Kanazawa Machiya Kenroku

The host made this property special. He spent time explaining the history with his samurai ancestors and getting is acquainted to Kanazawa. We even had special sweets he got us to try! If you care about culture, history and Japan - this is a great stay. We also loved eating at Shogun nearby! Great staff and food.

It’s an historic home so low ceilings for my 6”3 husband but bathrooms were completely modern.

This was, without question, one of the most special places we have ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much love, care, and attention has gone into both the home itself and the experience of staying here from the wonderful host Hitty. The house is absolutely beautiful - full of history, warmth, and thoughtful detail - and made our time in Japan feel genuinely unique and unforgettable. Alongside this, it’s spacious, comfortable and has every facility a guest could need. We happened to get engaged during our trip, and the kindness and generosity shown to us by Hitty to celebrate this completely blew us away. He went so far above and beyond to make this moment feel personal and memorable, and we were deeply touched by the warmth and hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. More than just accommodation, this felt like being welcomed into somewhere truly meaningful. It became one of the highlights of our entire trip and somewhere we know we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you again for such an extraordinary experience. We could not recommend staying here more highly.

Very friendly and helpful host. Hitty went above and beyond. Also his wife provided beautiful ikebana flower arrangements for our stay. So many nice touches
