Genteel Home Padre Marchena

Good location and convenient. Host was very responsive and allowed us to leave our bags early which was much appreciated!

It was a bit tired and it’s obvious it’s been an apartment rental for a long time. Sofa bed was fine for our 3 year old but it sank in the middle so wouldn’t be good for two adults. Kitchen is not well equipped, I had to ask for cleaning supplies like dishwashing tablets and even after asking for dish soap it was not provided. Also only 1 wine glass and limited forks. It also wasn’t super clean just a bit dusty.

The air conditioning was brilliant and the terrace was wonderful with a great view of the cathedral especially at night! The staff managing the property were so efficient and lovely we got locked out of our apartment at midnight and they couldn’t have dealt with the situation better.

Lots of stairs! The neighbours aren’t particularly friendly we had water poured on us at 11pm on a Friday night for having a 2 person 5 minute conversation outside the apartment building which they clearly didn’t like :/

the flat was very pleasant and the location made it a very convenient place to stay.

having paid the non-returnable fee, I felt like I was being sandbagged to be presented with a compulsory questionnaire about who we were, together with extra conditions for staying at the flat. I was told by the person who brought the keys that I should just ring the office if I had difficulty in arranging a taxi, and it would do it for me. but when I contacted the office it just said it didn't provide that service. I also reported pre-existing damage and faulty lightbulbs, which were "noted" - contrast customer service where we stayed in Cordoba whose response was, "when can we come to replace them". so, nice flat, nice location, pity about the customer service.
