A good stay in a fine location.

Location is excellent being very close to Southampton Central Station & the city centre & cultural centre. The owners are very pleasant & helpful.

Getting tired!

The friendly welcome and chat. My room was okay but decorating is needed. It was spacious, all be it long and narrow! It felt homely and had a TV but difficult for me to navigate channels. The location is convenient for railway station and buses to City from across road.

I had stayed before but lack of decorating inside and out Disappointingly. Bed comfortable but old and needs replacing!

Lots of stairs but a lovely little room

Loved that the room had a radiator so I could dry all of my stuff on rainy days. Draws, wardrobe and ensuite bathroom.

Struggled to work out how to use the shower but figured it out in the end. Room does get very warm as I was on the top floor

Perfect location with a happy, easy going host!

Location perfect for railway station, port, town Quay, old town and for seeing the ships - walked a lot but buses excellent from Civic Hall and number 19 bus passes the guest house!

The bathroom needs updating but the lovely host has a 4 week old baby and is very aware and apologised. The cost was okay for Southampton and I got breakfast nearby. I am a life long youth hosteller so everything else seems expensive. The welcome was wonderful and worth its weight in gold as it made you overlook the quirky bits ;-). I slept well anyway after walking 4 miles during the day and evening.

Perfect base for the night

Really nice nights sleep at this B&B. Super friendly host, great location at spotlessly clean. Looked for budget accommodation as I only really needed bed for a few hours and am so happy I found this place. Free parking available although it might get a bit tight if more than 3 cars on the driveway

Pleasent stay and good location

Location is really close to the train station and short walk into the city centre. Single room was small but comfortable for 1 night. Room was warm, a got a bit hot but opening the window allowed a nice breeze. Blackout curtains were great! Host was lovely!

Shower was hit and miss with hot water, sometimes went cold before going warm again. Not overly powerful either, just enough for a quick shower. Although the bed was comfortable enough, the mattress, pillows and duvet have seen better days and definitely need to consider replacing. The room needs a little revamp.

If I were to ever go back to Southampton, I’d definitely want to go back here

Host was exceptionally friendly. She had communicated prior that currently breakfast at the property is not possible, which was much appreciated. The room came with a set of towels and some soap, shampoo, etc. The property was a 5 minute walk from the train station where you’ll also find a supermarket and places to eat or have coffee, which was very convenient. You could tell the whole place was a little used up which served no issue for me as it was clean and comfortable overall.

Cute guesthouse with many great possibilites with some upgrades and TLC.

Cute little guesthouse in a good location to train station. Good value. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were small but functional and clean. Breakfast room was closed so cannot rate. All in all a decent little guesthouse that, with a few little improvements, would be a great place to stay again.

Guesthouse is rather dated and requires some TLC (ie paint, ceiling repairs in bathroom/shower, newer furniture). Beds seemed well used and were uncomfortable and need to be replaced.

Very friendly host, good location from town centre and station. All basics provided and OK (Tea-coffee, Kettle, Towels etc) very good value for money.

Unable to provide breakfast service due to incident in dining room but was notified well in advance of stay.

The owner could have been there on arrival. Exterior of building looked as if had not been painted in years The room was a dreadful colour and net curtains on windows were ripped and very discoloured. Toilet seat was grim and sealant around shower was also grim

Overnight stay in Southampton

The venue was great 4 me as short walking distance from rail station. Included self help cerial & toast breakfast in price. Had unprompted upgrade to double room as available. Room was at back of house so quiet at night. Pleasant decor in communal rooms with painting on wall in bedroom added to ambiance. Ensiute room with towels & toiletries provided which is good to know when travelling light. WiFi worked in bedroom. Welcome chocolate by kettle in room was nice welcome.

Noticed in morning that room 9 door rattled so may need paper to put in door or ear plugs Need to take own hot water to dining room as host was away but had a flask so no bother.

Bathroom not only small and cramped, but there is only one shell behind the toilet that towels are on. No hooks anywhere, even in shower. Sink so small water frequently splashes out and it is also over the toilet. No cabinet either. Neighbors below very loud late at night and from 4-6am one night

Cosy room, kind hostess, great for a night!

Parking in front of the house, a simple but comfortable room, breakfast in the morning. The person who helped us wasn't that knowledgeable about gluten free foods (I can deal with traces of cause I'm not celiac, but the toast was made in the same toaster as the regular bread) but she was very willing to help in any way, so my guess is that if you explain more, she'll figure out a way to get you a safe tasty breakfast as well!

My fiancé said the sausages at breakfast tasted a little cheap (very flour-heavy), but that's the only thing I could think of.

Great Glenmore Guesthouse

Value for money and location. Owner of the guesthouse was brilliant, she greeted me with a smile when I arrived (half hour early for checking in) and was very helpful. Breakfast was nice and cooked to perfection. I will definitely book again

Cracking hotel run by a lovely young woman

Lovely owner made to feel very welcome, especially with being a single woman staying, Bedding was lovely and a towel with little body wash, shampoo and conditioner was laid on the bed which was adorable, I had my own shower in my room and was definitely the most amazing shower definitely recommend 😍

Good value for short stays

The room was small but clean. Breakfast was very good and plentiful for the rate. It was near town. We didn't know that our key could be used after hours. The Guesthouse could use a little refreshing (paint) but overall it satisfied our needs for one night. The person who checked us in (Kaylee) was very friendly and helpful.

The hallways were dark and it would have been nice if the lights were left on.

The property was in a good location for us. Host was exceptionally nice & helpful. I hadn’t got a chance to print out our luggage tags before our cruise & she was very helpful to us on that. The breakfast was very good. We had a comfortable place to relax while waiting until time to leave to board our ship.

There was a couple in a room close to us that were yelling at each other early in the morning & woke us up (obviously not the owner’s fault but irritating).
