The property was conveniently located close to the arrival of Hurtigruten.
It was not cleaned properly. There were crumbs on the nightstand in our room. In my mother’s room, neither of the bedside reading lamps worked. When I spoke to the front desk, they suggested I pull the bed away from the wall to see if it was plugged in. While this did turn out to be the solution, I don’t expect to be moving furniture when I am staying at a hotel.

The hotel is situated excellently near the center of Svolvaer without being so close that it was noisy. The blackout blinds in the room were fantastic at blocking out the light from the midnight sun. The breakfast area was spacious and the breakfast itself was superb - in fact, it was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had anywhere outside of a 5 star.
The beds were a little too soft. This is a problem with a lot of mid-size hotels unfortunately. In addition, the single pillow provided wasn't enough to provide a comfortable sleep - they should either provide thicker pillows or provide multiples of them. Finally, the heating/cooling system in the rooms was impossible to manipulate, leaving us with a room that was either too hot or too cold.

Good location, friendly staff and good buffet breakfast.
No elevator to second floor rooms, we had to carry our suitcases up a decent flight of stairs. No free parking at the front of the hotel, we had to pay to park our rental car.

Room with small terrace and good view.
Breakfast is very good.
Hot water for shower is terrible.

Really good breakfast

The staff changed my tiny room to a slightly larger one on the same old second floor; location; breakfast; decoration in some public spaces; parking; view.
15 minute wait for hot water in the evening and no hot water at all only in the morning. In reply to my remark the front desk gentleman explained that most people don't shower at 6 am. Not surprisingly, there was no compensation for cold showers.
The second floor is a little run down (see photos). In the room itself there is no refrigerator, no stand to put the bag on, no kettle, heavy door that requires force to open.
Worst of all are very high, unjustified rates (about 2220 NOK or 220 USD per night for a tiny, poorly equipped room).
Public spaces are pretty, well decorated, but the 15+ square meter room is unfit.

Easy walk, centrally located to harbour for quick access to Magic Ice and fjord cruise, shopping.. Free parking and easy access to room, quiet and convenient, comfortable.
Fabulous buffet breakfast. Room had a lovely terrace style back door opening to outdoor sitting. Friendly and accommodating staff. Nice front bar area. Good gym.
It's a bit rough around the building and poorly indicated drive into the hotel, at the back and building colour not same as in photo. It's red now. It's somewhat confusing and difficult to locate.

We stayed at the sister hotel Scandic Svolvear as this one was closed for the season.
Our room was delightful, overlooking the water and fishing huts across the water. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed with everything we needed. The balcony was a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.
The breakfast here was fabulous, and a great opportunity to try local fish and produce.
Our only negative would be that we ended up staying at the sister hotel to this one, which was lovely, but we only found out when we arrived to a very deserted hotel after our days drive from Evenes. Thankfully it was just a short drive further around the harbour.

We got moved to Scandic Svolvaer and had an absolute blast. The room was great, the view was absolutely amazing, and breakfast was unexpectedly awesome. We almost canceled our other hotels just to stay here again! Definitely make sure you get up for the breakfast buffet!
There is no free parking like it says in the description. Free parking is a mythin Svolvaer, you will not find it.

The rooms were a bit small for the price.

Location & helpful staff
We had booked a room at this hotel but got a mail approx 2 weeks before that the hotel is closed & we are being shifted to Scandic Svolvaer.
However the room at Scandic Svolvaer was very small with literally no amenities. Breakfast was nothing to Rave about compared to Scandic standards.
We were also promised free private parking but at Scandic Svolvaer, the receptionist told us bluntly that the same cannot be provided & we should park in public parking around the hotel.
Thankfully we were in svolvaer on the weekend when there are no restrictions on the time duration & also it is free for the weekend.
Else we not only would have to shell out the money for parking but also would have to renew the parking ticket every 4 hrs ( maximum time one can park in public parking).
All in all, not a very pleasant experience.

Great breakfast and a very good location. Good value for money. I travelled with my dog and we had a room with an outside door on ground floor which was great.

There were many breakfast options to choose from. It was delicious. Everything was presented in an aesthetic way and it all looked very fresh.
I would have liked the receptionist to explain how to use the key to open and lock the door. Thankfully a hotel guest helped us out. She told us how she struggled to figure out how it worked.

We had a pleasant stay at the Scandic Vestfjord Hotel and stayed for a night on our round trip. Due to a few documents needed for our trip we kindly asked the young woman at the reception for some printouts and some calls to Norwegian organizations. She helped us out the best she could and made our stay even more pleasant. we will come back

Family room was pretty big with two big beds. The room opened on the outside with a nice place with tables close to the sea. Location is very easy, close to the center and to the car rental (Hertz).

Dear Scandic Vestfjord Lofoten Team, we had an extraordinary stay at your lovely and cosy hotel. Thanks to the stuff, we felt like "at home" at your house. The breakfast was really perfect and such a large selection! We had a handicap room on the 1st floor, it was perfect and really quiet. The bed was also very comfortable! There are enough free parking spaces, and Svolvear ist perfect located for daily trips. Hope to see you again soon.
well, it was a bit dusty and we guess, there was no cleaning the whole 6 days. we´v got new toiletpaper and new towels, that was ok, but the floor and the bathroom itself did not get any cleaning.
Just a suggestion, if it is possible, it would be more helpful for a handicap person, to have some handles in the shower. thanks.
