minutes' walk to the train station, and right at the top of the main street. The rooms are fresh, clean and very comfortable. The host, Daniela, could not have been more helpful - we were struggling to find car parking (the train station was full by midday) and she arranged a private, secure spot for us at the last minute. Her husband even came with us in the car to ensure we found the lot, which was very much appreciated. All in all, great value for money and fantastic hosts.

The location was very convenient and so easy to get to from the train station. We were there to visit the Villages of Cinque Terre, so the location was perfect for us. We arrived early and just wanted to drop off our bags. This hotel is inside a larger building and there wasn't a place to drop off the bags that we could see. However, the manager was most kind and asked us to wait while she had the room cleaned and prepared.
The breakfast was at a cafe across the street. We received vouchers, but better directions, including the name of the cafe would have been helpful. We went to 2 other cafes that were closer before someone directed us to the right cafe. Unlike most of the hotels that included breakfast we only were offered a coffee, juice and a pastry. We missed having more choices.

A great bed-and breakfast style accommodation within a 5 minute walk from the La Spezia Centrale station. The rooms are located within a palazzo up a flight of stairs, although there is also a small elevator. We rented two rooms for two nights. The rooms were spotless, modern and quiet, and included many amenities including free water, coffee and toiletries of all kinds. The included breakfast is an Italian breakfast consisting of a pastry and beverage, which you get at one of two cafes located just outside. The hosts were amazing — very warm, welcoming and helpful and even arranged for a taxi when we needed one. They were present on-site, and provided a ton of information and recommendations about the area. They also were very responsive through WhatsApp. The five minute walk to the La Spezia Centrale station was very convenient for our excursion to Cinque Terre, which is just a very short train ride away (15-30 minutes depending upon the town). We were glad to have stayed in La Spezia as we witnessed people struggling with luggage on the uneven, steep streets of Cinque Terre. The apartment is also a 15 minute walk to the ferry if you are going to Portovenere. Highly recommended!

It was clean, comfortable, thick walls and doors, so we hardly heard any noise, within walking distance of the train station (5 minutes), we also got given a free breakfast and drink at the coffee shop opposite which we didn't expect too, which was great also!. Daniela was superb and very informative and the gentleman she was with was great also (sorry, I didn't catch his name). Honestly, the best we have ever been greeted at any stay and if we are ever back in La Spezia, we will look to stay here again.
There was nothing we didn't like, superb all round.

Great location, perfect for visiting cinque terre, classical italian breakfast either coffee + pastry + orange juice
Too many room perfumes, 4 for just a room is crazy

We were surprised when we saw the facility because we never experienced such a set up where there were many hotel suites owned by different people inside one building. Having said that, we were also excited to try something new. The building was old and had some construction going on. The common areas of the building were not maintained, but the rooms inside the Alchimia suites were. It was a small place and not enough room in the bathroom to comfortably put our toiletries. We also had a problem with water spilling out of the glass shower door. We liked that we had water in the refrigerator and a little bottle of prosecco and 2 cans of lemon soda. We liked that a coffee maker and kettle were provided along with a tea and coffee pods selection. The Italian breakfast of cornetto, cappuccino and a glass of fresh orange juice at C'est Bonn was also good. The location was the best. It was near the city center, train station and Cinque Terre. Perfect location for a base when visiting the Ligurian Region. It is also worth mentioning that the owner Daniela was very welcoming and accommodating. The check-in and check-out process was a non event and seamless and Daniela gave us the best personalized concierge service I ever experienced. Overall, it was comfortable but not luxurious by any means. I highly recommend the place if using it as a base when visiting La Spezia and Cinque Terre.

The accommodation was great and the location is a walking distance from shops and stores and 10 minutes from the Marina. What stands out is the host Daniella. She was absolutely outstanding as a human being. My friend had a kidney stone so I reached out to her to ask about a nearby hospital. Not only did Daniella provide the name of a nearby hospital but she came herself to check on my friend and made herself available to go with us to the hospital, knowing we are not from Italy. Far exceeded the expectation from any host. Daniella and her husband also help you to bring the luggage to your room (with a smile on their face) in the very tiny elevator (multiple trips for us). We would use their accommodations in a heartbeat.

Our welcome was so informative & attention to detail to maker sure we had everything we needed was very appreciated. Would recommend to anyone staying in La Spezia to visit Cinque Terre or La Spezia itself! The toiletries provided was a very nice inclusion.
We had a very comfortable sleep & fun time in La Spezia - I didn't have any issues at all!

Spotless. Quiet. Comfortable. Water and snacks waiting on arrival! The hosts met us outside the building and provided an incredible amount of information on every subject you might need! They were available 24/7 during our stay. AND a 10 minute walk from
the train station! AND around the corner to the main area for tourists!!!
It’s just a perfect stay.

What a wonderful little secret in La Spezia! Daniela was so sweet and helpful. She and her husband greeted us and made us feel at home immediately. This boutique hotel was very quiet and centrally located to lots of shopping and restaurants. It's proximity to the train station made it easy to get to and from the hotel. There was a continental breakfast available at a local pastry shop and it made for the perfect start to each day! The room was clean and housekeeping came each day. The Wi-Fi was strong and easy to use. And there were special little treats in the room and refrigerator. Ask for the Portovenere room. The bathroom and shower is large. We would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you, Daniela, for your wonderful hospitality!
