Because of unforeseen maintenance needed on the original room allocated, I was upgraded to a fully self-contained two bedroom apartment set just across the road from the pub. It was obvious that this apartment had been recently refurbished and what an absolute delight it was to stay there. One tiny niggle for me was that the pillows were a little too hard but that’s just a personal preference. I would’ve gladly moved in.
The team in the pub were really welcoming and friendly and both the evening meal and breakfast were really tasty.
I also had the delicious mushroom soup and a really good pint of plum Porter. There was really nothing about this pub, the accommodation or the location I didn’t like and would love to go back and stay longer. My visit was for a four day music workshop held about a 15 minute walk away.
Thank you The Olde Ship Inn for helping make my first visit to Northumberland really enjoyable, comfortable and safe as a solo traveller.

The location was ideal. The small touches in the bedroom such as coffee bags rather than instant coffee was greatly appreciated. The breakfast was exceptional as well and we didn’t need much else to eat for the rest of the day.
Though there is no parking at the Inn. The council car park nearby has free parking from 6pm until 8am, you also get an hour free parking, so if you arrive after 5pm won’t have to pay anything.

Young man serving behind bar in afternoon curly hair glasses, abrupt and impolite, rest of staff lovely

It’s a super hotel with a lot of history and charm, the food was great and they cooked a sausage just for our little dog!

I have stayed at the Olde Ship many times over the last twenty years but not for the last two or three years so it was great to be there once again. This time it was just for two nights but everything seemed just the same to me.I love everything about it and can’t wait to return later in the year !

This was our third stay at the Olde Ship Inn. Again the room was great, bed very comfortable and room warm and cosy. ( It was freezing 🥶 outside and blowing a hoolie).
It was great to be able to go down the stairs to the fabulous bar, which had to be seen to be believed. Full of old shipping memorabilia, service was brilliant and had an open coal fire. 🔥.
Finally breakfast, small well stocked buffet followed by cooked to order breakfast. 🍳
We had another wonderful stay and will probably return next year.

Lots of character as it’s such an old building, beams, creaky floorboards etc. lovely bar with lots of brass, ship memorabilia, roaring real fire. Staff super friendly. Breakfast was excellent, all freshly cooked local produce.

4th visit there and, as usual, it didnt disappoint. The room was lovely and the bed was exceptional. We had dinner on the evening of our arrival, as we usually do, and both agreed it was probably the best yet. The whole experience of staying at the hotel is a genuine treat that we always look forward to repeating, safe in the knowledge that this is an excellently run 'ship'!

Loved the decor, all the great ship themed paraphernalia everywhere. Cosy ambiance. Friendly staff, great food, loved our room 11.
Unfortunately nowhere to park during our stay so council run car park had to be used and was very expensive!

Staff were pleasant and efficient.Room was clean. Bathroom was modern. Plentiful tea, coffee and biscuits in room, plus bottled water. Food in restaurant was good. Bar was lively and well equipped. Comprehensive breakfast menu.
Room was a little compact. Mattresses were far too soft. Walls are paper thin. You can hear neighbours clearly even when they are speaking quietly. No parking on site. Charged £21 for two days parking in an open air council car park. Bit steep for December in a North East fishing village.

We stayed with two dogs in a twin in November. Very modern, clean and quiet room in excellent location. Staff were all very welcoming and dog friendly. We ate dinner in the evening and super food . Breakfast was very good too. Both our dogs happy and given some lovely treats at dinner and breakfast. After long day walking the portions for both us and them were great!

The location was great, right next to the harbour. There was no parking but there is a big car park where you can pay to stay for up to 78 hours
The room was beautiful! Very clean and comfortable. The staff were really great and friendly. The pub it's self is full of character.
We ate twice here for our tea the food was delicious. The Sunday dinner is hard to beat.
Breakfast good too. I would definitely stay here again.
The only thing I can think of is the shower is noisy. That's it
