A good hiking base, many opportunities of walks around

Uncomplicated check-in., easy-going atmosphere inside.

They don't really answer phone, with delay respond only to messages. No bus really, you have to walk over Fredvang bridges from Fredvang Kryss (nearest bus stop) 40-50 minutes which can be challenging during windy weather.

Good hostel in Fredvang

Good hostel with parking and friendly staff. Every bed was equipped with sockets (Very important) and a light. Bed sheets and a towel were included in the price. There are no supermarkets in Fredvang, the nearest one is in Ramberg.

Beautifully located around scenic hiking and spacious place with many shared rooms and comfortable common kitchens and dining areas to meet other travelers and enjoy calm.

Some rooms have many more beds that makes things a bit cramped and have fewer shared toilets and showers is not ideal.

Great affordable stay right on the fjords and near natural attractions!

Cosy hostel in the prettiest part of Lofoten. Loved how accessible some top-tier hikes were from the hostel. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms were clean. Easy to meet people.

Need to walk 3km to get to the nearest bus stop and there are no food options or grocery shops in the neighbourhood so you need to come prepared if you are travelling without a car. Walk from the bus stop is super beautiful though, hitch hiking is possible and there are plenty of hike options if you’re willing to walk the extra 2-5km to the trailheads.

Excellent location. Excellent options, and reasonable cost for things like jacuzzi and sauna. Really nice staff. Great base for seeing this area of Lofotens.

We had ground floor so had to go outside to access kitchen. This was not an issue for us.

Great place, helpful and lovely owner/management

Superfriendly staff with warm welcoming from Sylwia and others.They gave resourceful information on the area and hikes. They helped us with laundry. Kitchen was nice and gathered travellers. Room was spacious and a good idea with the dark curtains.

Great stay with unbeatable views right at sea!

Amazing views on the mountains, sea, high bridges of Fredvang. It’s a great location to explore Lofoten! I stayed 3 nights at the 1 bedroom appartement right at the sea with a big terrace & the prices for Lofoten are quite budget friendly! I traveled many times to Lofoten & I would def recommend this place. The apartment looked way nicer than what I expected. Inside freshly painted & very beach-shack-Lofoten vibes style decorated. Shower clean and hot, bed comfy, I cooked up some nice simple meals in the kitchen after outdoor adventures, I did appreciate the very comfy couch in the appartement from where I enjoyed the beautiful scenery outside. It was a great stay! I have meet the manager, Sylwia & she made sure that everything was in order, very friendly! Tusen takk!

I loved my stay but the walls are very thin. It’s a very cool, quaint old wooden building so…For me wearing earplugs (I always do during the night) did the job!

It was low season and I got an upgrade and stayed in an apartment. The view of the sea was nice. There was everything what I needed, comfy sofa :) It was simple and old, but very very comfy. My dog stayed without extra charge.

There were other guest upstairs and I heard noises from steps :(

No way I’m going to stay here again. Price and quality does not match.

Location is nice, close to the hikes. Nice view.

Too loud and very old facilities. Paper thin walls with really bad sound proof. You can hear noises from all directions, from neighbor snoring, from people talking right outside of bedroom window, people walking up and down the stairs, and people walking on top of your roof. I paid 180€ and I expected more. It’s not because of Lofoten area is expensive because I booked another hotel deeper in Lofoten with same amount of money and it is 10 times better.

Calm beautiful stay

This is a beautiful place, isolated after the bridge but really confortable, calm and beautiful. Staff is nice, enthousiast and helping. There are 2 kitchens with fires, oven, fridges etc. The deck with confortable chairs in front of the view was really great. The room was big, beautiful, calm and confortable. Shared bathrooms and separated toilets were clean, and good size. It is posible to go to the Ryten and Kvalvika beach from the hostel, and another beach close. There are sauna and jacuzzi at the place.

You have to know that there is no restaurant or grocery store nearby. But we knew and brought our food, and it is fine!

Sylwia and Julia are extremely friendly and helpful and very keen to help everyone.

After the many great hostels and youth hostels with friendly hosts, this one is a bitter disappointment. It is run very loveless and only the bare necessities are provided for. I strongly advise against a longer stay (if possible none at all). For the many beds there are only two toilets and two showers, there is no common room except for the too small kitchen (use from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. is prohibited) and everything is very noisy. The owner is grumpy, but rarely to be found and, unlike her staff, not at all bothered. Instead, she put up a tablet with prices for, among other things, showers (50NOK), sauna (500NOK) and use of the washing machine/dryer (100NOK).

Good base for Lofoten trips

Good location for a daily trips on Lofoten islands. Room quite big including kitchen and bathroom. Separate bedroom is nice when you travel with kid. Huge tarace with view on the bay and mountains. A lot of place to sit and enjoy the view. Staff really amazing!

Can be loud when group of tourists do the party on tarace.

Very nice location in front of thé fjord, possible to expérience a great sauna and jacuzzi. Owner very dedicated. Bé aware that fredvang IS not served by bus, it IS a 40min walk from thé bus stop with 2 bridges to cross, and there IS no restaurant nor supermarket in fredvang, but there IS a good foodtruck near thé last bridge. Idéal location to Bégin thé kvalvika and ryten hike

We had a spacious apartment with a great view over the fjord. It was a great location to do the walk to Kvalvika beach (which we liked).

The bistro on the property has closed and it was a 6 kilometre ride on our bicycles to the grocery store, so we bought some meals from the food van at the rest area.

Most beautiful place to stay - though not the best hostel around.

The location is amazing, fantastic views all around, and a great base for most beautiful hikes. Within 20 min easy walk we could reach the beach by the camping site to view the midnight sun! The staff was most helpful and nice!

If you are traveling without a car, it is NOT easy to reach by walking. more than 3 km of walk on narrow bridges with some uphill. If you are with a backpack - it became not an easy walk at all - thought the views are stunning! The same to leave. The dormitories are with 8 pax!, The walls bw the dorms and the kitchen are so thin - you can here them cooking and talking way into the night. The communal kitchen is a bit disappointing: small, and not much cooking or eating spaces. And it is the only communal space: around the table with its kitchen chairs. So if you have a bunk bed at the top - you don't really have anywhere just to rest... Remember to bring food with you, because there is no meals at the hostel, and no food shop or restaurants in Fredvang.

One night before Ryten hike with cold showers

Friendly staff, kitchen was fully equipped, good location, dog friendly (180 NOK fee).

We didn’t check reviews properly, so didn’t know about cold water in shower at the evenings. When I went to speak with a lady at reception, she said she doesn’t know what seems to be a problem, maybe just electricity issues, and I should try showers on the 2nd floor. The water turned cold almost immediately, I ended up taking cold shower and got sick.

Very cosy and relaxed place close to hikes.

It feels very cosy and clean at the same time. Place is not new but it is organised in a way that you feel welcome. It's close to Kvalvika and Ryten hike. It's a bit more remote location but nice to stay there at least w nights to chill a bit. Good common kitchens.

It's a bit far from the bus stop (40 min walk) and there is no food store around so you need to BRING FOOD with you.
