You definitely need a car but it's only a 10-minute drive to Montecatini Terme. Or 5 minutes to Montecatini Alto and then get the funicular to Terme which is a lovely way to travel. Pool area was great with a fabulous view of the the area and comfortable sun loungers. We also had fun playing pool and table tennis, or just chilling out watching the new season of Slow Horses! Paolo also put us in touch with Nicole - https://lemongrassandoliveoil.com/ - who cooked us a delicious meal one of the nights. Villa was well appointed with welcome snacks and wine/prosecco - nice touch!
A minor point, but a mirror in the bedrooms would be nice! Bed was 3/5.
