It was very nice. The views were great. The bedroom upstairs is not really suited for an adult as the access is tricky and the ceiling on entering very low, but fine for children.

We enjoyed our stay here; however, it is worth noting that it takes 88 steps to get from the garage to the loft. The setting is relaxing, and it is just a short but steep walk to the city center. Our host, Volker, communicated well before and during our stay.

Lovely property just above the Hauptstrasse and below the castle. Easy to walk to all the cafes, restaurants, Neckar river, etc. Quiet place nestled in the trees with lovely green views of the local hills!

We had a great time in Heidelberg. A quick taxi ride from Hauptbahnhof and we were relaxing inside.
The pool table was a big hit.
Nights were quiet and restful.
Thank you for the beers waiting- I left a few tannenapfel to replace them.
A laundry machine would have been great. In town 2-3 day turnaround for laundry service. (We never found coin operated machines).

Conveniently located close to the castle and old town. We appreciated refreshments provided by the host. The property is well maintained.

This apartment was ideal for my 5 day stay in Heidelberg. It is a short walk (7 mins downhill, 10 mins uphill) from the Universitätsplatz. It was quiet, well furnished, and convenient. Loved the pool table. There was a dishwasher but no clothes washer (but the laundromat on Uniplatz worked just fine. Volker provided a warm welcome. I would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a very convenient location. Surrounded by the forest, castle and the river path.

We liked that this place is in a natural setting right near the castle. It's an uphill walk from the main street, but that was ok with us. The pool table is a fun amenity we've certainly never had before. The angled ceiling in the loft is quite low, so that space felt smaller than we expected. But the ultra-modern shower room is impressive and spacious. Volker is a wonderful host, and we appreciated the drinks in the fridge!

While most of our work team are at the major hotels with long walks to the city center, this spacious Vrbo is central to everything. Will always try to get this space when I return.

We loved our stay and the apartment was a just as described. We loved the close location to the old town area and our biggest regret is thT we didn't have time for another night. Highly recommend.

Location is amazing, quick walk to castle, old town, and trails. Cup of coffee on terrace in morning with great views, solitude, and a drink at night while playing billiards, would gladly return.

This was a very nice stay for our family. The owner was kind and quick to respond, and even contacted me quickly for a forgotten item. The pool table was nice for the down time. The view is amazing. Everything is walkable, however it’s on a big hill and there are a lot of steps. We are a fairly fit family and the walk tired us out. But overall I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

This place is located perfectly within the city. You have a parking spot. The steps are a little difficulty if your not in a decent shape, the apartment is great. 2 terraces, wonderful views

Fantastic place!
This amazing apartment has to be seen to be believed. It is very close to the town and just a short walk to the main tourist attraction of Heidleberg - the castle. The leafy suburb is calming and serene. The owner is very thoughtful and provided excellent communication. I would not hesitate in staying here again.

Great location with everything you could want
The location is great, just a quick walk down the hill to the old town part of Heidelberg. Volker was very pleasant and helpful. The pool table is a nice touch for entertainment in the evening after a day of exploring the great village off Heidelberg. Volker stocks that apartment with everything you will need to get you started on your stay. He was very easy to communicate with and we had no issues finding the place on our way into town.

What a great location! We were a quick stroll from just about everything (shopping, the castle, the university, etc). The property was very well maintained and comfortable. Chilling on the balcony at the end of a long day of hiking while the kids played pool was an added bonus. We would happily recommend it to anyone. One of the real highlights was Volker (the owner) himself. He was exceptionally helpful and friendly. His English is excellent, and he made us feel like welcomed guests and not just paying customers. There IS a steep set of stairs to get from the parking to the room, so if you have someone that cannot manage the stairs, be forewarned. This wasn't much of a problem for us, but I didn't see an alternative if someone was in a wheelchair or struggled with stairs. Overall, a great spot to stay. We loved it!

Great apartment, great location!
Such a great apartment and within walking distance to all of the things we did while in Heidelberg (old town, castle, river cruise, etc.). We played pool every night when we got back to the apartment....what a great addition! It was nice to have a designated parking spot in the garage, although very tricky to maneuver getting in and out. Note there's also not a microwave in the apartment, but that wasn't a problem for us. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Three of us visited Heidelberg from March 31-April 2. We took a taxi from the train station and Volker was waiting for us at the entrance of the loft apartment and carried our suitcases up the stairs. . The apartment is bright and airy with a nice size kitchen and bathroom. My husband and I used the bedroom that had curtains for privacy and our friend used the pullout bed in the living room. There is also a bed in the loft area. All beds had lovely feather duvets. The loft is conveniently located to the castle and the Old Town. Volker was kind to stock the refrigerator with water, beer, wine, and other essentials. Please note that there are several flights of stairs. My husband and I are in our 60’s and this was not an issue for us since we have good mobility.

This is a fantastic unit. We rented it for three nights over Christmas 2016. I would highly recommend it, especially for families with older children. The loft space was great for our teenagers and my husband and I stayed in the bedroom on the main floor off the kitchen.
The owner even had Christmas decorations up for us inside...and a decorated and lighted tree on the patio!
We had plenty of space. The kitchen is well-equipped and has a dishwasher as well as an oven.
It's a nice walk further up the hill and across to the castle, and only a couple blocks down the hill to get to the main street in the Altstadt.

Comfortable Eagle's Nest view over Heidelberg.
Comfortable Eagle's Nest view over Heidelberg.
We arrived in rain and flood and quite soggy - but were made very welcome by Volker who appeared almost instantly when we called him. He gave us a great introduction to the property. There was garage space for our bikes at road level. The apartment was attractive, sunny with excellent north-facing windows letting in good light and giving a wonderful view clear over Heidelberg and on to what i think must be Mannheim. It is clean and spacious and there is, by golly, a magnificent pool table just as described. Bathroom is big with plenty of towels and a good shower and separate toilet. The kitchen was very pleasant and well-equipped though there was no microwave and the coffee machine took a bit of figuring out (there's a little slider thing embedded in the top of it that actually turns it on but it's not obvious to a person unfamiliar with Keurig type machines). There were some basic supplies as well as coffee and tea. Neither the coffee machine nor the microwave at all detracted from our stay and I mention them only for informational purposes.
There was a very comfortable right-angled couch and two big comfortable beds with nice linens. The attic bed requires a stooped position and a climb up a ladder, but that wasn't an issue for us at all. Kids would love it because it is like being on the bridge of a ship. Everything about the place was just as advertised and the reality was even better than the pictures. It was also very quiet at night even with the many windows open. Minor traffic noise but not a big racket or people yelling as they exit bars. There's a balcony that we'd have used more if it had ever stopped raining!
There are approximately 40 steps from the garage up to the door and then more steps inside on a circular staircase up to the apartment, so this is not suited for anybody with mobility issues. The walk down to the old town is about five minutes steeply downhill and about double that coming back up! The walk to the castle is maybe 10-15 minutes somewhat up, but not to be missed. We thought it was a lovely place, great value and very comfortable and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. We contemplated moving in and staying forever!

Unterkunft hat unseren Erwartungen nicht entsprochen
Unterkunft hat unseren Erwartungen nicht entsprochen
Wir (Paar, um die 50 Jahre) waren vom 20. – 23.
