Disappointing stay with no heating or wifi.

It got cold in the mornings and evenings when we were there. We contacted the owner but it seemed that we had to ask the people staying in the adjacent property to turn on our heating and we never saw them to ask. There was also no WiFi and the outdoor furniture was rather neglected. I was under the impression that there would be a bathroom and a shared toilet but there was only a bathroom. There were 4 bedrooms but only one of them had a double bed, the other 3 all had 2 single beds in them.

I really liked the location and I liked the garden.

The house only has one bathroom and toilet, which is in the bathroom. If you are there with more than 4 people it is not very practicle. The internet didn't work and couldn't be fixed

Internet does not work. No heating or controls. All fires out of order. House was 8c for first 1 and half days with a 2 year old baby it was unacceptable.

Tried to phone and left message re heating on the Friday/Saturday also emailed and got no response. Still have not had phone call or response. Now back home. Also shower head broken so had to hold the head to shower.🙁

Ok for a few days

Nice location and size of property

No option to put on central heating so had to make do with putting the coal fire on to try and heat the house, In need of repairs and bedrooms are damp which was not good for the individual with asthma, This is likely due to no central heating.

Pleasant and practical. Did what it said on the tin.

Property had everything you needed and the fraser was ideal for the dogs.

Access to a Hoover / mop so we could clean up after the dogs. Might help with the dog smell within the property. Alternative bedding options as not sure if the duck feather pillows & duvet were causing the constant itchy feeling in the bed or if it was due to something else.

House is nice and roomy but a bit neglected.

The heating needs to be switched on from another building. When we arrived the first evening the house was cold. Heating only went on the next morning. Dining table situated in a dark corner of the kitchen but no light, just one downlight but without a light bulb. Water in the kitchen sink dripping hard. Simple things lacking, e. g. a proper teapot,sticky cupboards and drawers. Some windows impossible to open, e.g. bathroom window, handles not working. Hot water in the shower very difficult to regulate and lacking pressure. One fireplace totally out of order, the other one very smelly even without using it. General impression: A place that needs to be looked after with more care.

No heating, very cold. after contacting the owner of the property on various occasions and left messages still no contact has been made. Poor contact.

Location was lovely

Only one fire worked there was no wifi the beds were so uncomfortable it was cold when heating wasn’t on as it was on a timer. House wasn’t cosy at all. We were only told on the day one fire place worked we booked for a 4 bed house there were only 3 bedrooms so we were very crammed not happy at all.

Pleasant stay would go back again if the minor niggles of mine were resolved.

Lovely large house in a quiet location. The owner was there to meet me to discuss a potential problem with the boiler that was resolved very quickly. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom shower was good enough. The bathtub was big and comfortable. There were ample towels for three adults for 2 nights. The kitchen is large with a great size dining table. (Instructions for cooker provided as the labels have erased). The log fires are lovely and plenty of wood is provided (albeit a bit damp.)

The upper landing smells damp (probably from rain entering the hall window) The heating keeps going on and off with no control (the boiler and controls are next door in adjoining property). There were a few missing bulbs from lamps. No plug points next to beds for lamps ( a simple extension lead would be beneficial.) No tea towels in the kitchen. Limited and poor quality kitchen utensils, cutlery, and crockery as well as limited and dated glassware. The garden was huge, but of no use, to me as it was not secure for my dog.

Really lovely house that will certainly be revisited.

It was such a lovely house with so much space. It was very warm, clean and comfortable, with an open log fire and a wood burning stove if you wanted any extra heat. The huge garden was fantastic for my dog and we loved the mini snooker table which provided great entertainment on a wet afternoon. It's a shame the loo isn't separate to the shower, but the shower is excellent. The host was extremely helpful.

The kitchen would have benefitted from washing up liquid and hand soap, as well as an extra tea towel and hand towel. Some wine glasses would also have been appreciated.

Great location in the heart of the Cairngorms with all areas in easy drive away plus fantastic walks nearby. Massive garden with a steam at the bottom and very dog friendly

A lovely house that we enjoyed our stay at. Clean and tidy comfortable place. Good location for walks with dog. Neighbours nearby all pleasant Really nice pub across the road which serves really good food, staff all very friendly In this pub, highly recommend their food and kind efforts, a great team.

Family short break

Beautiful house in a very pretty setting. Close to the Deeside villages and towns yet so secluded and very peaceful. Helpful communication from host, loved our short break. Great there's two living rooms , plenty space for everyone to relax. Fabulous garden with outdoor seating

Great value and location for walking in the Cairngorms.

There was plenty of room for us all. I liked the large fridge and freezer. The kids liked the pool table. It was very good value for money and we had an enjoyable experience. Our dog was welcome which was vital.

These are all minor points and did not detract from the day in isolation. The cooker was tricky to use, even with the plan We did not plan to shop so the lack of bin bags and bleach was inconvenient There were cobwebs above some of the beds. The cleaning needs a little more attention The heating controls really need to be in the property. It got a little cold at times, then a bit too warm.

Owner was responsive to any communications Location although quite rural is easily accessible by car. The garden is lovely, and there is ample room for parking There is a pub just across from the property and it serves meals. Lovely wee hamlet and good base to explore the surrounding areas

Heating controlled by the owners Mum in the adjoining property and you have to ask if you want it on/off, hotter etc..With this being an older property, the walls are thick, and although warm outside, the house was cooler than we would have liked. Heating wasn't on the last evening/morning we were leaving. Beds were very firm, and not so comfortable. Property was more sparse than the photos looked, but owner did advise some items such as books etc.. removed due to COVID. Could have had a few more cosy/homely touches that would have complied with COVID
