Great stay love the location

Location and the log burner at this time of year is really good.

The sofa.....bit parnickity but the cushions were forever moving anf felt like i was fixing them every 5 mins.

Gorgeous cosy cottage in a lovely location and handing for sightseeing around the area.

The location is beautiful and the cabin is really cosy with the fire.

Could maybe do with new couches, one of the the cushions just slid off as you were sitting.

We loved the peace and quiet and the trails through the woods.

Absolutely loved it so cozy and comfortable and out in the woods. Wish we could stay longer! Would highly recommend for a relaxed holiday.

Peaceful break left revitalised

The lodge was excellent everything was cleaned to a high standard upon inspection and included everything you would need for a comfortable stay the shower had a decent power which was nice. The wood burning stove was ready to be lit when we got there and it was glorious a real bonus to this stay. There was a tv with a separate dvd player in the lounge with a bookshelf full of dvds and books to use we noted before we came that you could take a book with you if you hadn’t finished reading it as long as you replaced it with another we duly took some old dvds to leave for others to watch what a wonderful idea! There was a BBQ right outside on the porch we used it every night the utensils were included as well. We stayed in the Osprey Lodge right next to the Lochan and although it was privately owned it was still a spectacular view outside the cabin, the wildlife was abundant with many varieties of birds and birds of prey, plenty of red squirrels came to eat the nuts we had brought with us along with the bird seeds and fat balls such a glorious sight watching them all enjoy the feast. There were many little walks around the lodge but we didn’t venture too far as we enjoyed sitting on the picnic bench outside the lodge so much and to top it all was the wonderful weather we were blessed with 22-24C but I’m sure it’s a special place whatever the weather all in all we would highly recommend a stay here if you get the chance.

Got in touch with nature.

What a location! It is a perfect place to get back to nature. The woodcutters cabin is clean, and lovely decorated with a huge decking and a great view of the forest with lots of wildlife on your doorstep.

Lovely location in a beautiful part of Scotland.

The staff were friendly and accommodating . The surroundings were beautiful.

The accommodation was in need of a little spruce up. The blinds in the bedrooms that roll down smelt of damp. It would have been useful to have had more mugs in the kitchen cupboard. The decking wouldn’t be safe for a small child or in our case small dogs . The gaps in the side rails around the decking were too wide. There were renovations being done in the cabin next door which were not quiet but. we accept, necessary . The window in the kitchen fell out during our stay . It was safe and had been boarded up but a window/ blind had been sellotaped in whilst awaiting repair . The fire was lovely but regardless of the advice we had , it wasn’t venting properly and all rooms then smelt of smoke . We only then used it the once .

Fantastic

Everything you needed was readily available, the property was extremely clean with beds made and towels for everyone. The wildlife outside the door was amazing we saw woodpeckers, jays, heard an owl and best of all we saw red squirrels feeding on the nuts we took right on the door step.

The location is absolutely outstanding if you want a break from the world. Close to both Aboyne and Ballater we thought this was an ideal location for our stay.

Location peace and quiet with walks from the door, great bird and squirrel watching and wonderful log burner once it got going.

Electric heater stopped working meaning no heat until fire going. The porch smelt strongly of dogs so we needed to buy air freshners to make it usable for us.

Getaway

Perfect lodge for a getaway. Surrounded by woodland, it's peaceful and beautiful. The woodburner was lovely and toasty. Would highly recommend a stay here
