Staying in Svolaer outside the center

I personally liked the location, as it's close to a supermarket plus gas station and you can access the center and docks by a small 5 minute walk - but you are right outside the city, which means easy parking and nice view on the mountains surrounding the city. My single room was well furnished and had a nice shower. I saw no staff around but to me that's great because it shows you don't need to have people around in order to access all facilities. Breakfast was nice and with a good selection of food. Acceptable WiFi. I'd recommend this if you are simply looking for a neat place to sleep while either visiting the city or passing through.

See above, if you are looking to have a reception and people around you won't have that here - at least in this period!

A good spread of norwegian bread, butter and other stuff. Contactless service and good location. Also, the shared kitchen were clean.

Two single beds which could not be comfortably combined into a double bed. Usable though, we spent a single night.

Staff was great. Location was nice. Wi-fi and breakfast included.

150eur/night for one person is a very steep price to pay for the amenities offered. Very tiny bed, no shampoo, no toothbrush kit, and the blinds didn’t really block the light very well. Norway is expensive but this wasn’t good value for money at all. It was an “emergency” booking or else I would not have done it at that price.

They charged twice in my credit card and i found that after i left from the hotel. They do not reply my calls, the process is in progress with credit card company now but it might take time. The hotel itself was good and i usually select big hotel companies but Radisson does not look good.

Good location close to the Djevelporten trailhead

Budget hotel in a good location close to a bus stop and 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The rooms are small but reasonably comfortable if you are OK with a very narrow bed. There is a fridge in the room which is very useful for budget travellers, and also a kitchen to prepare meals - it's well equipped with hotplates, microwave and oven but bring a sharp knife if you want to prepare food. There is a REMA budget supermarket 5 minutes down the road for stocking up. Overall, decent value for money for Svolvaer especially considering that breakfast is included in the price.

The check in procedure for someone who doesnt have a Norwegian telephone number is a nightmare. Thankfully we tracked a real person down to help us. Please start using email to communicate with customers. We would have been completely locked out otherwise.

I cannot find anyone in the hotel receiption to obtain the room key codes. As told, the room key code was sent by hotel to my mobile number & my email but I could not receive either one. We could only use IDD to call hotel & then they said they come down to the hotel to give me the room key codes. For foreign travellers, it was more effective to communicate by email instead of sending message to mobile number. However, I find out that hotel just use booking.com email as my email & that's why I had not recevie the key code from my personal email.

Exceptional

The place is cosy with all accomodation. Room was large and we could use the kitchen to cook our meal. So we had an excellent dinner like at home. Morning breakfast is provided with a large range of products. We enjoyed our stay. Thanks all even if it's a contactless place.
