About this house rental
Phoenix Nest, our romantic and spectacular oceanfront vacation home, is nestled on two glorious acres of forest right on the ocean.
The 2500 square foot, newly remodeled home is bright and airy and includes a 44-foot living room with windows throughout overlooking the ocean. The two master bedroom suites also have unsurpassed, sweeping views of the ocean. The house has great privacy. You can hear the waves crash and see the osprey and gulls fly by as the low tide unveils the rocks and sandy beach. Watch gorgeous sunsets from the deck or hot tub.
From the hot tub, enjoy watching sea lions surfing or resting on the rocks on the Havens Neck peninsula. We often see gray and humpback whales and recently blue and killer whales spouting and occasionally breaching out of the ocean.
The bluff is like a garden, covered with plants and natural wildflowers. Known as the 'banana belt,' nearby rivers provide a more fog-free and temperate climate than other coastal areas.

We were greeted by deer and the gentle barking 'hellos' of the sea lions. The house is so comfortable--more space than we imagined and the light so wonderful.. The view rates in our top three--following the Grand Canyon, Positano, Italy and tied with Villa Cinciano in Tuscany. As we say farewell to the deer and sea lions, we'll promise to return and will always remember the beauty by day and the peaceful blanket of the Milky Way by night.

July 4 weekend —We had a wonderfully relaxing long weekend. From the moment we walked into the living room and looked out the wall of windows to view the ocean, we knew we were in for a treat. The beach house is very coastal, lovely and comfortable and probably the most well stocked rental we've vacationed. The home is very private as it is tucked away in a cove and we found it was protected from the wind quite well. We started our mornings with a dip in the hot tub and spent most of our time either sitting in the living room looking out the living room window, using the binoculars to spy on the sea lions or on the deck, reading, listening to music with cocktails and appetizers each night & playing games. It was just nice to not do anything obligatory for a few days and this beach house was set up for exactly that! Thank you so much, Pat. You were very pleasant to talk with and your interest in our satisfaction was very evident.We will be back!

We had such a wonderful time at this home. I say home because it felt like someone lived there but had left for us to stay. It was clean and well decorated as well as had instructions for everything we needed. Now - let's talk about the home and the area, it was like out of a movie. You walk in and the first thing you see are the great windows with nothing but views of the ocean! It was so restful and serene. We watched the seal lions and the waves. Pat was so wonderful and responsive, we can't thank her enough for sharing her space with us. Did I mention the hot tub and the view of the ocean from the hot tub. We needed a get away to relax and rejuvenate and this home did the trick! Plenty of space, watched TV, went to Mendocino, Point Arena, and Anchor Bay. It was just the perfect place to stay and relax and enjoy the sea! Can't wait to go again!

My family has used VRBO since 2010 and this is by far our favorite house! The views were stunning, the house was perfection and the lush landscape was jaw dropping. This house is not just a rental - it is a home and that's part of what sets this house apart.Pat, the owner, was fantastic! Her enthusiasm was contagious and refreshing. The town of Gualala was a treat as well! So many nice folks!Thanks Pat!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Phoenix Nest. The home is extremely comfy and well-appointed. Stunningly situated above the ocean with fantastic views, the home is private, and you feel as if you are one with the dramatic scenery. The outdoor deck is much for the owner to boast about, regarding its size and extensive views.Thank you once again to Pat. We had a lovely time, and your assistance was stellar! Bob and Mark
