It was right in the middle of the Nagamachi Samurai district with its museums and history. It was also a nice walk to the Market. The house was very clean and well maintained, the baths were great to use and fun as well. My kids liked staying there, one was sick at the time and didn't leave the house but it as comfortable enough to stay in all day. We ate at the nearby restaurants though some of them would need advance reservations. There's also plenty of parking nearby if you drove there.
It got a bit warm downstairs if you're sleeping there due to the floor heating, turning it off if sleeping on the futons would be recommended unless you welcome the heat. It was also a bit far for a quick kombini run, it took a 15-20min to walk to the nearest one, not something we can quickly do.
