Comfortable
The fire didn’t work so it was a little chilly - little awkward on very top room could maybe sleep 1 instead of 2.

We liked the location of the property and it’s quirkiness. It was warm and welcoming when we arrived.
The bathroom was very cold and would have benefited from a heated towel rail or heater. The top floor bedroom was very cold and would have benefited from radiator working and having access to some blankets for through the night.
The leaving time of 10:00 was tight with only one bathroom and toilet. If the Cottage was full to its capacity of 6 people it would mean an extremely early get up to all get ready and breakfasted before 10am. Considering we could not access the Cottage until 15:00 the previous day it means it is a rather short stay.

Cottage was gorgeous. Very quirky. Lovely decor and very clean. Location close to Main Street which is what we went for. Owner kept in touch throughout our stay.
Was a bit of a pain having to go up and down stairs to the kitchen so probably wouldn’t stay more than one or 2 nights

Fantastic location, clean, quiet, and cosy warm. Easy check in and communication with owner. Everything you need. Short walk to Howarth main street. Loved our stay. Thank you Nigel
If i had one negative comment, it would be regarding the tv. Small and unable to get any other channels other than standard terrestrial ones. It's not a smart tv, so not able to get any apps for Netflix or Prime. This absolutely would not stop me from staying again, but i would maybe bring a laptop to watch.

The location.
It felt a bit unloved in respects to mismatched duvet covers. Faded lampshades, cheap kitchen units and cooker. No batteries in lights and TV controls. It could be so much better with attention to detail. The loft space is tricky with the head height and tall husband which we were unaware of.

lovely place to stay and a great location.
a bigger tv in the living room and maybe one in the bedroom.

As you enter the property it has a traditional feel to it, perfect for a short stay. The kitchen which is located in the basement is nice, clean and modern. The facilaties and bedroom were both very clean as well.
Can't complain at all.

Cosy clean accomodation walking distance from Main Street.
Steep stairs but this was stated in description and in keeping with a very old property which was what we wanted.

Great location, parking nearby, lovely cottagey feel, nice & clean.
Hassle-free WiFi and great communication from the host, which made our stay easy.
The sofa bed was less comfortable than I’d have liked.

Location was good. We chose to park on the lower streets nearby as the property is on a steep hill. Property is simple, but looked after, main bedroom is lovely.
There could have been a bit more information in welcome book. We only stayed one night so didn't really spend a lot of time in property to use everything.

The host was responsive and his instructions were helpful and clear. Check-in was very smooth. The place was clean and tidy. I really liked the kitchen.
The listing mentioned a smart TV with streaming services, but only a regular TV was available. The host was responsive and explained that the appliance had been stolen by a previous guest. While I understand that this can happen, I feel the description should have been promptly updated to reflect the change, as access to streaming services was one of the reasons I had chosen this property.

It’s really lovely with stone floors and tasteful clean decoration with everything you will need. Plenty of space to sit in the living room and plenty of space and chairs to eat in the kitchen. The owner is on hand if you have any questions or need anything.
It’s an original back to back house, so lots of stairs, this was fine with us. You can’t park directly outside but again lots of parking, so not a bit issue. The single beds are in the eves, so watch your head if you’re tall, the single beds were a bit soft to sleep on but if you have young kids they won’t notice.

The location is very good, we wanted to visit the parsonage and the railway station and the cottage is close by, in a quiet, residential neighborhood.
The cottage looks really lovely and the rooms are nicely decorated. It feels very safe and the first impression is welcoming.
The beds were not overly comfortable, the cushions and blankets on the sofas were dirty, there was no bedding available for the sofa bed although I had inquired earlier, one of the bedsheets upstairs was full of hair. But most off-putting was the kitchen in the basement: although charming to look at, the stench of the damp smell meant we could not use it. It actually made me sick. When I raised the issue with the owner, he was quite dismissive about it and suggested it came from the coal store underneath the house. Only if ridden with mildew and mould would coal smell like that! It is obvious there is a damp problem in the basement and the smell is overpowering.

Excellent location for the Treetop’s restaurant where the wedding party took place
The stone steps and floors were not child friendly for an active toddler, I didn’t bear this in mind when I booked it, my elderly mother also struggled with the stairs, lovely property apart from this.

Pristine and centrally located.
Number of stairs! Steep hill.

The property is in a fantastic location , 3 mins from the train station - 5 mins from the town , two main shops opposite the train station , even some fast food shops 3 mins away , a 3 min drive up to the Brontë pub , ourselves couldn’t ask for a better location , the house itself is a beautiful 4 story house , the lowest floor is an open kitchen room with a lovely kitchen table and chairs , the entrance room is spacious and complete with two chairs and a two seater sofa and tv and even some fun card games which we had a laugh with , the next floor is the double bedroom and bathroom and the top floor is two single beds and the roof window opens up too , the front has a small garden with a two seater bench and a cigarette bin for anyone who smokes , this has been placed in a way that is not unsightly nor would it put anyone off as it’s small and silver attached to the brickwork tucked away nicely , this is such a beautiful property and for the price personally I think it’s an absolute bargain , it is very clean all the way through , bedding was immaculate and towels supplied were immaculate too , the cleanliness is 10/10 , we are that happy with our stay we are going to rebook asap and use this each and Every time we are back in Yorkshire :) Nigel is a great host and half the reason Will would come back is because we feel very comfortable with the care taken to make sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay !

Comfortable and clean with reasonable facilities
Would have liked there to be a coffee table in the lounge. The door to the lounge has no curtain or blind which, if sleeping on the sofa bed, makes the room too light.

Good location and a close walk to Howarth village. Easy check-in process.
Very uncomfortable beds in the properly with extremely flat pillows and the sofa bed shouldn’t be advertised as it is extremely uncomfortable! The property is also a four storey house - not a cottage. It has very steep, stone steps to all floors that were difficult to use with a small baby and my elderly father.

The location was amazing
The cottage was very basic and not very welcoming there was a terrible smell that hit you as you went down into the kitchen like a lot of cats lived there we couldn’t use the kitchen at all the smell travelled upstairs to the living room and bedrooms meaning we didn’t spend anytime in the cottage as we planned we were extremely disappointed for the price we paid and left way before checkout

Property was old but warm. Internet fast. Coffee and tea supply, so thanks.
But little things like a polyester type bed sheet made sleep difficult. Would have preferred cotton please.

We really liked it. We were two sisters and husbands so would have preferred 2 double beds but knew beforehand that there were two singles. The cottage was exceptionally clean but spare pillows didn't have covers and they were stained. That was the only downside.

The property was well located, just a 15 minute stroll to the coffee bars, eateries and shops. Communication from the host was excellent, and the property was dog friendly and extremely clean.

Free parking which is a bonus these days.
Only a short walk to a local shop and a pub.
Probably an extra toilet as there was 4 of us.

Lovely traditional back to back cottage in a quiet neighbourhood. Easy walking distance across a pedestrian railway bridge and park to the bottom of the main shopping street.
A reasonable level of fitness is needed to manage all the stairs with the kitchen being in the basement and one bedroom in the loft.
