Gualala is approximately 2.5 hours north of San Francisco via Highway 101 to Highway 1, right on the Mendocino-Sonoma County border. Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa is the nearest airport at roughly 90 minutes east. A car is recommended -- Highway 1 is one of the world's great coastal drives.

Seasonal ants: This neighborhood sometimes sees ants during certain times of year. We monitor the home regularly and treat proactively when needed. If you notice any activity during your stay, please message us so we can address it quickly—thank you.
Whale watching season runs from December through April -- grab the binoculars and watch for gray whale spouts from your window. Spring wildflowers (April-June) blanket the coastal headlands and the banks of the Gualala River with vibrant color. Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Cliff House. The views are amazing from the deck. The hot tub was comfortable and soothing after a few hours of warming it up to optimal temperature from a starting temperature of 76. The King bed in main bedroom is comfortable, and that bathroom is large and convenient. We appreciated the reasonably priced option on our stay for late checkout at 2pm as well. Would definitely stay again in the future.
