Great stay at traditional Bed & Breakfast

Nice little traditional bed and breakfast that is getting rarer to find these days. Private car park is right outside entrance. Host Eva came to greet us on our arrival, helped us with luggage upstairs. Room is spotlessly clean, well maintained and cosy. Bathroom is somewhat small but functional. Location is great, walkable to Penzance centre, and bus stops are right round the corner, where the buses could take you to the major tourist spots like Marazion, St. Ives (no need to change at St Erth) and Mousehole. Particularly good is the made to order traditional English breakfast.

The toilet/ shower room was way too small. I am a big man with knee problems and I found the ensuite confronting and uncomfortable. It may not be the same for small people but I didn’t use the shower because I was worried I may get stuck in it.

The room size was generous and staff friendly and welcoming. The is a short walking distance to town. There is a bus stop nearby if you want to visit other small villages in the coastline.

Absolutely faultless

Pristine is the only way I can describe this accommodation and my bed was so comfortable - hugely impressed! Breakfast was delicious with a great range of healthy options and the location was great for me - a quick walk from the bus and train station and right on the South West Coast Path. I was travelling alone and felt extremely safe and welcomed by Claire and her team.

Super friendly, professionally run guest house in a convenient location

We chose it for the location and good reviews & weren’t disappointed. The room (1) was ‘cosy’, clean and comfortable, with 2 chairs and occasional table at the window with a side view of the bay. Only 4 guest rooms ensured a homely and personalised welcome. There is a fridge on the landing with fresh milk and reasonably priced bottles of water and snack options as an honesty box. The breakfast was amazing, with gluten free options including sausage & cereal; nothing was too much trouble. Claire, the hostess , is jolly, attentive and caring. Nothing was too much trouble and, as a local, her knowledge of the area clear and freely shared. Less than 10’ walk from the bus & train station and onwards into town, Tesco’s & other supermarkets and fuel stations in the other and a bus stop around the corner with a view of Mounts Bay, the sound of the sea on the shingle and a designated parking space we highly recommend a stay. We’ll be back!

There is nothing detrimental to report. Our room had a very small en-suite and a double rather than king bed, but it had the better view. You pays your money, you makes your choice. We’ll ask for room 2 next time!

Outstanding place in Penzance

Immaculate, comfortably furnished room and a breakfast unmatched in my experience with b-and-b in inns. Many menu choices and generous scheduling of the time for breakfast. Quality food, good coffee. We reserved the premium room with bay window and a view of the water. We had plenty of room to spread out there for our three-day stay. Bay Lodge is situated well for walking to amenities.

The host was expecting me to arrive, and was delighted to welcome me on the site. The room had a great view on the seaside and the railway and had many power sockets.

Ideal spot near the edge of town perfect for exploring the area

Breakfast was amazing everything was fresh . Owners were lovely and made us feel welcome they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable in their bnb. Rooms were so clean mattress was so comfortable it. They have memory foam mattresses so unlike some hotels in the area they have the old spring mattresses which are uncomfortable.

Everything was perfect! Definitely coming back again

Amazing hospitality from Claire and Kevin! I requested an early check-in after a long train journey, and Claire kindly had the room ready for me in no time. The room exceeded my expectations: clean, comfortable and welcoming. The location is ideal, especially if you're using public transport like I was. It's just a short walk to both the train station and the bus stop, which made it really easy to explore places like St Ives and St.Micheal's Mount. Breakfast was delicious and set me up perfectly for the day. I also had the chance to meet other solo travellers and even made a new friend, all thanks to Claire’s warm and welcoming atmosphere. I felt truly looked after throughout my stay. Thank you for making my spontaneous trip to Cornwall so special!

Excellent find for a short stay

Such a lovely find! Quiet area just outside town centre. Easy walk into town and super close to walk (the 1hr) to Marazion. Clare was so friendly and welcoming. Excellent home cooked breakfast! The room has a small balcony area and a chair and table were provided to sit out and enjoy the view of St Michael's Mount. A really good find. Thanks so much Clare and Kevin!

Perfection in Penzance

A very comfortable and welcoming place. Easy to access parking. Short walk to any and all in Penzance. We also walked to and fro to St Michael’s Mount though there is plentiful parking adjacent to the causeway to the Mount. Breakfast was prepared to order with lots of choices and was as good as any we have had.

Will be my ‘go to’ accommodation in Penzance when I am next here. Loved my stay

I travelled by train and the property is convenient for the railway station in Penzance. A very warm welcome from Claire, the owner, to whom nothing seemed too much trouble (throughout my stay). Side sea view from the window. Room was light and airy with a comfortable bed. Plenty of choice for either continental or full English breakfast. This B&B is ideal for the South West Coast Path, the reason for my stay; it’s just across the road.

Cosy, clean and comfortable stay in Penzance!

We were very warmly welcomed by Clare when we arrived well before check in time & she was able to offer some suggestions of what we could see & do in Penzance for the day which we really appreciated. Our room was cosy with a lovely side view across the road to the ocean from the bay window. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast is generous, made to order and delicious. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Fab stay in a comfortable room and great location - also great value.

Breakfast was hearty or light, depending on what you want. You can have continental, toast with spreads, omelettes or full english (or variations of breakfast) to your own preference. Cooked breakfasts between 8-8.45am. Generous juices and hot drinks, plus cereals and yogurts. Claire was front of house, and very welcoming and accommodating and offered a daily refresh of the room if you wanted anything cleaned or tidied. She can give you tips for places to each, she recommended the Mackerel Sky Cafe Bar in nearby Newlyn, which was fabulous (there are 2 of them, several doors apart).

It was a great stay, I don't want to criticise anything. It is great value and not a rip off for out of town visitors, like some places. There are not many rooms, so hopefully the guests around you are considerate and don't make too much noise. We were lucky and I think everyone tried to be quiet to respect others.

absolutely everything. the warm welcome by clare. the wonderful suite (room 2) very cosy with absolutely comfortable bed and bedding (incl. choice of two styles of pillows). kevin’s fantastic omelet and mushrooms on toast - a feast. clare’s fruit salad fruit salad excellent and refreshing. clare and kevin are super hosts😊. thank you ever so much for the quality time in your home. our highest recommendation. convenient for non-drivers - an easy 10 minute walk to train/bus station. closer to bay lodge bud stop both directions - check out which lines! when planning your stay - note that st. michael’s mount visit is not possible on saturday - no boatride or visit of garden. if you plan visit to porthcurno or minnack theatre - allow 2 hours for visiting the extensive very educative and most interesting museum of communication. very worthwhile😊. have a wonderful time in penzance!

Pleasant stay at very reasonable price

Good location close to the station. I had a small but pleasant room that had a little balcony. Wonderful breakfast! Friendly family run B&B. Hosts strived to find a taxi but couldn’t. Busy Saturday and no taxis available. I’m grateful that they let me keep my suitcases all day- after I checked out.
